PDF Editor FAQ

What are your thoughts on Jared Kushner now advising Trump on the coronavirus pandemic?

Hey Dana and Joanne!Have no fear, Jared Kushner aka Princess Grifty’s android husband is here… Tonight you’ll sleep like a baby, content in the knowledge that everything is going to be fine. Scratch that, better than fine. Great, even. Whereas terror might have gripped your waking moments, now there will only be a sense of calm. Why? Because Jared Kushner is on the case.Donald Trump is "reluctant" to give the COVID-19 pandemic an emergency designation, which would provide emergency funding to states and allow a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) response in affected areas, because Trump believes calling it an "emergency" would go against his prior insistence that the coronavirus outbreak was no worse than the yearly flu.He doesn't want to declare the emergency, said a "Republican who speaks to Trump," because it "contradicts his message." Worse, still, is this news: The coronavirus task force now led by Vice President Mike Pence will be holding off on its own recommendation on whether to declare a national emergency. The reason? They’re waiting on Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner.According to a person "familiar" with the situation, the task force "will not give Trump its final verdict until Jared Kushner, the president’s senior adviser and husband to his daughter Ivanka, finishes his research and comes to a conclusion himself," Politico reports. Trump fears emergency declaration would contradict coronavirus messageSo the declaration of emergency allowing the response to an emerging and deadly pandemic will, if one comes at all, be on hold until Trump's son-in-law familiarizes himself with virus research, pandemic response protocols, and other applicable information so that he, himself, can make a decision based on his “research” rather than deferring to the government’s own assembled public health experts.Upon which Trump may or may not do it anyway, because he believes it would "contradict" his message that his administration has the virus under control. Now, some of you may be wondering to yourselves, Hey wait a second, what does Kushner know about pandemics? Isn’t he best known for a disastrous real estate deal and little else? And the answer to that question is yes, but he’s also known for so much more, such as:Screwing up his financial disclosure forms more than three dozen times;Requiring a $2.5 million pledge by his ex-con father to get into the college of his choice;Registering to vote as a woman;Passing a prank call from a comedian pretending to be Senator Bob Menendez on to the president;Ruining a New York City newspaper he bought with his father’s money;Unwittingly becoming the pawn of not one but two princes;Pitching a Middle East peace plan described as “the Monty Python sketch of Israeli-Palestinian peace initiatives.”On the other hand, he did read a whole 25 books about said Israel–Palestine conflict, so maybe if he really wears out his library card in the epidemiology section he’ll be able to crack this thing. Rest assured that Jared who is perhaps the only person alive who doesn’t understand how incompetent Jared Kushner is, will reach a “comprehensive peace agreement with the virus.”

Zombie apocalypse movies and shows almost always forget about the military. Hypothetically, it it were to happen, how would the militaries of the world respond to an actual zombie outbreak?

Let's use the United States for this answer. In every zombie apocalypse movie, show, and book, it is portrayed that a group of survivors can survive almost forever in the apocalypse, but these people can't:It's extremely absurd. The US Military has the most technological advanced infantry forces in the world, along with having the best Air Force, Navy, and Coast Guard known to man.The US Army Soldier for example, experienced Basic Combat Training, Advanced Individual Training, Etcetera. They operate very well with their M4A1 or M249, have the physical strength and mental strength to accomplish the tasks they are required to, and most importantly it's the fact that most of them have been overseas with combat experience.A Walker would be a slow moving target that only has the ability to personally infect you by getting in very close proximity and somehow managing to bite through your clothing or gear you are wearing. You also have to take into consideration that if an average human were to try and take on a platoon of soldiers, with no firearms, bombs, etcetera, they'd fail. Imagine those same humans, but instead they are decaying and falling apart easily by anything.A Soldier, especially Infantrymen, are in good health, have combat experience, have the training needed for combat, looks out for their brothers in the field even if it's a rotting corpse coming to kill them, have the physical and mental capability to carry out the mission, and not only that, but they can strategize, plan, and think ahead of their enemy. Everything a zombie doesn't have. There would be airstrikes on hordes, infantry forces clearing towns, cities, houses, etcetera. There would be artillery strikes, gun runs by A10 Warthogs and Apache/Cobra Choppers, or the hell being rained by AC130's, B2 Spirits, etcetera. I'd be surprised if we had casualties at all judging by the power of both forces. It's not rocket science to know that you have the best military to ever exist fighting someone who can't even shoot back, strategize, plan, or think.Obviously, once the military deployed there would be Forward Operating Bases and many Safezones created for civilians that would have strict curfews, daily health screenings, patrols day and night, house checks, water treatment and the constant convoys bringing in MRE's, Water Bottles, Medicine, Clothing, Hygiene Essentials and etcetera. Obviously since there are too many people on Quora who don't know much about the US Military or FEMA at all and would still try to comment how wrong I am.. I am just going to say we have capabilities that are beyond your belief to get the supplies needed to sustain life in a zombie apocalypse. Especially with help from FEMA and U.S. Aid™Plus, the firepower being rained on them by the military would be unlike anything the world has ever seen before.Imagine a gigantic horde of rotting corpses that are slowly making their way towards the military, they are literally walking into a giant massacre. There would be artillery strikes on them, A10 Runs, infantry opening fire into them, AC130 Strikes, etcetera.A Zombie Apocalypse would leave a lot of civilians safe in military control, and the actual zombies would be getting their asses whooped courtesy of the United States of America. And yes I'm very aware not all soldiers and marines have combat experience but they do have the training that prepares them for it.

How do I study for the CA Final Law in 100 hours?

In 100 hours? For audit I have written a separate answer which can be read here.Rishi Rishabh Jain's answer to How do I study for the CA final audit in 100 hours?Talking about law subject, it should be given ideally somewhere from 150 to 200 hours, to score exemption. It will be a tough task for me to reduce the number of hours required to 100, so we need to cut short the reading time by going selective in chapters. (Ok being said that, what chapters shall we skip sir? Wait my dear, wait. Before that we need to discuss this.)SCOPE OF STUDY (what to study)Firstly, we will go through the entire text/notes onceWe will watch revision lectures from YouTube or we can perform both steps as above simultaneously and read the chapter using revision lectures itself nowWe will directly take up question bank and practice sums, marking important questions for revisionAnd meanwhile studying the entire subject, we will revise the notes once againNow we will revise marked important questions and will look up for amendment lectures, if anyThen solve mock tests, MTPs and RTPs for November attempt to test our learning and preparation.Division of chaptersOverall we can divide the subject and its chapters into 6 major parts or categories:Order of Study:Category no. 1 – First we will cover these chapters- DIRECTOS, MEETINGS AND KMPCategory no. 2 – III, C&A, O&M, FOREIGN COMPANYCategory no. 4 – Security Law (SEBI and SCRA)Category no. 5 – Allied Law (FEMA, FCRA and IBC)Category no. 3 – Allied Law (residual chapters) (only if time permits)Category no. 6 – Residual chapters of company Law (only if time permits)Now comes the major question, sir how are we supposed to complete the entire director’s chapter in 20 hours? Before jumping to answer that I would like to ask you, which study material would you be referring?Various possible answers to the above question isMy own handwritten notes (Aww, cho chweet!)ICAI Study Mat (Kudos!)Pankaj Garg bookMunish bhandari textbook (dude seriously?)Munish bhandari HandbookDarshan Khare detailed moduleDarshan Khare BoosterSiddarth agarwal BookSwapnil Patni chartsOtherYou should understand that there’s difference between selecting study material and selecting question bank. Study material will be used to revise the content and sections for in depth study, while question bank will be used to test that understanding. These are two different concepts but what students do is, they use question bank for concept building and revising the syllabus.Various question banks available are ofDarshan KharePankaj GargSanidhya sarafOthersNow what combination should we use? And which one is best?I don’t know about others, but in my attempt, only munish bhandari handbook was famous and I personally referred that for few chapters and used my own summarized handwritten notes. (you can find notes link for audit and law in my profile description). But as of today there are three popular alternatives:Munish Bhandari handbook + Pankaj Garg scannerDarshan Khare booster + Darshan khare scannerPankaj garg book + Pankaj Garg scannerAll three alternatives have their own pros and cons, which I will be describing in a separate answer, but as of now, we can use any of the above alternatives. Most popular one is using Pankaj garg book and scanner as it is widely used and acclaimed to be best suited for repeaters. Darshan khare sir’s books are also getting recognition from past years and now he has uploaded all the material on his website too, which can be accessed freely.Revision LecturesBefore mentioning the options available, I think students need a little convincing to be done.Take up any chapter of your choice. Let’s take up FEMA. Ok, now if you have to revise FEMA from your book, how much time do you need? Let’s look up for the total number of pages to be read. In Munish bhandari sir’s book – its almost 58 pages. Taking 5 page per hour efficiency, you will be taking somewhere between 8 to 12 hours. Now if you open YouTube and search for Darshan khare’s FEMA revision for May 2020 attempt, you will see he has done that in around 3 hours. Same way he has revised the entire law (almost all topics) within 20 hours and if you watch at 2x speed, then you will be done with revision in 10 to 12 hours. So I don’t think there’s much to discuss about quick revision lectures, you can watch according to your preference. Lectures of Arpita tulsyan and sanidhya saraf is also available but yes my suggestion is Darshan Khare’s lectures of 20 hours.Summarizing our understanding till here:We will be studying in 6 partsWe will first study company law main chapters, then security law, then allied laws and then misc. topics of company law (if time permits)We will use quick revision lectures to revise the theory fasterWe will extensively solve question bank and mark important questionsWe will study the entire subject twice during 100 hoursAs we have discussed what to study, how to study, from where to study, we should now focus on when to study?Ideally 100 hours for Law is little less but this is what we have, considering 31st October deadline for November 2020 attempt. This answer is a part of ‘Online Mentoring Program’ by Bhilwara CA Gurukul and we have made 80 days “Overall study strategy” for CA students. There we have decided to devote not more than 100 hours for law. For more details you can view contact details at the end of this answer. So we will be bifurcating the available 100 hours into the following:Revision lectures - 15 hoursStudying - 75 hoursRevision - 10 HoursTotal - 100 hoursPROCEDURE TO STUDYStep 1 – Open YouTube and watch revision lecture of any particular chapterStep 2 – Revise notes/summary book/booster with the revision lecture or after watching revision lectureStep 3 – Jump to question bank of that particular chapter, read and mark all important questionsStep 4 – Now revise this chapter again, tomorrow morning or at the start of next day slot of law subject.Step 5 – After 3 days, watch revision lecture and revise its important questions againAs we know this is our hourly distribution category wise:So here comes the question, how to finish Chapter 1, 2 and 3 in 20 hours? You might be using different book and scanner but I will be describing here using Darshan Khare’s booster and scanner. This is my summary for Darshan Khare booster and scanner and it has around 60 pages (33+20+9 pages) for all the above 3 chapters and around 240 questions.Considering standard efficiency of 5 pages per hour (although at this point of time, we need to improve it), we will require around 12-14 hours for studying these chapters from books. Total no. of questions is 240 questions. Considering repetitive questions and few easy questions, we will read 150 questions roughly. One question takes 5 minutes to answer. So we need 750 minutes (150 qn * 5 min) which is roughly 6 hours. So in total, it takes around 18-20 hours to self study these three chapters. This strategy is for students who can self study law and are good at analyzing, cross referencing and understanding theory. Otherwise, we shall watch revision lectures. So what these students have to do for ‘Category 1’ is:Watch revision lectures of DK sir of 7 hours (4.45+1.45+0.5 hours) for Ch 1, 2 and 3 respectively (will take only 3.5 hours if you watch at 2x)Then open DK Booster and read the entire text again from book quickly which will take around 6 hours (3+1+2 hours) (only if you need to)Now jump to question bank and solve important questions which will need somewhere around 10-12 hours (6+3+2 hours) (this is the point where we need to play smart, we should not practice each and every question but should not leave any question as well)(I have marked important questions in each chapter, both in pankaj garg and darshan khare scanner, you can ask for the list of important questions on whatsapp or telegram, for audit and law both)I will illustrate you for ‘Category 2’ also:Watch revision lectures of 6 hours for Ch 4, 5, 6 and 9 respectively (will take only 3 hours - at 2x speed)Read DK Booster - will take around 5-6 hours (only if you feel the need)Question bank - solve important questions, will need around 5-6 hoursNow do this for all categories. All the calculations and timing requirement is done for your convenience.(You can ask for clarification of above calculation here and for personalized timetable here)Overall time requirement for each category by following the above procedure will be:So all these chapters or say 6 category of chapters will take roughly around 70-80 hours of your effective study time. If you strictly follow the above procedure of watching revision lecture, studying text, solving questions and revising daily, you can efficiently complete the entire law in 100 hours.PREPARATION OF SLOTSYou can divide each category into slots of 5 hours each.So total 100 hours will have 20 slots of 5 hours each. You can change it to 25 slots of 3 hours also. (If you want me to make a new 30 slot timetable, you can ask me on [email protected])Now you have to just allocate the topics into each slot. I have done that for you keeping in mind our order of study.Major announcement – I will be taking live ZOOM classes of 3 hours for each major chapter of audit and law, will revise the entire chapter and solve important questions with MCQs. This will be an interactive class of 5 students only with personal attention to understanding. (It is more like a group study but in a guided direction) So you can ask for zoom class timetable on whatsapp or telegram.Important tips-Category 3 is completely optional, considering criticality of time, we can chose otherwise.Whenever you start your study slot, firstly revise previous day’s topic and revise on a cumulative basis. Like revise Chapter 2 today, revise Chapter 2 and 3 tomorrow, before starting chapter 4. Cumulative revision! It is better to study 2 subjects in one day. So compliment one slot of law with a practical subject. But do overdo law in one day. Study not more than 5–6 hours in a day.You don’t have to study each and every chapter of law. Point is even if you study only category no. 1, 2 and 3, you should solve its questions twice and revise it thrice before the exams. Quality over quantity!Covering syllabus is not the priority, revising the syllabus is. Studying 100% of syllabus once is far worse than studying 60% of the syllabus once and revising 40% of the syllabus twice.Directors, KMP, Meetings, SEBI, SCRA, FEMA, FCRA, IBC and III are the chapters which you need to be confident about. These chapters will constitute almost 60% of the paper.Learn from your mistakes. Look which questions of Nov’19 exams were you not able to attempt, even after studying that chapter in Nov’19. Practice more questions of that chapter. There is NO SHORTCUT TO SUCCESS. You have to work hard as well as smart, to score exemption in law.Remember the saying – AIM FOR EYE, EVEN IF YOU MISS, YOU’LL GET THE BODY.RegardsRishi❤️P.S. I believe - If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.Only 80 days left for CA Final Exams in November 2020, don’t waste your crucial time. Remember you have got only 960 hours (80 days * 12 hours). And remember what RIshi Sir is saying - for each day you waste, it reduces your 1 mark.Sincere Request - Dear Quorans, my reach is limited. Please share this answer with your CA friends. 🙏🙏🙏
