Landscapes Online: Fill & Download for Free

Online courses like MOOC, Udacity, and Stanford Online are great ways for someone to educate themselves on a particular topic, if they do best in a lecture-based course.In terms of its impact on computer work and workers, I don’t really see one. At least for software developers, you still need credentials to get a job, either a degree, experience, or recommendations. Online courses will fall in the bucket of “hey, good for you!”Just as a degree doesn’t guarantee you a job, online courses won’t make much difference either, at least for the big companies.

It might sound silly but your parents are probably from an older generation of internet users. Back in the wild west of the internet there was less regulated ways to get software. Bear in mind for example Steam only came around after 2003 and didn’t really become popular until many years later. At this point in time (and in the decades prior) the main way to get legitimate software was through physical media such as floppy disks and CDs. The average internet connection during this time wouldn’t have been sufficient to consistently download games, not to mention the lack of online distributors.If you did decide to save a few quid and search up for movies or games online chances are you’d come across a shady website with shady files and end up downloading a virus.Fast forward to today and the internet is a completely different landscape, online distribution and streaming has become more mature and average internet is jumping in many areas from 64kbps to 64mbps. Today its easier than ever to get games on your PC.This is probably the reason why your parents think games contain virus’. As for how to convince them otherwise, this is a tough topic. The best way generally is to simply educate and explain they way games work and prove the legitimacy of the online distributors. They probably have had bad experiences of people breaking their computers by downloading stuff.

Sorry to be so slow responding to this. Like others I was not familiar with his work. However, I have been looking at many of his landscapes online. I am especially intrigued by his low horizon landscapes as well as their overall composition. As you may have guessed by now, I am big on interesting compositions. I am especially attracted to this painting, “Stracathro.”
