Good answers here. It depends how you define “best” and on what you are looking for.Arizona is about 400 miles from north to south and about 300 miles from east to west. There are 4 different biomes from the Sonoran Desert in the south, to chaparral in the middle, to vast Ponderosa forests & mountains in the north, to the high desert in the northwest. It is the 6th largest state by square mileage.The Best Place to Live in Arizona really depends on what you value.A young college age person will want to live close to Tempe, Tucson, or Flagstaff for access to the University and for the culture and night life.I agree with Stan Stalnaker on Prescott. A retiree especially might want to live in Prescott. It consistently ranks high in various articles for best places to retire because of the climate and the cost of living.I agree with Jae Starr with her recommendations, if that is what you are looking for. Bisbee especially with its funky arts scene will appeal to some people.Mostly I agree with Melissa Stroud on Scottsdale. For me the best place is Scottsdale. I live in north Scottsdale by Orangetree Golf Course & Kierland. I have easy access to the freeways (51 & 101) and can get anywhere fairly quickly. I can get to work near 24th Street & Camelback in about 15 minutes. I can get to a Diamondbacks baseball games, Suns basketball, Cardinals football games, the Phoenix Symphony, the Phoenix Opera, or touring Broadway Plays at Gammage Auditorium easily. In about 1 hour I can be in Prescott for a change of pace or outdoor activities. In about 2 hours I can be in Flagstaff for hiking, backpacking, or skiing. In 4 hours I can be at the Grand Canyon. In about 1 hour I can be on Saguaro Lake, Bartlett Lake, or Lake Pleasant. San Diego, Las Vegas, and Durango are an hour away by air. San Francisco and Denver are 2 hours away by air.Areavibes has a list of the best places to live based on several factors - Amenities, cost of living, Crime (Safety), employment, weather, Best Places To Live In ArizonaI don’t agree completely with their list, but it does make sense.They list in this order1 Carefree2 Gilbert3 Cave Creek4 Paradise Valley5 Tubac6 Litchfield Park7 Fountain Hills8 Chandler9 Oro Valley10 Queen CreekEven though North Scottsdale doesn’t rank very high on AreaVibes, it is still Numero Uno on my list.

They were removed, starting with the statue of George III in New York’s Battery Park.On July 9, 1776, five days after the Declaration of Independence, Captain Oliver Brown of the 2nd New York Regiment marched his company to Battery Park where ropes were used to remove the statue of George III from its pedestal.Following demolition, the statue was decapitated and the body taken to Litchfield, Connecticut where it was melted into 42,000 musket balls by the Continental Army’s Quartermaster Corps. The head of the statue was deposited with the New York Historical Society which has kept it in its archives, un-displayed.The statue of George III was eventually replaced with a new statue of Giovanni da Verrazzano, the Italian explorer who first charted New York Harbor and for whom a number of landmarks in New York are named, including the Verrazzano Bridge.A replica of the Battery Park statue was commissioned in 2016 from part of a $40 million donation made by the American art collector Harold Lenfest to the National Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia and is displayed in the museum’s foyer. It is positioned with a rope tied around George III’s neck held by a wax figure meant to represent a 2nd New York Regiment soldier, showing it as it might have looked at the onset of its demolition.
