For adding a mobile number to your internet banking: UBI Online Registration; However when it comes to changing of your registered mobile number, the best approach would be to visit your account branch and seek their assistance; The excerpts from a mail from the bank to its customer, who complained that the request for modifications of the details were not carried out: “Mobile number & E mail address of a customer are confidential items. As Bank disseminates account information to its customers, Bank ensures genuineness of them.We request you to put a written request to your Branch. Will there be dialogues between the liberal blog "The War Donkey" and the conservative blog "The War Elephant" on Quora, in the same vein as the book co-authored by Habib Fanny and Matthew Bates?
No.One of the criticisms of our book (which is really awesome and totally still for sale on Amazon, by the way) was that there was no real “dialogue” involved at all. At least, not that made it into the book. Habib and I chatted behind the scenes in creating the book, though. I suppose that counts as “dialogue.” But, in the book itself, it was just the same question being answered from two different, opposite-sides-of-the-aisle perspectives. There was no back-and-forth. Just forth. It’s the same with the two major political spaces here on Quora. If you search them, you can likely find the same exact question on each, with completely different, but both still “good” answers.During the House discussion on impeachment last year, one reporter said something that really resonated with me, because it put into words something that I’ve noticed for a long time. I was happy that I wasn’t the only one who noticed it. He said: (I’m paraphrasing because I can’t find the exact quote now.) “This isn’t a debate on the House floor like there is supposed to be among our Representatives. Most of the Representatives who are speaking are speaking to the cameras in a mostly-empty House chamber. They’re talking past each other and directly to their base.”“Debate” and “dialogue” imply some sort of exchange of ideas between people with open minds. There isn’t much of that anymore. It’s mostly people sharing the ideas that they already feel, finding the “facts” that they need to support their ideas, and then looking for ways to ignore/dismiss/refute/discredit any oppositional ideas.Technology is to blame for a lot of that. It’s far too easy to quickly find “facts” to support what you already feel is the truth, and block out any “facts” or opinions that might not support your chosen truth. And I’ll be the first to admit that I am just as guilty of this as everyone else. Well, maybe a little better than most, because I at least make an effort to listen to the other side. I’m a big fan of progressive talk radio, for example, but I never agree with anything that they say. Mainly I listen to it to confirm my beliefs that the left just has a completely different perception of reality than I do.For example, I firmly believe that the traditional, “mainstream” media has a hard left political bias. All I need is a quick Google search to find “evidence” to support my pre-chosen opinion on this. All someone else needs is a quick Google search to find “evidence” that refutes it. And all I need to do is ignore or dismiss those other “facts,” or just block the person who is trying to convince me that what I already feel isn’t the truth. It’s too easy. It’s also been the reality of the situation my entire adult life. I have zero faith that it will change before my time on this Earth is over. We’ll all just keep preaching to the choirs, completely convinced that we’re right and ignoring the other side, or convince ourselves that the other side is, at best, misinformed, or, at worst, outright evil. The progressives I listen to are absolutely convinced that conservatism is dying. Literally… they think that the elderly are the only ones preventing progressivism from taking hold. There are progressives in their 20s who are sure that, by the time they’re in their 50s, the United States will have things like universal healthcare, universal basic income, 70%+ taxes on the wealthy, “free” college, etc… And they can easily find “facts” online to back up their beliefs.A part of me used to believe that they were correct. Just a small part of me. But the election of Trump squashed that little part of me. Now I am more convinced that progressivism of the variety I listen to on progressive talk radio is a very minority opinion in this country, popular with a few million very vocal and social-media astute young people and never-grew-out-of-it hippies. In a country of 350 million-plus people, their only real power is with local governments where they live, and the power to annoy and troll the rest of the country.Even if and when Democrats get elected, few of them will be very progressive. It will be like Obama’s first two years: lots of hope, little change. And the little change that does happen (like the ACA) will usher in a new era of political backlash against it. It will be a gift to the oppositional party.2024: Democrats take the presidency, House, and Senate. Progressives all over the country rejoice, thinking that the dark days of conservatism are behind them for good.2025: Universal Basic Income is passed.2026: Sweeping victories for Republicans in the House and Senate, all of whom run against UBI.2028: Republicans regain the presidency and keep the House and Senate, all based on opposition to UBI.Also 2028: Progressives blame the Republican victories on misinformed voters, shady Republican tactics, foreign interference, or outright treason. Anything but the fact that most Americans never wanted UBI.And so on. Democrats win some, Republicans win some. Most people’s personal situations are unaffected by what happens in Washington, but rather their own personal life choices. And everyone just keeps talking past each other. It is what it is.
