Still they went ahead and deposited my cheque, did a medical test on wife. End result, they charged Rs 1728 for medical testing and rejected the insrurance on the grounds that my wife was on insulin. Why did the company even perform a medical test given that i had informed that my wife was a diabetic and was using insulin, if that is the grounds for rejection of policy ? It's easy money for them. How many thousands of rejections do the company do every year ? I have already sent an e-mail in this regard to the redressal officer at Max Bupa and no reply from them. I am next going to send a query to the IRDAI. This is nothing short of a scam.Max Bupa consumer redressal officer failed to contact me despite me sending them e-mails. After i posted this info on facebook, i finally got a call from their redressal officer. A lot of back and forth calls happened and i was assured that they would do their best. And finally all they did was come back and say that they followed the procedure and there is nothing wrong with their process. Making mony out of these medical tests is a huge money spinner and obvisouly their consumer redressal officers are part of this scam. Their redressal process is just sweet talk and eye wash. In the end some kind of investigative journailsm has to expose this kind of scam and some legislation has to be passed to contain this kind of malpractice. Until that happens, consumers need to be aware and try to avoid these kind of companies.
