Medic BallingIn the game Planetside 2(it’s best description is a bit like the Battlefield games on steroids), there’s a class called the Combat Medic. As the name suggests the Combat Medic’s role is to heal or even revive the recently dead. He does it with the help of this tool…The Medical Applicator. It shoots a green beam that seeks out and heals/revives the affected player/rotting-corpseNote, that the healing works even when the player being healed is shot at(basically, he gets a tad bit tankier), but it isn’t fast enough to keep up with the damage taken. In other words, the healed player is only going to take slightly longer to kill.However, this only happens if there are one or two medical applicators being used on the same person at one time. We basically asked the question, what would happen if we had several squads worth of medics?And thus the Medic Ball was born…This isn’t us by the way. A bunch of people did it way before us. We just used the concept for funWe were the mass of glowing green, attracting all the attention and fire. We were effectively invincible. While individual medics could die(we died a lot), we would just get picked up by other medics, and we would continue to walk(you can’t use the applicator while sprinting) and heal each other on the way to the base. We were the unstoppable force . We literally had tanks taking cover behind us. That’s just how much fire we were soaking up.Unfortunately however, we eventually attracted so much attention, that a combined infantry, armour and air attack was enough to wipe us all out without leaving enough time for us to revive each other.But for that moment, that time we spent playing literal god, simply by using a little creativity. It was epic.

It’s not in itself completely ridiculous, unlike his idea about disinfectant, because iirc targeted light is sometimes used to kill tumours, so it *does* have medical applications. But the virus is mostly inside your cells, so as as Mats says, to have much effect on the virus the UV source would have to be so strong that it would itself probably kill you. And if it didn’t, it would hugely increase your long-term risk of cancer.
