I was in TCS for about 4 years and 5 months.i have seen people having regrets after joining TCS and want to leave it as Soon as possible.But I don't know in my case it's completely difficult. The only reason I left TCS is because of financial growth.I needed to support my family after my marriage.Steps I did to land new job. :I am basically from mechanical background and I needed to join TCS due to some unavoidable circumstances.In the beginning it was very difficult to cope up in IT . Slowly I started learning things and getting comfortable with the things I work on . By the time I left TCS I was awarded with 3 continuous top bands and a early promotion.But after 4 years, I got married so needed financial growth.So I started thinking of switching. And started working on it.I was basically working on PlSql ,java, tableau, elastic search.So I took online courses on the same in udemy and started learning for 2–3 hours per day. One more things which helped a lot was i made use of my development team. As they were good friend's of mine , I used to have call with them to understand the functionality and how things work. They were real help to me.After almost 2 months into job search, I finally got offers .Served 90 days notice period and finally submitted my ID card with heavy heart.And life after TCS is pretty good! Learning new things, meeting new people . As my company is new in India and basically it's a US company.But TCS will be always special to me :).

Move fastYou have twelve weeks to make a real contribution. This is very little time, and it's important that you work as fast as possible.Try to submit a meaningful code change in your first week. People may tell you to watch orientation or training videos, but these should be low priority for you compared to making significant impact on your project.Try to parallelize your tasks as much as possible. This is especially important in areas like machine learning, where you spend lots of time waiting for programs to run on clusters. I recommend writing down everything you have to do; that way you can look at your list and see what you have to do next.Add valueTry to add as much value to the team as possible. Your top priority should be building something that your teammates will use after you leave. This means finishing your project, but it also means making sure the code is well-documented, and you have done a good job communicating your work to your teammates.Make sure you get future consumers (i.e. your teammates) on board with any important design decisions before you start writing code. Otherwise when you leave they might scrap the project, and you won't have added value.(In general, it is much better to ask people if you're doing the right thing than to try to guess what the right thing is, and have to correct yourself. This is especially true if your actions impact production systems, and one mistake could cause a lot of trouble for people.)If you don't find yourself adding value (e.g. if you're spending a lot of time waiting for things to run), try to look for other things you can do, instead of just browsing Facebook. This might mean documenting code, or helping out with code tangentially related to your project (get the owner’s permission first). You can also suggest new directions for your project and ask your manager’s opinion, or just ask your manager if there's anything extra you can do to add value.Finally, don’t be afraid to ask people questions. In most companies there is a lot of knowledge that isn't written down anywhere, and you would never know it unless you asked. It's best to ask about this stuff as soon as possible.
