What is the driving distance between Johannesburg and Cape Town?

About 1450 km, depending on exactly where you start and end. The N1 can be quite busy. I much prefer the N12, which is the same distance. It has several modest guesthouse options in small towns between Kimberley and Beaufort West, which offer great Karoo hospitality.

Where is the Micromax brand?

Tl;DR -Not in a good place.Long version :As the most upvoted answer from @Amit Batra in this thread rightly points out, Micromax really didn't have a game plan. Most of what they did was import Chinese phones and slap a Micromax branding on them. This was a time when Apple was too damn expensive, Android was not really stable, Nokia was going nowhere with Symbian and Windows were still struggling with Apps. They were good at one thing - they knew what kind of models the urban Indian customer wanted for 2009–2010 season.Once they built some brand value, they started milking it.Now they started selling smartphones for throw away prices. Even When most people found the quality abysmal, there was always one Micromax guy in every group who used to swear on it. The company owes their entire existence to these guys. Then, the tide turned. The Chinese saw the potential of the Indian market. They started sending out the right signals to the Indian customers. They priced their phones with ridiculously low margins. The Indian customers lapped up quite literally every phone launched by them. With the big guns Xiaomi, Vivo, Lenovo, Oppo and OP in the game, Micromax had nowhere to run. But the funny thing is, they STILL chose to sell their strategy by throwing more money towards marketing. Yawn.Micromax Infinity N12, Infinity N11 to Go on Sale in India TodayEven now Micromax has not really given up. They are trying their luck with new launches. But their brand value has taken a huge slump and right now even cheaper brands have built a good brand image around themselves. For example, everyone knows Xioami phones are cheap. But does anyone go ‘Eww you have a cheap Chinese phone?’. No. They dont. So even cheaper phones are carried around with pride since they offer performance and durability similar to $1000 flagships. So Micromax has an uphill task as they failed to capitalize on their hey-days. But they are not done yet.
