How can we grow female entrepreneurship in South Africa?

This is a very pertinent question and which is equally baffling. And with the billions of state and private funding afforded to black citizens, the growth of black entrepreneurship over a quarter of a century has been dismal. This especially exacerbates the problem of unemployment to a rapidly increasing black population who remains dependent on a diminishing white-owned formal private sector and Small Medium Enterprises (SME’s) for majority of non-government employment. There is absolutely no reason or barrier preventing female entrepreneurship in South Africa… this especially applies to black females. In spite of populist rhetoric, females, especially black females (as well as black males) in SA are afforded great support (financial, hands-on assistance and moral support) in entrepreneurial projects. There are no private organisations, NGO’s or Government Depts that I know of that will fund white females or whites in general. If a white wants funding, unlike blacks, then they have to enter unequal (at least 51%) black partnerships, managers and have demographic employment numbers. Here is a list of organisations that specifically or also fund females (blacks only… sorry no whites).Enablis Acceleration FundBusiness Partners Women in Business FundNational Empowerment Fund (NEF)Isivande Women’s Fund (IWF)IDF Managers Funding Alitheia Identity Fund (AIF)Then there are other entities that also assist and fund black entrepreneurs and small enterprises in general (not gender-specific… and sorry no whites)…SEDA Technology ProgrammeAgro-Processing Support Scheme (APSS)Support Programme for Industrial Innovation (SPII)The Aquaculture Development and Enhancement Programme (ADEP)Export Marketing and Investment Assistance Scheme (EMIA)The Sector Specific Assistance Scheme (SSAS)R&D Tax IncentiveThen there are organisations and NGO’s that specifically don't allow whites at all (and only as normal employees).Black Industrialists Scheme (BIS)Tourism Transformation FundGrowth FundThen other funding with very specific skill and educational status application criterion (also restricts whites).Technology Innovation Agency (TIA)National Youth Development Agency (NYDA)Then specific criterion loan and funding organisations (in some cases offered to whites but only with strict BBBEE certification)…Industrial Development Corporation (IDC)Small Enterprise Finance Agency (Sefa) — works with the IDCTechnology Venture Capital Fund – – provides equity or debt funding to emerging technology-focused businesses to enable the conversion of technology-rich South African intellectual property into a market-ready product, and ultimately its commercialisation.Automotive and Transport Equipment – fund provides a minimum of R1-million (in the form of equity) to the manufacturer or the assembler of automotive and transport equipment to build global competitiveness.IDC’s Strategic Business Unit (SBU) for clothing and textiles offers support to a variety of businesses across the sector, ranging from creators of home decor to leather goods producers, to manufacturers of natural or synthetic fabrics.Chemical Products and Pharmaceuticals Fund – provides finance to stimulate the growth of the manufacturing sector (for chemical, plastics and pharmaceutical products).Machinery and Equipment – this fund aims to improve the competitiveness of downstream manufacturing of machinery and capital equipment where it can be shown that the products have the potential to expand to new markets, as well as create new jobs. How do I get funding to build a college in South Africa?

I think you might want to check out organization such as NRF (national research foundation) or NYDA (National Youth development agency) though am not 100% sure if they can assist that much, check with the department of higher education they are now in charge of the FET and TVET colleges so they should be able to assist, so yeah all the best, I think that's a brilliant idea, and I hope you do fulfill it. All the best.
