The Xhosa lived and still live in the Transkei and Ciskei. The Zulu's still live in Zululand and the Tswana's in Bophuthatswana and the Venda's in Venda.The only people who can complain that their land was stolen is the original inhabitants of Southern Africa , the Khoikhoi and San people. Blacks and whites who were agriculturists arrived in Southern Africa thousands of years after the Khoikhoi(pastoralists) and San(hunter gatherers)and displaced them in all areas of South Africa.The San .The Apartheid goverment wanted every group to rule themselves in their own area To this end it spent billions building free schools , houses, hospitals and Universities in black areas and townships. People were in fact moved to achieve this goal of self rule for every group in their own area . These removals were never done without offering alternative land and houses in return and was also addressed during the land restitution process from 1996 to 2011 when more than 76000 land claims were finalised and people either recieved land or money as compensation for land taken or removed from during the Apartheid years.What is not known is that Apartheid South Africa spent billions acquiring land for black people from whites in the Apartheid years . This was done to make the black areas larger and economically viable and to prepare them for independence. It was also done to establish the new black townships near the white cities and towns.Black South Africans ended up with more land during Apartheid than they had before Apartheid started.Ultimately Apartheid failed because black people flocked to Apartheid cities and towns in their millions from all over Africa for jobs and a better life . A life better than anywhere else in Africa. They soon out numbered whites in what was previously considered white areas .The Apartheid government realised that self rule by whites in their own area was no longer viable. So when Communism fell in 1989 they siezed the opportunity to release Mandela in 1990 and to start negotiations with the ANC. In a 1992 referendum 68 percent of white people voted in favor of negotiations with the ANC. In 1994 white South Africans handed black people control of the richest and most advanced country in Africa.In South Africa land has to be bought and registered in the deeds office . When the tribed moved for new grazing or for safety the Chief would control the land usage on the new land .The Chief could give and take land away as he saw fit. Black land ownership was tribal , transient and there was no registered black land owners in ancient times.It is also not true that whites stole 80 percent of the land in South Africa . Eighty percent of South Africa is arid or semi desert and there were no permanent human settlements in the 1600's to early 1700's . Every new black farmer will tell u that he recieved the farm on some kind of a lease or group scheme from government and without ownership he/she is unable to raise capital to farm with .The ANC government owns 25 percent of all the land in the country which it could already have redistributed if it really wanted to.The ANC government is also sitting on 973000 hectares of land which it acquired during the land redistribution process from 1996 to 2011 which it has simply neglected to transfer .The ANC has had 26 years to effect land reform .The land reform program was however mismanaged and it failed because of a lack of political will and because of the incompetence and corruption of ANC officials .The ANC is a seriously corrupt organization that has stolen 1, 5 trillion rand, that is a 100 billion US dollars without any consequences.
