If they are non-compliant, they may face heavy fines. It definitely cost effort in order to comply when you collect and process Personal Data of EU netizens. This Personal Data includes Name, address, email address, phone number and anything else which a person can be identified from.Check out this GDPR complete compliance checklist:Step I: Create a lawful basis and ensure transparency:Conduct an information audit to determine what information you process and who has access to it.Have a legal justification for your data processing activities.Provide clear information about your data processing and legal justification in your privacy policyStep II: Ensure data protection by design and by default:Data protection has to be taken into account at all times. When developing a new product or service and every-time you are processing data.Make sure to encrypt, anonymize and pseudonymize personal wherever possible.Setup an internal security policy and ensure your employee are aware.Understand when to conduct a data protection (DP) assessment, and have the process set up so you can carry it out instantly.Ensure that you have a procedure in place regarding what to do and whom to contact in the event of a data breach. However, it seems there are not many GDPR compliance certification officers yet. If they are there, they are scarce and often expensive. It’s important to start doing the procedure yourself and appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPO).…so why is it important to comply?Since it’s the intention of the GDPR to protect the personal data of EU citizens wherever it is held; there are strict requirements governing where personal data can be transferred to and the measures that must be in place for such as transfer to be legal. The penalties for contravening the GDPR are significant and care must be taken by your company to ensure that we remain within the law at all times.Source: GDPR Compliance Document Templates The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the most important change in data privacy regulation in 20 years. This policy directive was adopted in May 2016 because most Europeans say they want the same data protection rights across the EU and regardless of where their data is processed. It aims to make Europe fit for the digital age. Please UPVOTE if you like this answer!

Is the Presearch cryptocurrency a good investment?

Disclaimer: I am in no way at this moment a certified or otherwise established financial advisor and please keep in mind that you should take my words with a grain of salt. Please exercise proper judgement and don't invest what you are not willing to lose.I’d like to point out real quickly that right now Presearch is currently in an ICO as of 8/17/17. ICOs are incredibly risky as it’s the emergence of a new coin in the market. Please take extra care when investing in Presearch as the sky’s the limit at the moment.First thing’s first, I would refer to my personal checklist for buying a cryptocurrency. Joseph Damico's answer to What is your investment checklist before you buy a cryptocurrency? The first question I’d ask myself is: Will it be viable in the next 5 years?Presearch, based on what I’ve read on their primary website, is a cryptocurrency aimed at providing a decentralized search engine powered by the community. When millions of internet users globally go to look up…lets say information regarding dog breeds, more likely than not they’ll go to utilize top search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. Creating a decentralized engine that is controlled, maintained, and driven by the community sounds good at least on paper. The main challenge is overcoming the challenges that many cryptocurrencies face today, which include, but are not limited to:Mainstream adoptionAwarenessEase of useWith those in mind, (and reading various sections on their website Presearch) it seems evident that this is a project that I feel holds potential to be viable in the next 5 years. The second question I’d ask myself is: Does it provide a use in society?I believe this coin holds a use in society today as it’s a token-based system for a decentralized search engine. It’s arguable that Google holds the biggest stake in search engines, which allows them to control more than what we possibly know right now. In fact, Google only recently was the subject of a $2.7 billion dollar EU Anti-Trust case (Google Fined Record $2.7 Billion in E.U. Antitrust Ruling). This kind of coin has its place in a society where privacy and shady behind-the-scenes deals are coming to light more and more. The third and last question I’d ask myself is Is there active development currently in place?Looking into the website, it seems pretty evident that there is active development on the project. You can read more about it on the White Paper. (https://www.presearch.io/uploads/WhitePaper.pdf)In conclusion: Yes, this cryptocurrency looks to be something to keep in the radar; however, this is still in it’s crowdfunding stage so please keep an open mind.I’d like to point out one more thing: I am in no way affiliated with any of the Presearch development team; I am only a cryptocurrency enthusiast and hold no degree or training in Blockchain technology or any form of cryptocurrency. The following answer is only the result of my own personal opinion and I have not consulted with any financial advisors or otherwise a person of qualification.

What is the estimated cost of ISO27701? I have seen estimates about ISO27001 (around 80k USD) but none about ISO27701. Both are cited to be essential in moving towards GDPR compliance.

Do not believe in anybody who says that some certification is essential/required/needed/worthy towards GDPR. They are only trying to squeeze money out of you.I’ve been studying GDPR since its inception in 2014 and I’ve been working (as DPO data protection officer and otherwise) for a few customers of mine. I was also, unfortunately, involved in a data breach case and I’ve heard from a national data privacy supervisory authority and worked with them.GDPR is explicitly not about a checklist of things to be done. The best thing you can do is taking a day and reading it all — it’s available in a dozen languages — then googling the details you find interesting in your case and you are uncertain you’ve understood. In a nutshell GDPR requires your company to study its own specific way of doing IT, question its methods and procedures, enhance them privacy-wise and grant users (at least users living in EU, but hopefully everyone) some specific rights. Nobody can do that but you. An external consultant might be of help. A certification is normally not very useful, with the possible partial exception of being a signpost which shows you are doing something and moving in the right direction — and in very large organisations this can be helpful in steering the boat.See also my answers to the following questions on QuoraIs there a certified body to ensure GDPR compliance given the deadline of May 25 for the legislation?Which companies will likely to be targeted by EU regulators after GDPR is in effect?Does every company need to appoint a GDPR officer? How can I become a data protection officer? What will be the penalties if one fails to comply with the GDPR?I can't afford a lawyer for a GDPR compliant terms and conditions, what should I do?Till now how many countries passed the GDPR law?And possiblyCan a DPO refuse to take incorrect instructions from their employer as a conflict of interest of their duties? What can be done if user asks to delete all their personal records because of GDPR but the business requires to keep some of user's data indefinitely? What can I do if GDPR harms my business?Who imposes fines for GDPR violations, national governments or EU level? What about companies with no physical presence in the EU?Have there been any GDPR cases filed against small businesses? Are companies permitted to share your personal data with third party without authorization? How about banks? What does GDPR mean?
