How do you feel about the spa being sued for not serving transgender people?This is pretty straightforward. The question is implying something that is not true.The spa stated that it does not perform waxing on male genitalia, which can safely be assumed to mean a penis and scrotum. Even if they are on a woman, they are still a penis and a scrotum. The spa also refuses to provide this service to males with a penis and a scrotum. Therefore the issue is not that the prospective customer is trans, the issue is that she wanted a service they do not provide, which is waxing the scrotum.A trans man still needs to see an OB-GYN. A trans woman still needs to get her prostate checked. Like it or not, your identity does not negate your biology.Note: I’m not in any way negating their identity. I have no problem with a trans woman using the woman’s bathroom or a trans man using the men’s locker room and showers. When I say identity doesn’t negate their biology, I’m purely talking about their bodies. Please do not come here with transphobic comments.The spa owner stated that the employee who would be able to perform the service was on leave. There’s an obvious implication there that she could have scheduled the wax after this employee had returned yet that appears to have been unacceptable.Forcing the employee to wax the customer’s scrotum would have meant forcing her to touch someone else’s genitals. You want to make someone touch the genitalia of another person without their consent? I’m not sure how I feel about that. It’s not like we’re talking about medical professionals here but that’s easy for me to say.EDIT: Since initially reading this story I’ve since learned that this woman has a bad reputation even within the transgender community. Apparently she has a history of targeting places that employ immigrants, so there may be some racist aspect to this as well.EDIT: Please don’t bring transphobic comments to this answer. I dislike the actions of this particular transgender woman in this particular situation. This is not an opportunity to bash all trans people.
