PDF Editor FAQ

What's the best online forms tool (SaaS solution/service) that enables small to mid-size businesses to manage forms that require internal approval workflows?

What do HR administrators, IT directors, procurement and finance managers, event managers, and entrepreneurs have in common? If you answered, “collecting data,” you’d be half right. These professionals (and many others) also need an effective way for internal stakeholders to either approve or deny submitted requests. The twin needs of data collection and a turnkey approvals process present a catch-22 for most businesses. You can’t have approvals without having a form, request, or data to approve — but on the other hand, many of today’s workflow solutions don’t provide a feature-rich form builder to collect the data you need to feed into your approvals process.Too often, having to “stitch together” multiple solutions leads to inexact data collection with users spending time creating something that may not function properly, instead of dedicating that time to their core duties. So we built something better here at JotForm. We’re excited to announce the arrival of JotForm Approvals — an innovative way to get more done and save time. JotForm Approvals empowers teams to automate approval processes and streamline workflows with ease. With JotForm’s drag-and-drop interface, teams can easily add approvers, emails, conditional branches, and other elements to an approval process. The best part? Jotform Approvals works seamlessly with our best-in-class form builder. Now you can combine the flexibility and features of forms with the capabilities of a workflow solution. In many ways, JotForm Approvals is a natural evolution of JotForm’s functionality — providing ways to increase your organization’s productivity whether collecting data or setting up automated processes.JotForm Approvals brings together end-to-end data collection, reviews, and approval workflows with features and security that offer a new level of confidence. Built to meet today’s organizational demands, JotForm Approvals offers more features specifically for approval flows. For instance, let’s say you’re an HR administrator creating an employee leave approval workflow for one of your department heads. You may want to give them the ability to reassign approvals when they go on vacation or when they hire someone who has their own direct reports. It’s a snap to reassign the task, and get a heads-up via email when the reassignment occurs.Another cool feature of JotForm Approvals is custom outcomes. With custom outcomes, you can create approvals with responses suited to your particular business needs. For example, if a leave request can be approved but needs clarification or adjusted dates, you can respond to the approval request with an outcome specific to your business needs (and build your approval flow in concert with your outcome). To cover potential contingencies, you may want to construct an approval flow that can automatically handle conditional requests. Let’s say an employee submits a leave request in excess of 10 days. You can use conditional branching to set the day limit condition and perform a different action according to the condition that’s met. This way, anything over 10 days will follow a branch that reroutes the request to a specified contact for approval.JotForm Approvals will help you streamline your organization’s efforts by uniting your data collection with your workflow management, reducing errors through new, more accurate processes and increasing productivity by saving time that would otherwise be spent on ad-hoc emails or third-party tools. In addition, JotForm Approvals features major benefits and innovative functions built directly into the tool to ultimately make your job easier and create an improved experience for your respondents. Here are just a few:Native best-in-class form builder functionalityJotForm provides a sophisticated online form builder that differentiates itself with flexibility and features such as customization, payment capabilities, widgets, and more. We’ve been focused on forms from day one, and now we’ve applied that same know-how to users’ workflow needs.Interconnected platform functionalityJotForm Approvals works in concert with JotForm Inbox, JotForm Tables, and JotForm Mobile Forms. When solutions like Approvals are linked to other native products, your productivity increases and you solve more of the tasks (i.e., request handling, communication, management, and reporting) that come along with approvals. The ability to track and control process ownershipThe flow owner has complete visibility over what’s happening and is the ultimate decision-maker for their approval process. If the process is blocked at some point (i.e., one of the approvers is on vacation), they can intervene in the approval flow and ensure the process moves forward.Mobile functionalityAn approver can view approval requests and approve/deny a request on any device over email, via the JotForm app, or on a desktop computer, no matter where they are. This ensures there are no barriers to getting work done.Simplified notification processWhether approvers or submitters, everyone will stay apprised of progress so no task gets overlooked. Approvers can view and respond to pending approvals, and form owners can track each step in JotForm Inbox. In addition, form respondents will receive personalized emails when their requests are approved. And this only scratches the surface of what JotForm Approvals can do. If you’re hungry for more information, you can read all about it here.Best of all? You can get started for free by visiting JotForm.

Did Mueller obtain the Trump transition team emails illegally or has Trump and his lawyer committed felonies by corruptly concealing those communications from Mueller?

Actually, neither option as stated in the OP are correct.First, President “Trump and his lawyer” did not commit felonies by corruptly concealing emails in the transition from former AG Mueller. There may be some content that has been deleted or concealed. But this issue (the transition emails being given to the Mueller team) involves the GSA (General Services Administration) which was in possession of the emails handing them over to the Mueller team at their request.Let me explain: when someone becomes President-elect and forms a transition team, the GSA provides office space, phone lines, laptops, server space, and email accounts. When you sign on to the laptops, you are informed that it is government property and that all content on the laptop can be reviewed by the government. The courts have ruled that government employees or those using government equipment have minimal expectations of privacy, especially when they’ve been notified by the government that they may be reviewing content on that equipment. Specifically, the Mueller team notified the Trump team not to delete any content or alter it b/c they reserved the right to review it during the investigation.GSA had all of the transition emails on their servers and laptops. The Mueller team asked for some specific content (from specific individuals) and the GSA transferred that content. There was no theft, no bugging, no illicit behavior by Mueller and his team. They simply asked another government agency to provide content on their servers/laptops after having previously notified the Administration that they reserved the right to do so and after those individuals used laptops that indicated that the laptop was the property of the USG and could be reviewed at any point. Now what has happened since then is that the Trump legal team has argued that this was wrong. Mueller and his team did nothing wrong. If there is any basis to the argument here, it’s that the GSA shouldn’t have just handed the laptops and emails over to Mueller and his team. Trump’s legal team bases this on a conversation they claim to have had with the then Legal Affairs specialist for GSA (that individual is now dead). Meanwhile, a career GSA employee who was in the meeting disputes the claims by the Trump Legal team and says that at no point did GSA promise to seek Administration approval before releasing any content to an investigator. Furthermore, there is no document by the GSA or apparently by the Trump Legal team (if there is, they haven’t produced it) demonstrating any such claim. And based on what I’ve read, the typical process here would not be to go public (as the Trump Administration has) but instead to file a motion to the Judge overseeing the Grand Jury asking the judge to seal the documents or provide redress…and this has not apparently been done.Meanwhile, the Mueller team has publicly announced that their acquisition of the documents fully complies with Federal law and they’ve been consistent with Federal procedure and requirements for obtaining them. Given that the Mueller senior leadership team comprises over 200 years of experience prosecuting white collar crimes at the highest levels of the US justice system, I tend to believe that they know what they’re talking about. Given that the Trump legal team didn’t appear to take the action you’d be expected to take if you truly felt the documents were illegally obtained (asking the judge to seal them), I tend to give their comments minimal credibility. Both scenarios (as described in the OP) are incorrect and I believe neither to be true.

Is the Thai newspaper Bangkok Post reliable and neutral?

As a retired elementary teacher from an international school in Bangkok, I have gone on hundreds of field trips. Now technically, these excursions should be related to the curriculum being taught. Let’s just say that I stretched the truth sometimes when filling out the request forms for the trip. Shown below is a perfect example. This photograph was taken by my Thai teaching assistant on the tarmac of the Suvarnabhumi Airport before it was open to the public. A friend of Dee (my wife) had called her and asked if my class would like to tour the airport. Naturally, I jumped at the opportunity and then began to wonder how I was going to pull this trip off.And then it hit me. As part of our English curriculum we had been studying about newspapers and each student was in the process of making their own newspaper for distribution to the rest of the class. Perfect. We would be touring the airport as reporters. The only problem was that a trip to the Bangkok Post had already been arranged, but luckily both the parents and school gave their approval for an additional educational trip.Let me set the scene. Bangkok Post headquarters. Circa 2004.A couple of Bangkok Post employees met us as we were getting off of the bus and the tour began. My students and I were amazed at the massive rolls of paper used, how fast the newspaper was printed and how noisy the printing presses were. After the tour we went to a large classroom for a question and answer period with a senior member of the administration team who was of Western heritage. But right off the bat, I noticed that the tour guides were not experienced teachers. Why?On the top of every desk that a student was sitting behind was a colorful plastic bag filled with Bangkok Post knick-knacks. Trust me, most eight year old students are not able to multi-task and nobody was asking questions. After a couple of minutes of silence, I decided to help out and break the ice. Plus it allowed me to tell the students to put everything down and pay attention. I then asked my question.“Does anybody in Thailand ever tell the Bangkok Post what to write or not to write?” I thought the guy was going to have a stroke. He stuttered and stammered and luckily a student soon asked how come the ink smells so bad. He answered that question. Why did I ask that particular question? I had got tired of students asking me over and over again what to print in their newspapers. My goal had been to try and get them to think for themselves and thought the Bangkok Post guy would say something along the lines that reporters have to find stories on their own.At the end of the day, the Bangkok Post ain’t a bad newspaper. I’ve read it for years and they do the best they can under the circumstances. Personally, I enjoy perusing the ‘Letters to the Editor’ section. Trust me, they have some nuts that write in…
