Messi is supported in this by Barcelona, who also have a strong association with UNICEF.[332]He and Newell's have also ended a long public feud. Messi funded the construction of a dormitory inside Newell's stadium for the club's youth academy, as well as a new gymnasium for the club. For their part, Newell's has begun to embrace their ties with Messi, and plans to issue a special club membership card to Messi's son.[19]In March 2013, Lionel Messi donated €600,000 towards the refurbishment of a children's hospital in his hometown of Rosario, Argentina. The money was used to renovate the oncology unit at the Victor J Vilela Children's Hospital, as well as paying for doctors to travel to Barcelona for training.[333]In January 2015, Messi teamed up with tennis star Serena Williams as ambassadors in a new campaign, called 1 in 11 (represents the number of children worldwide who are unable to attend school), the result of a collaboration between UNICEF, the F.C. Barcelona Foundation, and Reach Out To Asia (ROTA). The campaign's aim is to help children around the world reach their potential through sport and education by raising funds for education programmes.Despite all his achievements, he is very humble and a down to earth player. Why did some combat vets vote for Hillary Clinton and/or why do they dislike Trump?

I voted for Hillary R. Clinton for reasons other than her stated policies, goals, and hopes for the military and military families, as well as what she did historically. However, to answer the question, the following are the reasons, as a retired military veteran, I voted for Clinton instead of for Trump. I also have included at the end of the Clinton bullets, bullets for Donald J. Trump’s stated (prior to the election) policies, goals and hopes for the military and military families. Also, what he actually did for the military/ military families historically.HR Clinton Re: Military and Military Families:- support “welcoming women to compete for all military positions provided they meet the requisite standards,” continuing current defense trends toward gender-neutral job requirements.- review service by transgender individuals, “anticipating that transgender people will soon be allowed to serve openly.”- reform the military health system, moving on changes to Tricare recommended by the Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission and expanding access to “nontraditional treatments” like online medical services.- modernize the military commissary system and expand child care offerings on installations.- insure members of military be able to more easily switch between active-duty, National Guard and reserve service "to make decisions good for their family and maintain a career with the military."- make permanent the Career Intermission Program that allows some military members to temporarily leave active duty for an extended period to pursue more education, care for children or tend to an ailing family member.- make the duty assignment process overhauled so that more spouses can serve near each other with neither losing ground in their career.- insure the Defense Department and federal Department of Education focus attention on public school divisions, like those in Hampton Roads, where significant segments of the student population are members of military families. The departments should work with local educators to "track, assess and improve" the education of military member's children.- revamp the Veterans Health Administration, offering better coordination with military health care, private physicians and other existing resources while still leaving VA in the lead role.“VA must maintain the ultimate responsibility of coordinating and ensuring comprehensive and quality health care for every veteran and the specialized services that they deserve — critical functions that would disappear if the VA were privatized,” the plan states.- place stronger oversight on VA operations, to include regular meetings in the Oval Office with the department secretary, and promises a fully inter-operable health records system between VA and the Defense Department.- increase- funding for VA mental health staffing and training, expansion of department counseling programs and promotion of “better prescriber and treatment practices” that offer more alternatives than medication.- create a standing President’s Council on Veterans to coordinate services across government agencies, convene a White House summit inviting key service organizations and state leaders, and continue work with Obama’s Joining Forces initiative.- close the 90/10 loophole that excludes GI Bill benefits from schools’ calculations of federal funds, a complaint from veterans’ groups who say for-profit colleges are victimizing veterans who use the popular education benefit.Several other elements of her military family platform were introduced in November, 2016, as part of her initiative to assist military veterans. Among them were promises to improve child care on and off base; expand maternity and paternity leaves; and expand employment assistance for civilian spouses of service members.DJ Trump Re: Military and Military Families:-“We’re going to make our military so big, so strong and so great, so powerful that we’re never going to have to use it. We’re going to have a president who is respected by Putin, respected by Iran.”-"Knock the hell out of" Iraq's oil fields in order to strike ISIS… take over the oil fields and funnel the profits back to the United States, funds he would use to take care of veterans and their families.- Prohibit military women from serving in combat roles.-“Destroy ISIS”- Defend chaplains’ rights to possess Bibles on military bases (note: there is no ban on military chaplains having a Bible. However, proselytizing — trying to get someone to change faiths — is banned.)HRC’s Historical Record:- Increased assistance for families caring for veterans. Hillary introduced the Heroes at Home Act of 2006, and fought to establish new services for military members and veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injuries. She successfully amended the 2007 Defense Appropriations Act to establish a traumatic brain injury family caregiver training curriculum for DOD and VA hospitals, and she championed efforts to create programs that make it easier for military family members to provide care for their loved ones.- Expanded health care coverage for Reservists and National Guard members. Hillary worked across the aisle with Senator Lindsey Graham to expand veterans’ access to military health insurance, ensuring that all members of the Reserves and National Guard—and their families—had access to military health benefits even when they’re not deployed.- Protected family members caring for wounded warriors. Hillary collaborated closely with Senator Chris Dodd to author and introduce new legislation that aimed to broaden protections afforded by the Family and Medical Leave Act to the family members of wounded service members. She is proud that the legislation was enacted as part of the 2008 National Defense Authorization Act.- Supported survivors of fallen service members. Working with Republican Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, Hillary sponsored legislation to expand benefits afforded to surviving spouses. She and Republican Senator Chuck Hagel also introduced a bill to increase the gratuity paid to family members of fallen veterans from $12,000 to $100,000; the proposal was enacted as part of the 2005 supplemental appropriations act. Hillary also served as an honorary board member for the non-profit Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, which provides resources and support to family members of those who have died in military service.- Joined efforts to build veterans rehabilitation center. Hillary joined with Republican Senator John McCain to personally raise money for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. Their efforts were critical to building the Center for the Intrepid, a new $50 million state-of-the-art physical rehabilitation facility in San Antonio, Texas, designed specifically to help seriously wounded service members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.- Played a role in bringing one war to an end and planning for the end of another. Working closely with Department of Defense colleagues and as part of the President’s national security team, Secretary Clinton played a role in the end of war in Iraq and in beginning a transition in Afghanistan, with all NATO allies having agreed to stand-up a post withdrawal support plan. As President Obama told 60 Minutes, it was “all a consequence of the great work that Hillary did and her team did and the State Department did in conjunction with our national security team.”DJ Trump’s Historical Record:- While he never served in the military, he “always felt” that he had because he attended a private, military-themed prep school (New York Military Academy at Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y.) that gave him “more training militarily than a lot of the guys that go into the military.”- Trump said: “Anyway so I never had to (do military service), but I felt that I was in the military in the true sense because I dealt with those people.”- When asked by Chuck Todd on NBC’s “Meet the Press” where he gets his military advice, Trump said, “I watch the shows… I mean, I really see a lot of great — you know, when you watch your show and all of the other shows, and you have the generals and you have certain people that you like.”

Does the color of a German Shepherd dog correlate with the health of the dog (for example, if a black GS dog has fewer health issues, will he be a certain color)?

No, to your specific question; Katie Bjorkman’s answer is right on.Leaving aside the dilutes and their specific issues, I’d add that your dog’s specific type, bloodline, and near-relatives’ health history[*] is far more predictive of your dog’s future health than color. Good GSD breeders will consider all these in breeding decisions, as well as keep detailed lifelong health records for all dogs they breed, and test hips, elbows, etc to verify soundness of breeding prospects. IMO the best breeders will also wait till their dogs are fully grown - at least 24 months - before breeding, and only breed dogs (male AND female) whose working ability has been shown by them earning _working_ title(s) and whose temperament is steady.Look for the good breeders. Avoid the guy with a breeding pair of AKC-registered dogs in the back yard, and avoid the kennels who think they’ll make money breeding lots of litters. All these people produce dogs prone to great suffering.[*] For example, bloat, or gastric torsion, is pretty common in GSDs and other deep-chested, high-waisted breeds. Even the folks at Tufts veterinary school don't really know what causes it, but the most reliable predictor of the risk for an individual dog is a first-degree relative that had bloat. Really good breeders who keep long-term health records, who only breed from dogs with such records, will generally produce fewer dogs that bloat. Our Bonien, though the top GSD in three countries in Europe in 2005 and a dog of well-regarded breeding, nearly died from her first episode of bloat at age 10. She had to have her spleen removed, and at the same time had her stomach ‘tacked’ to her body wall so it couldn't twist (“torsion”) but she bloated up to 5x/day for the rest of her life, poor girl. Lots of simethicone, gentle walking, and acupressure (google it, there's a page showing it for Irish wolfhounds). She passed at 12.5, five years ago. Miss her still - and still angry at the breeders who can't be bothered to breed first for health. Here is Bonien vom haus Milesevac, two days before her passing, beloved in Vermont.
