This guy!By that, I’d have to say I’d likely get invisibility as a superpower. Of course, being permanently invisible is strangely noticeable in a crowd, so fat lot of good that would actually do for me when I want to be able to disappear. Then I’d just get a lot of attention as ‘the invisible woman’ (followed by a cease and desist from Marvel).Ironic, isn’t it? That my anxiety-induced superpower would cause me even more anxiety?Then again, who knows? Maybe having superpowers would give me a bit of a confidence boost.

I’d walk away. Quickly. Before I had a chance to inventory my purse to check if I had anything that could be used as a weapon.I am listed in my high school alumni as “deceased”. I moved several hundred miles away, and have had my name legally changed.I do not, WIll not ever EVER contact or speak to or even SEE *anyone* from that hideous school… EVER!When I was contacted, in the 1970’s for a “five year reunion”, I had my attorney draft and send a Cease And Desist letter stipulating that I wanted No Contact whatsoever from the school, its representatives or agents, and that, should they attempt to contact me in future, they would be sued and/or slapped with a restraining order.I made a solemn vow that I would never EVER set foot on that campus again, UNLESS I were prepared to die, heavily armed and my former classmates were all present.Since my own life is FAR more important to me than any or ALL of THEM… I have kept my vow and never gone back. I am DEAD to them, and they to me and that is EXACTLY the way I want it to STAY!

American infrastructure is not pretty good. As a former over-the-road trucker, I can tell you there are few roads - major highways and secondary roads - that are in “pretty good” shape. There are potholes, significant dips, uneven pavement, missing markings, guardrails, etc. Many bridges - from small overpasses to major access routes - are well beyond they ages when significant repairs/upgrades should have been made, but were not. Often, the standards, rather than the bridges, were changed.Our national train network is in significant need of repairs and upgrades. We have trains capable of traveling well above 100 mph, but can’t go over 35 mph due to track conditions. In many manufacturing areas, trains are non-existent, or so few as to be largely unable to meet would-be demand.Passenger train service is likewise inadequate. I had a 100 mile commute to work. Driving could take anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on traffic. There is a train that originates a mile from my home and could deposit me 4 miles from where I work. Despite not having to deal with traffic, it still takes 2 hours and leaves me with no viable way to get the last 4 miles to work. Not even taxi stands exist at the station. Buses? Add another hour. That’s right - an hour to go four miles. And not because of traffic (although that’s part of it).I lived in several countries in Europe and visited many more in Europe and elsewhere. All of them had far superior train and bus networks in the early 1980’s than we have now in the US.Schools and hospitals in many areas are falling apart and/or not up to current building codes.Even trump recognized this - and promised to build the “most beautiful” infrastructure we have ever seen - but did nothing to act on that promise. So, one could say Biden is making good on trump’s promise.All this is not to say healthcare should be ignored. Both healthcare and infrastructure are important and should be improved. And both can be done simultaneously.That is, if the republicons would cease and desist with their “that’s socialism” lie (which could be falsely claimed for infrastructure as easily as for healthcare) and actually act in the country’s best interests.Is the new right-wing thing to criticize Biden for actually taking action on the things trump promised but didn’t deliver? That hardly gives the criticism credibility.
