PDF Editor FAQ
What do you think about Hwasa Mamamoo's outfit controversy?
Okay so I’m going to prefice this by saying that I myself am only carribean and so I myself was not offended by this but I understand that some African fans were and if they feel hurt in anyway they totally have a right to feel as they do.Now for people who dont know whats going on I’ll tell they story, she is currently filming a program with I live alone o n youtube. A teaser was released where she was wearing a patterned top and head wrap and thee captions read that it was an upmarket version of her usual ‘sauna look’, making a referance to her wrapping her hair in a towel repeatedly on the show and in real life like thisto this see?Now the problem arose from the quick clip we see, in which she supposedly appologised to the people in the lift for shocking them by being dressed so unusually, and they replied its all right we already saw na-rae and guessed they were filming something. Now we didn’t get to see the lift scene, only hear her explaination to na-rae and them laughing. Now just to be clear, she was in the MBC building, an office building late at night, dressed up and many shows who film in costumes in offices they are normally embarressed when they come across office workers. This is not an excuse but just some context. Now from there we got someone on twitter translating this scene with fake subtitles below, and whilst this was lateer debunked by offical translators the damage was already done. From this people started saying she dressed up in traditional african cloths to scare people, and when they heard MBC made a statementahd here we can see them saying the headpeice is related to her towel wraping and is called so in all of the subs related to this and they had no idea how this was related to African culture but had no intentions to make fun.Now here is where things got really bad and where I got mad. Now Africa is a continent so has huge variety in the styles of dress and traditional clothing, even in Nigeria there are hundreds of tribes with huge differences in styles of dress and language which is where the confusion arose from. From what I have been able to learn, of the people offended by the use of thier culture the only thing that is relvent to them is the headwrap style, the pattern is not thiers and has nothing to do with them (if you look close you can see its paisley), and they dont mind people wearing it, as long as it is not done to make fun of it or scare people. From the youtube comments of kbizz’s video on the subject, the majority say the same thing, we like the representation but if this is as rumored to scare people we are mad. I for one can vouch for this as my best Friend is Nigerian and she always tells me how excited people are to make forigners wear thier traditonal dress. Meanwhile people who saw her dressed this way assumed everything about this is African and must be CA and so it must be wrong and started hating on her to the point of threatening violence on their personal fancafe.Honestly it felt like someone found a way to make people hate her again and jumped on it to make fake subs. Some are saying the black fans who turned thier backs went to early considering how well we know her but thing is we only see the public face of our idols, we all imagine we know them well and know they would never want to hurt us but people are finding out thier signiifcant others are compeltely different than they thought after living with them for 30+ years so how can we really know them completely? At the end of the day this is something we are very sensitive about, and the current BLM movement has increased peoples awareness but also our struggle as people are now saying it means our lives matter most when all it is trying to say is that our lives matter just as much as other races and we want to be treated like they do.My take on all this? Well as I said I’m not African so I dont feel at all competent to decide if this is right or not, and people need to stop profiling every pattern and headdress as blanket African, its just rude and racist. If there is a problem that is offensive to a certain culture, they will let us know and from there we should support them in getting listened to, but we should never insigate as it is not our culture and we do not know anything about how they would react. Not to mention this was only a teaser sliced togeather to make the episode preview, we don’t know te full context or even the challenge they got assigned as yet. Not to mention if you watch the show they often dress up and hang out togeather and thier last project was to make a song.People cite her previous instances of being told about black history, but how is that relevent? she was informed about African American history, so the slave trade and civil rights movement, how is that relevent to a whole other continents culture and history? Yes that is a chance to make sure she knows to be careful when using someone elses culture, but it raisies the question does she even know what that is? Has she or the people around her ever seen African dress? African American culture is centered around America, Carribean culture is very different from that (down to even languages) and we are vastly different from both Africa and American black culture. How is it that by learning about the slave trade she should automtically know about all 3? I’m black and only properly know my own not even American, and not even close to knowing alot about another contentents with vast varietys in language and cultures.EDIT…..So talking on yt someone south east asian was able to clarify and I got permisison to repost it and it clears this issue right up so heremabel merin13 hours agoAs a southeast asian I want to clear things up. The attire she wore is called differently in many southeast asian countries; Baju Kelawar Batik (malaysia, indonesia, singapore) kaftan Nida (korea) Daster (Philippines). Its a common wear for us southeast asians especially older women after a hot bath and we even wrap our hair like she did. Even some go to the market wearing them. We have been wearing this for a very long time. Southeast Asian have an interconnection of cultures because trades were common in between countries Centuries ago. She did not deserve hate. And to be fair I reached out to my Nigerian friends and they said its not their attire, what she wore is different in their own tribes. This issue blew up because of a malicious mistranslated tweet and was shared by Popbase😑 withouth researching if it was really true. People should not be fast to judge or hate on her. But must also look up southeast asian culture as well because it is pretty diverse and interconnected. Hope this helps. I just want to spread awareness on this topic to prevent further misunderstanding.
Have you ever met someone from the Mafia?
When I was a little girl, people would stop my parents on the street to tell them what a beautiful daughter they had — but they weren’t talking about me. They were talking about my sister. She was ‘Miss America’ beautiful, 6 years older and, because of my mother’s chronic illness, more like a mother to me than my own mother. It may surprise you that it was not my nature to be jealous of her. I just marveled, with the rest of the mere humans, at her perfectly balanced features. She looked like every fairy princess in my story books. And nothing would make me happier than when, very occasionally, someone would squint their eyes at my asymmetrical face and say, “You know, you look a bit like your sister.”In our current age of glorious female empowerment, people will call me shallow for having been so focused on mere physical beauty, and I won’t argue with them. I’m sure I was. But I came from a generation where a woman’s physical appearance was very nearly her only value. And, naturally, my parents, being products of their generation, reinforced the idea that if I wasn’t beautiful, how would I find a man who would marry and take care of me? In their eyes, what more important goal could a woman have?So it was a welcome relief when, around the age of 15, I grew into my square jawline and bushy, bushy eyebrows, and men began to look at me with, we’ll call it, ‘earnest’. Not young men, mind you, but grown men — and sometimes much older men. The boys my age still found me odd and unattractive but, indeed, I had morphed into an exotic and eye catching young woman. Ironically, even though I apparently now had the credentials to compete in the man-bagging-conspiracy (MBC), and all three of my older sisters had married at 17, I had no interest in bagging a man, preferring instead to have myself an adventure. And then one night in 1980 at a party somewhere in L.A., a tall, striking woman approached and handed me her business card. I looked down and read the words under her name, “Model & Talent Agency, Hollywood, CA.” She looked me up & down, slowly, and then said, “You will call me tomorrow.” It wasn’t a question, and I managed to obediently respond, “O…kay….” And then she was gone as quickly as she’d appeared. And that was how it began — I became a model. And though I saw in photographs, and discerned from romantic attention, that I was indeed quite fetching…(Headshot 1983, 22 years old)…still when I looked in the mirror, I saw the awkward child of my youth staring back at me; an imposter, whose perfect hair & makeup-mask could fool the world with her illusion. Back then, I could scarcely check my mailbox without my full disguise for fear of being found out. Thankfully, I’m now more comfortable wearing nary a stitch of makeup. But now, as I write this, I’m in my late fifties, and I look back over my life and smile remembering all the fascinating people I’ve known and the exciting places I’ve been. So please forgive my vanity, but I was, as Rose says in The Titanic, ‘a hot number’ in my day. I played the cards I was dealt and, perhaps because of that, I had some very interesting friends.Nearly every Sunday of 1993, I had dinner at a mafia boss‘s mansion.I was friends with a bona fide gangster — the real deal. I’ll call him “Jay” so as not to ruffle any feathers. Though anyone who knew the L.A. scene in the 90s can probably guess who “Jay” was, I will neither confirm nor deny your suspicions.Jay had worked his way up to the rank of capo. He was married, but his wife lived on the east coast. He took care of her, but they lived separate lives. He had girlfriends, but they were made to understand that he would never divorce his wife because, as my friend Louie put it, “As a traditional Italian, you NEVER abandon the mother of your children.” He was a dear friend of my best friend, Dee. And over time, she would become his L.A. best friend. Though girlfriends came & went through the mansion door, it was Dee who remained his constant confidant.I met Jay on Halloween night 1992 at a swanky West Hollywood restaurant called Nicky Blair’s, named after the owner, which sat in the middle of Sunset Boulevard's paparazzi row next to Le Dome — and it was Jay’s favorite restaurant. Nicky, the owner, was an actor who had been in over 75 movies, and even had a small part in ‘The Godfather Part III’. Nicky seemed to know everyone in Hollywood, and for a time, his restaurant was “the place to be seen” for the rich & famous. One night I stood three feet away from Tony Curtis, too starstruck to make a sound. His hair was white, and his eyes were the most beautiful blue. He was shockingly handsome. Another time, Sylvester Stallone came in for dinner, and Dee nearly fainted when he stopped by our table to say hello. We also met Magic Johnson, sat in a booth schmoozing with the famous running back Eric Dickerson, and saw Chuck Norris there a few times. There were so many others, but I can’t remember them all now.Nicky’s maître d’, Charlie Guardino, was one of the most charming hosts I’ve ever known. He made everyone feel important and welcome when they walked through that door. If you’d been there before, he’d remember your name and welcome you back, saying “Where’ve you been? We’ve missed you.“ On a side note, I don’t think Dee & I ever paid for dinner at Nicky’s place. Though we never asked anyone for anything, usually by the time dessert came, someone had pulled our waiter aside to ask for our check. But back to that Halloween night… My friend Dee and I were both dressed as cats — I as a leopard, and she as a panther.Me, back in the day…Jay was sitting with several close friends at a large, round table — ‘his’ table, the best table in the restaurant — when Dee pulled me over to meet him. And when Jay snapped his fingers at the waiter, more promptly than you can imagine, two chairs appeared so we could join them. On my right was my friend Dee, on her right was Jay, and on my left was a famous & very handsome Italian playwright named Louis LaRusso with whom I would soon fall deeply in love and become engaged. On my right, Dee began whispering in my ear that Jay really liked how I looked in that leopard bodysuit, while on my left, Louie was asking if I’d come to his house sometime to see his screenplays. Although Louie was very handsome, and reminded me a bit of Robert De Niro, I had a significant other at the time, and steered the conversation to a more friendly vibe. Two months later, on New Years Eve, I ended the romantic relationship with my boyfriend, who had begun yelling at and belittling me. I knew it was the right decision, and I refused to let the breakup get me down. That night I went with Dee to a New Year’s Eve party in Beverly Hills at Jay’s mansion. I wore 4” red stilettos and a beaded cocktail gown — de rigueur for the early 90s. There were several celebrities there that night, but my favorite was James Coburn, who had as his dates two attractive young gals. And just as soon as those gals went to powder their noses, Dee & I hijacked a very willing Mr. Coburn onto the dance floor. But sadly, and too soon, his gal-friends returned to retrieve their date.Jay always served my favorite champagne, Veuve Clicquot, and several times came by to make sure we were having fun, to fill our champagne glasses to the brim, and give us each New Years Eve kisses. Half way through the evening, Louie appeared, swept me off my feet on the dance floor, and charmed me for the rest of the evening. That man could dance! In his younger days Louie had owned & managed an Arthur Murray Dance Studio.Louie was a passionate, romantic Italian with a soft spot for Irish girls like me, and we fell in love hard & fast. It seemed that in no time at all I was living with him in West Hollywood, and we were engaged. Life was good, and we got along well, most of the time.On weekday mornings we would head out to a nearby track and power-walk a few miles. After our workout we’d go to lunch at a nearby Jewish deli that had the best chicken noodle soup, or Caffé Roma on Rodeo. There were always celebrities at Caffé Roma. Once we saw Rodney Dangerfield, and although Louie knew him, he refused to introduce me — some previous bad blood, I suppose. One day Andrew Dice Clay was there, and when Louie wanted to introduce me, I grimaced at the thought. But Louie assured me that his standup routine was just an act, and that he was, in fact, “a sweetheart of a guy.” I acquiesced, and to my surprise, Louie was right. Andrew turned out to be a truly lovely person. Next to Caffé Roma there was a hair salon where Louie & I got our hair cut for free because Louie was a celebrity. Apparently, when you’re rich & famous, or engaged to someone who is, you get a lot of things for free. I’ll never understand that, but at least Louie always tipped them very generously. One time we had lunch with Frankie Valli and his beautiful wife, Randy Clohessy. Frankie was talking up Louie about an idea he had for a musical based on his band, The Four Seasons. Louie had already worked on the very successful musical, DreamGirls, and Frankie wanted him to write his musical. Louie seemed quiet, and slightly annoyed, throughout the entire lunch. Later, as we drove home, I told Louie how exciting I thought Frankie’s idea was. But Louie had no interest in it, saying “That’s not what I want to write about”, and complaining that whenever he & Frankie got together, that was all Frankie wanted to talk about. Of course, Frankie found another writer, and that musical turned out to be the wildly successful Jersey Boys!In the afternoons we would run errands or go grocery shopping. One time we ran into the brilliant actor, F. Murray Abraham at a market near our home. Louie hadn’t seen him in a while, so they stood chatting and catching up for a long time.In the evenings we’d have a healthy dinner at home, unless we were out with friends at Nicky Blair’s. And after dinner Louie would write his plays and screenplays, and he’d read them to me as they evolved. He knew I loved to write poetry and encouraged me to keep writing. He fancied us a sort of Dashiell Hammett & Lillian Hellman couple. Back then, I was too afraid to write anything other than poetry. I told him that whenever I would reread what I’d written, it seemed to me silly and trite. And then he gave me the best advice about writing. He said, “I remember feeling that way about my own writing, but you just have to keep writing until you write past that.”We were very happy in those days.Tamra & Louie 1993But Sundays… Sundays were always reserved for dinner at the mansion. Jay would get up at 5am to start the red sauce. He loved to cook! He’d make pasta, homemade pizza, Caprese salad with the most beautiful vine-ripe tomatoes & fresh basil, and a warm, crusty Italian bread — of which every inch was buttered to perfection by Jay himself. And all of this was washed down with a deep, rich, red Chianti or Merlot. On sunny days (and most days are in Southern CA) we’d arrive at noon and sit by the pool with our bottomless champagne glasses. You never knew who was going to be there. Sometimes we’d see Mickey Rourke, Eric Roberts, Christopher Walken, Frankie Vallie or Joe Pesci. One time Jay slapped Mickey hard across the face over something of which I have no knowledge, and Mickey was wise to take it without complaint.Often, Nicky Blair would come by, and sometimes he and Jay would argue over silly things, like what brand of pasta was best. Jay thought it was De Cecco, and I still buy that brand today. Nicky swore that was the brand he used at the restaurant, but when Jay dared him to get his keys and prove it, Nicky backed down.Louie’s L.A. best friend was always there, a somewhat famous restaurant owner named Richie Palmer, who would later go on to marry (and divorce) Raquel Welch. Back then, Richie’s girlfriend was the stunningly beautiful & talented (too-good-for-Richie) actress, Cathy Moriarty of ‘Raging Bull” fame.Peter Kramer/Getty Images EntertainmentCathy was a hoot, and we always got along well. She invited us to the premiere of her movie “Matinee”, which debuted that summer. It turned out to be a pretty good movie, too, but it didn’t have enough backing from the studio for advertising to really take off.In the late summer of ‘93, Cathy & Richie would generously cater all the food for our engagement party at Jay’s mansion. Louie’s good friend, Eddie O’Neill from ‘Married With Children’ and “Modern Family” attended.Eddie O’Neill & my second cousin…Louie & me with our engagement cakeDee, reading a poem she wrote for usIronically, one of my fondest memories during that period was of Louie and me having the flu so bad we could barely eat, nor did we have the energy to get out of bed to make any meals. Concerned, Jay called when we didn’t show up for Sunday dinner. Unbeknownst to us, when he discovered how sick we both were, he immediately phoned Nicky, and within a few hours a young waiter arrived at our door with ginger ale, pasta, and bread — enough food for two people for three days. We were both so thankful, and I felt like I was part of the family. We soon recovered and resumed Sunday dinners at the mansion. But on those Sundays by the pool, there were also other people to whom we never spoke. We were told to never make eye contact with, or speak to, a small group of men on the other side of the pool. They were from the east coast and were, as Louie put it, “on the lam”. If we never looked at them, we could never identify them. Louie told me the FBI were always watching Jay’s house. I didn’t know what those men had done, but it was impossible not to steal a glance across the pool every now & then. Frankly, they looked like a bunch of fish out of water to me, smoking their cigarettes, laying in the sun with their fedoras and slacks on. I’m sure they were also told never to look at, or speak to us. But I wonder if they ever did peak across the the pool? They were men, after all.The last time I attended Sunday dinner at the mansion, everyone was there. It was a beautiful October day. We had Merlot & pasta. And when people were starting to leave, Louie & I made the rounds saying goodbye to all our friends. One of Louie’s friends, a Jewish man and a sweetheart of a guy whom I had developed a friendship with, leaned over and lightly kissed me on the cheek just as we were leaving. His wife, a warm & wonderful woman, was standing next to him and she smiled sweetly at me as we left. But sadly, when we got in the car, Louie’s jealousy and temper flared, and he yelled at me all the way home. His jealous outbursts were getting worse as time went on. He knew what the problem was; he just didn’t think he could fix it. I moved back to Orange County a few weeks later. Two months went by, and Louie asked me to come home. I told him I would always love him, but I didn’t think it was our destiny to be together. Seven months later I met Michael, the man I would marry: Tamra Scott-Hunt's answer to What is the saddest experience you have ever had? When Jay found out from Dee that I was happily in love with a new guy, he invited us both to his 1994 New Years’ Eve party. By this time, Louie had moved back to Hoboken, and though Louie was a good friend of his, Jay was so warm & welcoming to us both.Dee, Michael & I, New Years Eve 1994 (wish his eyes were open!)…Dee, “Jay” & I - New Years Eve 1994That was the last time I saw Jay. He died very suddenly of a stroke in 1995 while Dee was on her way to have dinner with him. When she arrived and found that he had already passed away, though she was not entirely surprised, it shattered her heart.A few months before he died, Dee was standing with Jay, as she often did, in the upstairs master suite closet, discussing what he would wear for the day. They’d had their best heart to heart conversations in that closet. He would tell her about the old days when he was young and first starting out. He didn’t have such fine clothes back then. But on this day she told him she’d dreamt they were dancing a beautiful waltz together in heaven — he, with wings on his back. She was wearing a light grey, floor-length, layered chiffon gown that flowed through the air as they moved, and he, a beautifully tailored, medium-grey suit. She knew she couldn’t stay there with him, and that he had to go on without her. Now, standing in his closet, she implored him to see his doctor and to change his diet. Jay smiled and nodded, but I don’t think he took her seriously. He was a man who lived life on his own terms.Nicky Blair moved to Las Vegas to open another restaurant there, but he died soon after in ‘98 of liver cancer.Louie moved back to his row house in Hoboken early in ‘94 to concentrate on his writing. We would remain friends for the rest of his life. He was diagnosed with bladder cancer in ‘98 and was only expected to live a few months, so everything he wrote after that he referred to as his “bonus plays”.The last time I saw Louie was the spring of ‘99. My dear husband, Michael, had died of cancer seven months earlier. I was on a business trip to New York, and when my business there was done I took a cab all the way over to Hoboken and spent 3 days with Louie. The first day we walked all over Hoboken and I took pictures of the beautiful churches there, and of the Twin Towers, which still stood at that time, across the Hudson River. That night, Louie asked me if I wanted to share his bed. But with my husband having recently died, I told him my heart was in no shape for it, and I scurried off to the third floor to snuggle with the cats. The next day we had dinner with one of Louie’s good friends, who was also one of my favorite actors, Danny Aiello. During dinner Danny invited Louie & me to come visit him at his country house so I could meet his family. He was very kind, but I had to get back to my life in California. After I returned home, Louie & I kept in touch through letters and occasional phone calls.Christmas, 2000November 2001I declined his generous offer in the letter above to cast me in that play, so in the summer of 2002, Louie wrote another play specifically for me called “The Ghosts of My Soul” (The Ghosts Of My Soul. By Louis LaRusso ll), and wanted me to come to Hoboken in the spring of 2003 to play the part of myself. I thanked him, but declined, saying, “Louie, I was a model, but I am no actress”. Sadly, he would not live long enough to direct that play. He died less than a year later, in February of 2003. I was the last person to speak with him — a half hour before he died. A nun at the hospice held the phone to his ear. “Louie, it’s Tamra” I said. “I’m calling to tell you that I love you, and to wish you a safe journey. I’ll see you again someday.” It was no more than a whisper, but I heard him respond, “I love you too.” And then, silence. The nun took the phone and told me that it was the first time he’d spoken in days. His cousin Peter called a half hour later to tell me he had passed away just after I called. What a life he lived. And what a legacy he left behind, even working in his last years as a consultant on The Sopranos. And now they are gone, Jay and Nicky and Louie. But Dee & I are still here, and we speak their names often as we recall the remarkable times we had. And we hold them all with love in our memories. They weren’t perfect men, but they were good to us. And they were damn interesting.
Why does everyone hate Mamamoo, especially Hwasa?
SO in general western fans and kpop as a whole are alot less forgiving towards female idols.Back in 2017, after spending the whole year shoving uptown funk into every single remix and cover they could the girls decided to do a tribute to bruno mars at a concert. Fine so far, but they decided to do it using paint to darken thier skin. Now the girls themselves had no idea about blackface and its implications or history but that doesn't change the fact that they did it and people were hurt by this.Within the next few hours they apologised, both in english and korean then made a further apology at thier concert the next day but the damage was already done, the girls would now be know as racists for the rest of thier careers. Now there have been male idols who have also had incidents similar to this, but none has affect thier careers or been used to villainise them as much as we have seen with mamamoo. I mean Jackson once posted a picture of him doing blackface and GD posted a pic in blackface about treyvon martin (if you don’t know, he was a 17yr old black male who was murdered and the entire case lead to a whole uproar, though sadly not a big enough one to make much of a difference since things are exactly the same). But the point is that this was barely a blip in the careers of these men meanwhile it started western fans on a tangent of accusing the girls of CA no matter what they do and making the ininformed think the girls are very contraversial and racist. After that a video surfaced of a radio show hwasa did back in 2015 I believe, and in it she was given the lyrics printed out from melon of beyonces irreplaceable (widely know as hwasa’s role model in life that got her through many tough periods because she was constantly bagged on due to her body and her face not matching the korean beauty standards). This version had the nword in the official lyrics, so she just sang it, not knowing what she was saying. Since then melon has removed it but here is a pic from that timeThis then to international fans became confirmation that the girls, especially hwasa was racist and deserved to be hated on.Since then no matter what the girls do, people automatically start linking it to CA and calling them racists. Its made worse by other fandoms starting rumours of another incident with hwasa to distract anytime thier idols get into an issue. That includessolar dressing like a beggar in the movie train to busan, if you look at the portrayal of homeless people in korea, they always give them tan faces and add dirt marks like this, but when solar did it all of a sudden shes doing blackface again. Now comes the whole MBC mess. She was on a show and they were asked to dress up. Now she is known for being spotted with her hair wet in a towel so the producers dressed her up in a high class version of the normal korean sauna dress (no not the orange suits you see in the more modern saunas, this one is what older women wear in the more rural areas of korea and that was the joke, everything from the style of the towel wrap to the dress if taken from the way these women walk home after a korean sauna). Now an anti made fake subtitles stating she dressed like that to scare people and it was Nigerian, which started a whole fight about culture because Nigeria includes lots of tribes and each have thier own cultural dress, so some were saying they don’t know what people are on about it has nothing to do with them and some thought the headwrap was similar to thier cultures style, there were even some saying they honestly like people wearing thier cultural dress, but if the subs really said she dressed like that to scare people they would be mad and rightfully so. If you check the offical subs, you’ll notice it says that she was in a lift with members of the public and she was shocked they were so calm when she was dressed like she came from a sauna, she asked why and they said they already saw narae and expected it-Solar skin whitening - this time solar was promoting a milk based fash wash saying the secret to cleopatras pretty skin was her milk baths, people said since her skin looked darker when she had a dark wig and was dressed like cleo she must be advertising a skin whitener. Yeah. Then came the people saying she was doing CA by dressing like Cleopatra. Meanwhile lots of modern Egyptians were wondering what people were on about since their culture has as much in common with ancient egypt as the british do with anglo saxons. Both have little to do with the current people in that country apart from a few history documentaries. In case people forget, Egyptians speak Arabic and is a Muslim country. Then came the translation of a vlive hwasa did saying homophobic things, meanwhile the vlive never even happened, and the timing it supposedly did the only using the groups vlive was solar for her solo spit it out.moonbyul the misogynist - so she said she wanted to make a female group like bts, okay so far right? well apparently that made her a misogynist. In reality what she was saying she wanted to make a group with as much control over thier sound and every part of thier music as BTS has, while MMM comes close to that, in the early days thier company controlled them, and still has alot of control over what they can do despite them being alot more free than many other groups, male or female. If you look at any of her interviews she has quite a feminist mindset in general.Hwasa called hrself black - yeah there is no word for tan or dark in korean, so the same word as for black is used and its often up to the translator to write in what they know that person said for context. They wore a bhindi - nope, they wore an urna for an MV. This belongs to Buddhism and Solar is Buddhist.Solar wore a bhindi - nope again she wore a korean wedding dress and it has red dots on the cheeks. This also ties in with the claims of solar doing CA by wearing a korean wedding dress, because apparently korean women can’t wear korean wedding dresses.Moonbyul wore dreads - she had a couple of twists in her hair, just look for youself and decide if thislooks like this. No? thought so.This is only a snippet of what people are doing online, if you want to see more check out these disinformation threadsHere’s an updated thread that debunks the lies antis spread about Mamamoo and factually explains what really happened ⬇️— mamamoo facts (@mamamoodebunked) August 1, 2020and also check out this thread of what the girls have to deal with as a result of this.
