Why do most of the people go abroad after engineering in India? Are they frustrated about India?

Thanks for the A2A.Disclaimer: I'm not an Engineer. I studied Business/ Marketing with an IT focus.I was bitten by the MBA bug early on, and I joined a Bachelors in Business in spite of making it to NIT Warangal in 2006. Much to my father's dismay, my logic was flawless. I'd end up saving thousands of rupees, an academic year and would be better placed to understand the MBA subjects. In my third year (I was 19), I appeared for CAT with almost zero preparation. CAT 2008 was the last paper-pencil based CAT, and long story short I got a 93.39 percentile, with 99.87 in Verbal. Needless to say, my ego was fluffed and I thought with 1 year of practice I could definitely make it to IIM Indore (my dream school).I made it to 2 reasonably reputed schools in Mumbai (KJ Somaiyya and Welingkar), and I chose not to join. My parents thought i'd lost my mind.In 2009, with renewed practice and some real effort, I applied to a plethora of exams. CAT, XAT, IIFT, SNAP, TISS, FMS, NMAT, MH-CET, etc. I was writing an entrance test every weekend from October to December.Long story short, the normalization process of Online-CAT killed me, and I got only 88 percentile. I made it to IIFT, XIM, TISS HR and FMS. All reputed schools, but still not IIM Indore. I would have joined FMS Delhi if I got the flagship program, but I didn't. (Effin' reservations cost me another year). In the meantime, my company wanted to send me to Buenos Aires for 8 months and this seemed like a wonderful opportunity to give up.By 2010, I got really good at the core concepts and was clearing mocks with top 50 All India ranks. Career launcher, a coaching institute offered me a side position of Verbal Ability teacher for GMAT/ GRE/ CAT etc. I took it, as teaching was the best way to rein in my undisciplined ways, and focus on real practice. Now, a GRE teacher must attempt GRE and get a certain score, or he is deemed ineligible to teach. I attempted GRE (sponsored by CL) and got a 1460/1600. My co-worker and counselor encouraged me to apply to a couple of schools and I complied as a joke. I applied to HULT, Warwick, Strathclyde, SDA Bocconi, EM Lyon, ESADE and Rotterdam. I made it to every school.Maybe it was because I was only 21.Maybe because I was a non-engineer.Maybe because I'd worked in 2 foreign countries and had international exposure.Maybe because I had an amazing SOP and stellar recommendation letters from well-placed, internationally respected people.Or maybe it was simply because these schools saw a talented young man with an intense desire for success. I ultimately chose HULT because it offered me a huge scholarship and a very interesting choice of program. On the flipside, I still didn't make it to IIM Indore in spite of a 98.72 percentile in CAT. I only had a 92 percentile in Math. At the young age of 21, I was already frustrated, angry and irritated with the system. I thought, to hell with this backward cesspool of filth that doesn't honor talent, education or hard work, and instead relies on flimsy pathetic appeasement politics. In retrospect, I didn't give up on India. India gave up on me.Though I have unwavering love and loyalty towards my country, I was not about to waste any more time embarking on a journey with no prospect. I chose to move to a country with no friends, no relatives and hardly any money to back me up, because I knew for a fact that my talent would be recognized here. The US has been kind to me. It values my hard work and determination. I made the Deans list in my masters and got into Wells Fargo, one of the oldest and most prominent banks with a decent paycheck, and moved on to my current job within a year.I now make more money than I could have ever dreamed of, live in a wonderful 41st floor condo overlooking Lake Michigan. Life looks pretty good when you're looking out of the window and sipping some bourbon after a long day at work.My friends who did make it to the stellar B-Schools are selling SIM cards and tires in rural India. They are honorable, educated young people and are MUCH BETTER THAN ME AT EVERYTHING, but they have to endure the dust, the sweat, the thankless efforts and mediocre pay.TL;DR: Yes, India frustrated me enough to leave it. I have zero regrets and am very happy with my life choice.I'm sorry if this offends anyone's sensibilities. I'm not about to be all choked up by pseudo-patriotism or nationalism on paper. Of course I want to contribute to India's growth. I look forward to the day my nation and I will be proud of each other.
