At first, I thought of going anonymous but then realised that why should I hide my identity just because of a few inappropriate comments and abuses?I am a resident of West Bengal, currently persuing my B.E. from Jadavpur University current staying at Kolkata, the state capital.I found that most of the answers written are factually incorrect and one-third of them are just propaganda! Only a few of them are written logically with facts supporting them. The national media (the boot lickers) are busy defaming Bengal just to ease the condition of BJP and sow seeds of hatred so that communal harmony is destroyed and a part of society become loyal vote bank of BJP. All political parties are bothered about vote bank, be it TMC or BJP.The common question that most of the people ask is why is Kolkata note development like other metropolitan cities? Just because of Mamta Banerjee ?I personally don't think so because the economic condition was ruined before she came to power. She has been in power since 2011 and the social and economic aspects of the state is comparatively much better. The project will transform Bengal into a Green Bengal.Shishu Sathi Scheme Shishu Sathi scheme is to provide free treatment to children below 18 years age, who need heart surgeries, irrespective of how rich or poor the parents are.But no leader is ideal in today's world and Mamta Banerjee is no exception. The few incidents and policies which I personally criticize are -Restriction put by the state government on immersion of Durga Puja idols on Dashami since that day clashed with Muharram. Since years we have lived as brothers and it was no trouble hosting both at the same time. This helped RSS and BJP gain grounds in BengalBy barring Durga idol immersions on Muharram, Mamata hands BJP one more issue to capitalise onHigh Court Cancels Mamata Banerjee's Order On Durga Puja Idol ImmersionPension is given to Imams. I believe Muslims are not a minority in Bengal as they constitute roughly 30% of the total population. Ultimately the money is of taxpayers and the government has no right to waste it in a useless way. This just damaged control of the first point. Needless to say, she has already tried to do something, but a more honest effort was required to boost up health sectorAlso, west Bengal suffers from unemployment with youth flocking to Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Gurgaon and Even abroad. But you can't expect much from the state government when unemployment is highest in 45 years in the whole nation. The central government needs to take a larger part of the blame but state government cannot wash off its hands from this.Every party has goons, similarly, TMC also has few who makes headlines for wrong reasons and feeds the space of national media. Goons are goons, they will remain goons and just change political parties depending on who is in power. But TMC has a very strong support base in west Bengal just because of Mamta Banerjee. Without her, TMC will evaporate overnight. Leaders like Mahua Maitra has now risen to fame and give a face to the party beside other senior TMC leaders.Many people are optimistic that BJP will win 2021 after securing 18 seats in Lok sabha. But they forgot State election is very different from Lok sabha election and now we can see BJP losing 5 State Government after massive Lok sabha win. I suggest them to look at vote share Percentage of each political party. To their horror, they will realise that TMC has not only consolidated its vote share but has also managed to increase it by 2–3%!The only reason for BJP to win those seats was because of CPI-M votes which went to BJP. In-state elections BJP is very less likely to get those votes after setting the country to unrest with CAA NPR NRC. 2021 will be a tough fight and now no one can predict what will be the outcome.I will just end with saying that Mamta Banerjee is one of the politicians who rose to power after a lot of struggle. She got beaten up on multiple occasions but still fought bravely. She is also a human and has many shortcomings. You definitely cannot expect everything from her. She has a soft corner for Muslims but not at the cost of Hindus. Government is secular and she promotes communal harmony. But since propaganda is all around you won't lack people spreading lies. The ultimate judge will be the people of BengalJay Hind 🇮🇳

The BJP-RSS, along with several propaganda channels in the media, and many fake news websites have been carrying out malicious propaganda to malign the image of Bengal and stir communal tension in the State. The truth however is different. People of all faiths live in Bengal in harmony. There is also a trend to brand the Bengal Govt as pro-minority and anti-Hindu; it is absolutely false. Here are some of the initiatives by the Govt for Hindus only:Every year, Mamata Banerjee performs Kali Puja at her residence at Kalighat. She fasts during the day and prepares the 'bhog' (offering to the Goddess), plays host to scores of guests, which included VVIPs, cabinet colleagues, politicians and commoners.Soon after coming to power, the Mamata Banerjee government had taken up to preparing a plan for the area’s beautification. Gates have been made on the main entrances.To ease traffic congestion in Dakshineswar, the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) has taken up initiative to build a skywalk in the area. The riverfront at the Dakshineswar temple complex has been beautified. The project included landscaping, beautification and preservation of water bodies, construction of paved walkways and toilets, setting up of drinking water facilities and upgrade of the parking space.The state government is constructing a jetty at Dakshineswar to help pilgrims visit the temple complex taking the river route. The Rs 5.5-crore project would help create a vital link in the Ramakrishna-Sarada-Vivekananda circuit along the Hooghly connecting Belur Math, Kuthi Ghat in Baranagar and Dakshineswar through a ferry service.The Government is also planning to develop a circuit along the Hooghly connecting Dakshineswar, Belur and Bagbazar, all the important temples around the city.The state government has drawn up a plan to tourist circuit surrounding temple town Tarapith in Birbhum district. The government has sanctioned Rs 9.80 crore for development Tarapith and a weekly helicopter service will be available from Kolkata to reach there every Saturday.A 'Baul Mela' is now organised before the famous 'Jaydev Kenduli' Mela. The state tourism department has come up with a Rs 20 crore plan to develop a heritage eco tourism circuit in Birbhum. The authorities have already started building lodges and cottages and will revamp the areas surrounding Tarapith, Bakreswar and Kenduli. Kirtan artists alongside Bauls are being brought under Lok Prasar prakalpa and given monthly incentives.As many as 50 ghats on the Hooghly River have been selected for renovation and 12 new vessels will be constructed to develop water transport. The Ghats are being used for different Hindu religious purposes including Chhat and the immersion of idols. The Ghats will be illuminated with adequate lighting facilities and seating arrangement will be available.Every year, the state government and take a number of measures to avoid any untoward incident and deploy more than 10,000 policemen and volunteers to provide assistance to the pilgrims. More than 150CCTVs were are installed at various places to keep a close watch. A drone and 20 vessels are used for surveillance. The Kapil Muni temple has been already been renovated and a new guest house attached to it has been inaugurated for the pilgrims.Mamata Banerjee has started tbe branding of Durga Puja, made it internationally famous and starting the Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman.The Kolkata Municipal Corporation doesnot charge any tax on advertisement hoardings of puja committees, and the CESC has been directed to allow a rebate of 18 per cent on power charges at pandals. All district police headquarters and police commissionerates have been directed to give 25 puja committees maintained by women and 25 clubs without sufficient funds Rs 10,000 each to help them in performing Durga Puja.Every year, Mamata Banerjee paints the eyes of the Durga idol in a pandal near her residence.The West Bengal government is developing an international tourist centre around Roy Villa - the century old heritage house in Darjeeling where Sister Nivedita breathed her last. The "Nivedita Educational & Cultural Centre"housed there has been inaugurated by Mamata Banerjee.The state government has plans to develop a tourism circuit covering places in Bankura district like Bishnupur, famous for terracotta temples belonging to 17th and 18th centuries.The Bengal Government has started Samabyathi scheme to offer financial aid to underprivileged people to enable them to perform the last rites of their near and dear ones. Several crematoriums have been moderinized including Keoratala, Nimtala, Garia And Siriti.Moreover, the various schemes of the Govt - Kanyashree, Yuvashree, Sabuj Sathi, Sabuj Shree, Khadya Sathi, Geetanjali among others - are for people of ALL religions.
