My favorite is this Remington M11 Riot Shotgun. Used extensively in WW2, I like it because of the simple complexity of a recoil operated weapon like this, and the fact that it was a semi-auto shotgun in use that long ago. Also, it was left to me by my grandfather. It gets the most compliments of all my guns. It looks like a howitzer as it fires as the entire barrel assembly recoils. Awesome!I love that it still functions flawlessly. And I keep it ready for home defense.(Not mine. Just a picture.)

Minecraft is awesome for just about any age. Our family likes it so much that for a while we were all playing on a server together, building things and exploring.You can play it as a monster-fighting adventure game, as a peaceful adventure game, as a construction company (creating buildings that look like houses, hotels, skyscrapers, museums, castles, churches, ancient ruins - or boats, windmills (which probably won’t turn, but they look like windmills)), as an engineer in training (mining, creating circuits), as a graphic designer (building abstract things with the blocks).You can play solo, with a friend or family members at home on a home server, on a friend or other person’s small server elsewhere (but from home), on a public server with random people who might wander in and out of the game over months. If you’re playing on your own machine, solo, you can play at any time you want. Otherwise, you can play any time the server is up or accessible (ie. when you can connect to it).You can be flexible and varied with what you build - small, large; simple, complex; quick, long-term.Your creations can be kept indefinitely in most modes - in other modes, creatures and natural phenomena might be able to destroy them.By exporting and sharing files, or by doing video captures while you’re playing, you can share what you’ve created or where you’ve traveled with other people.If you play the game on creative mode, you can fly.Those are all pros.Cons:Like anything on the computer, it’s on the computer.Your eyes, hands, and brain get a lot of exercise and maybe your stomach muscles and legs a little bit if you do some isometrics while sitting, but otherwise you’re not going to get much exercise or toning while playing. For your kid, this isn’t an issue. For some kids, it could be.
