High School Dance Guest: Fill & Download for Free

After 15 years of marriage my “friend” left his wife for his high school sweetheart. He had recently rekindled with her when they both were on the committee planning their high school reunion. He could not get divorced fast enough. The wedding to marry his high school sweetheart was literally a few weeks after the divorce was finalized. Everyone at the wedding was heart broken for his two teenage daughters who watched in tears as he had his first dance with his “new” wife. For his youngest daughter it was too much to bear. She literally ran out of the reception bawling with family members in tow. If that is not bad enough, at some point during the wedding the groom decided to ask the DJ for the mic for a special speech. For whatever reason the “happy” groom had decided to make his speech talking in third person. It went something like this:“Johnathan and Macy would like to thank everyone for coming to their wedding………..”There was an audible gasp from all the guest. Why?? Well, his new bride’s name was Loraine. Macy was the name of his now ex-wife. He immediately tried to correct himself, but the damage was done. The guests open mouths and his new wife’s face said it all.

The incident I am about to tell you happened about ten years after I graduated from my high school. I was dating someone who was teaching at my ex-school, so often I attended school parties and get-togethers.One of the “new” teachers — she was not there when I still was around — was a young, good-looking French teacher, Miss June (not her real name).Whenever there was a party, she was there. She loved dancing, talking, drinking, provoking.The twelfth graders called her the coolest teacher of the school. She really got on very well with all her students.But later it became clear that this was an understatement.One of the first signs that she might be (way) too familiar with her pupils, was the time that a female student mentioned to another teacher that Miss June was “really cool, she even has a nipple piercing.”Although she did not show it in class, apparently she loved to describe in very graphical terms how and where she was pierced.She also sent text messages and pictures to some of her pupils, often clearly showing her nipple piercing(s), such as in the picture below.(This is not the actual Miss June.)Usually at parties, the young teachers gathered at the bar, and socialized. And so did she, until the moment when she spotted some of the seniors she taught, especially the girls. She would spend the rest of the evening in their company.There were rumors that she also frequented “non-school parties” that were attended by some of her female pupils. Cool Miss June would pop up as a surprise guest, and buy the schoolkids drinks.Some teachers started to muse about what her boyfriend of ten years was thinking of all this. (Or did he not know ?)Things really got out of hand at a senior school trip.The seniors and some teachers went on a three-day-trip, and after a little party on the last evening, deep in the night, Miss June slipped into the room of her favorite pupil, who was vast asleep, and she creeped into her bed, totally naked.The girl totally freaked out.I will spare you the (unpleasant) details of what followed, but Miss June was suspended, and she wasn’t allowed to teach again to minors in the next ten years. The case made the national newspapers.We never saw her again.At the end, I think she became a victim of her own social attitude. I remember as a kid, laughing at the thought of square dancing.Everything changed my junior year of high school.The StoryI had transferred to a private high school, and there were no dances. Zip, zero, zilch. Coming from a public high school where school dances made my eyes light up, this was one major drawback to the new school. Then I was invited by a girl to the Sadie Hawkins dance.Dance? Did you say what I thought you said?It was like someone talking to a guy who just survived crossing the Sahara Desert and casually mentioning that they have an extra gallon of water in their bag.There was a resounding yes.The catch - it was a Square Dance.Here’s where it gets interesting. You see, for most normal kids, they opt to sit on the sidelines at school dances for fear of looking silly, not knowing any moves, etc. The square dance, after a quick run through with the guest instructors, was a full participation activity. Everyone did their Do-See-Do, and Right-Left-Grandes. I don’t care what kind of dancing it is, if it packs out the dance floor, it makes for a fun evening.Square Dancing is a great way of “Shrinking the Change”. It eliminates the need for the leader to think of what move should go next. This eliminates second guessing, indecisiveness, and frustration.Square dancing may not be the featured entertainment at a hip bar in Hollywood, but it should be a time honored tradition for Sadie Hawkins dances across the country.Photo Credit - November Fun
