How long can the Australian government cope with two senior ministers on sick leave?The whole thing about ministers being able to go on sick leave is so shady. I wonder why these people are not required to get their medical certificates approved by the same Centrelink assessors as the rest of the Australian government unemployed workers, who make up fifty percent of the Australian workforce.It is so strange though that in the Covid melee no one one paid attention to the stunningly shabby treatment Scott Morrison served out to Ms Christine Holgate, the Australia Post CEO who was treated like such trash, years after the misogyny speech of Julia Gillard. I am no fan of Pauline Hanson, but it was heartening to see her speak out against the extremely shabby treatment of the unfortunate woman.But, not to worry, as Ms Peta Credlin is going strong, trying to get the French Submarine Contract cancelled and bring home the contract back to UK, where her ex-boss Tony Abbott is working extra hours to bring UK back in control of the Australian situation, redefining the CANZUK economy.How long can the government cope? I’ve written a few answers. Here’s another one. We needed a medical certificate for a Centrelink claim so I made an online appt for my husband. I have to go with him. That was done. As we were leaving I realised I needed an appointment for a repeat script, so I asked the receptionist to make one, but we thought we’d check if the Dr was free, which she was. Because I have 3 auto immune diseases she asked if I’d had Fluvax, which I had, as it was done at my work. Then she asked about my husband who had not had it. Back I go to the waiting room, call him, he gets his Fluvax free, because he also has a chronic illness. That’s done. I decide our daughters need theirs. Uh oh, by this time, a week later our clinic has run out. I find another bulk billing (free) clinic up the street, they’ve got plenty of stock, they get the jab. One pays $15 the other is free as she has a history of childhood asthma. Total cost? $15. Waiting time? 1–3 days only because of our schedules. Bit of a long story but you get the idea. We’re now doing CoVid tests for asymptomatic people, they’re all set up at several hospitals etc and big shopping centres. No charge.

Centrelink can be difficult - You may need to provide passport or Birth Certificate and other identification . I don’t know what sort of payment you might receive if accepted, because as a New Start (Unemployment) participant you may need to be very close to having some sort of qualifications for employment. In any situation you need to have some sort of recognized identification.If you are in danger of violence that can be a factor in good assistance. I also know there are quite a few young people who couch surf among friends and relatives or even get to the point of taking refuge on the streets rather than stay in a bad home situation. There are also people living out of their vehicle due to loss of housing.youth help and advice South Australia at DuckDuckGoI migh have mentioned YMCA once upon a time because they had hostels where you could stay, but I cannot find mention of it. Salvation Army is another, though how much help they can be when it is cold and they are all trying to pull people off the streets for their health. There are also backpacker hostels in the city.If you can’t find anything of use in the link, do you have access to some kind of School Counselor? If you are at risk of physical violence and have marks or medical records and don’t find help in the links, you may have to report to a Police Station.Good Luck.
