English Bio Data: Fill & Download for Free

It happened few months ago while chatting in facebook.One of my friend recommended this girl to contact me to get information about jobs as a school teacher in Jamshedpur. We never met and only talked in facebook. She is a graduate in English and at that time she was doing nothing, although she was looking for some jobs. Let me narrate two incidences which was by far the most frustrating conversation I had with anybody.#1She: Hii,Me: Hii…yes tell me, what are you looking forShe: Can you arrange a job of a school teacher in any private school out there.Me: I cannot guarantee, but please send me your CV. I will forward it to the principal of some of the schools I know.She: CV?Me: YesShe: I mean……what is a CV? I dont know what you are talking aboutMe: Curriculum VitaeShe: Whats that?Me: Your bio-data, Resume ???She: Are tell them I am BA in English……they will understand.Me: I understand…..but you need to send your bio-data because that will give them all the information they want. And this is a standard procedure.She: You dont want to help then you can tell me directly…..why are you making it complicated by asking me to send you bio-data. Sorry I cannot share any data with a stranger.Me - Ignored, turned off the PCAfter few hours,She: Ok, I am sending you the bio-data but please make sure that you send it to the schools who are willing to pay me minimum of Rs 30,000 p.m.I was in so shock after reading this that I finally told her that schools in Jamshedpur do not pay more than Rs 15,000 p.m. so it will be a waste of time for you.#2After few days of the last conversation she again pinged me to do another favor for her.But this was not for job rather to find a groom for her.She: Can you help me to find an engineer boy for myself (She knew I am an engineer and a research scholar as well). Since you are an engineer you might have lot of friends who are engineers.Me: Yes, that’s true…..Me: (typing)She: Can you please refer to some of your friends about me. But make sure that those guys earn at least Rs 60,000 p.m. And guys who are settled outside India, tell them first about me. They are highly preferred.Me: Whats wrong with a guy who is a non-engineer. Why dont you want to marry them?She: Why I will marry them? If I am not marrying an engineer then I will loose respect and I work so hard to marry an engineer.Me: What?? you work hard for whattt??She: Yes its true……I daily work on my skin and facial glow so that I look perfect for these big guys.After this I could not restrict myself to unfriend and block her so that I don’t go to jail for shooting somebody.

Ah, there’s so many I can think of. Here’s a conversation I can actually picture happening. Words in italics are Indianisms…not all of them are from the dictionary, but are certainly widely used:SCENE: Reception area of a company that is hiring. Two candidates—an Indian and a Brit—are seated there and strike up a conversation as they wait to be called.Indian: Hi, I’m Ravi. What’s your goodname?Brit: My…name? I’m John Gower.I: Gower, like the cricketer? So you’re a Britisher?B: I’m, uh, British, yes. You here for the job too?I: Yes. Did you remember to bring your bio-data?B: You mean my résumé? Yes, I did.I: I made a mistake with one point on mine—I wish I had a rubber.B: (scratches head) Do you mean an eraser?I: Yes. I wrote I was in Primary till the 5th Standard, but it was only till the 4th.B: So you finish Junior school in Year Four? It’s Six in the UK.I: When do you pass out of college? And do you also have to do a lot of mugging for exams like we do?B: Well, we’re usually done with our A-levels at 18, and then it depends on what courses we take. I hope mugging is like swotting and not clubbing your teachers over the head.…By the way, do you know of any good places to have a snack after the interview?I: Yes, there are plenty of hotels in this area.B: No, I’m not looking for a place to stay…I’m asking about restaurants.I: Yes, same thing. Walk on the footpath till you reach the traffic signal and there is a good Udupi hotel right there.B: So I walk the pavement till I get to the lights? Oh, and I must admit I find Indian food a bit spicy.I: Well, you can always have the fruit juice…it’s fresh, straight from a mixie.B: What’s a mixie? Oh, a blender?I: Yes. I can drive you there after the interview. I’ll just have to move some stuff from the seat into my dickie.B: Your what?I: Dickie. In the back.B: Oh, you mean the boot? You had me going for a moment.I: Do you think it looks bad that I came for the interview in my sports shoes?B: Sports shoes? But you’re wearing trainers. And they look pretty smart, so you should be fine. Don’t take this wrong, but I must say I find some of the words Indians use a little different from what I am used to.I: What to do, John, we are like this only.

The Arrange marriage meeting - Your biggest interview of the lifetimePlace of the interview aka meeting: A food court in an east Delhi Mall.Pre-interview processLike resumes are screened and shortlisted, our marriage bio-data and photos were shortlisted and horoscope matched. Since I am a "Manglik" our respective families were looking for Manglik bride and vice versa. This particular astrological attribute in our stars helped in our bio-data getting shortlisted.The support system:My parents, my sister ( she was already married ), my maternal aunt and her daughter.Her brother and sister, brother's daughter and sister's husband.Thus, both parties were equally balanced.The preparation:For my side; partially new clothes and the new shoes. Cleanup as advised by my best friend. Although, the saying is " don't judge a book by its cover", however, more than often people judge books by its cover.From her side: new clothes and no makeupThe group discussion :Both families met and sat together in a restaurant in the Pacific Mall. The food was ordered and few of the family members including my father were focused on enjoying the taste of the food rather than the proceedings. There were rounds of formal introduction between the family members, talks about the family background, information about job/business. Questions like What would be a preferred choice of city for marriage: Delhi or Patna.I was tensed, so I asked my father:- why you are so relaxed.My father replied :- You will be getting married to this girl ( you will get the job ).I was annoyed- I said: Let me talk with her, don't make a decision right now. Please focus on whatever you are eating.First Salvo:My mother fired the first salvo towards the girl: What is your educational qualification.Answer: MBA HR plus basic information about the schooling2nd question: Do you know, how to cook?Answer; well versed in the cooking.After few minutes, my cousin sister revealed a secret: This girl has good communication skills. I had a great conversation in "English" with her. In the meantime, I was trying to get a glance of the girl, without showing my intentions to other family members.So, till now: education qualification, cooking skills, and the language skills of the girl were asked.Face to face Interview: 1st roundFinally, it was my turn to the face to face interview. Strangely, it was not a one o one meeting, however, there was two interviewer. The potential bride and her elder sister. I was already uncomfortable. Soon question in the terms of verbal volleys started- Why you are working in a BPO when you are a chemical engineer. You have a night shift and the girl works in a day job- how things will work. I was having a tough time and I was giving honest and valid reasons. Both the faces of the interviewer were not convinced with me. Last question: any chance of change in the night shift timing in coming 2-3 years. I replied: No, not even in next 5-7 years. We were done and It seemed my stocks falling like anything. I thought it didn't go well. There was no scope given to me to ask any meaningful question.My family member asked me about the face to face round. I said- I don't know, not sure. My maternal aunt pitched in, she gauged that I was non decisive. She said a great line of Airtel advertisement " Baat karne se Baat banti hain". She also gave me an advice that before saying yes, get a concrete confirmation from the girl that: she is OK with the marriage. She had seen many cases where girls were in relations and due to the family pressure they married somebody or in later stages broke engagement/marriage. I was terrified.Face to face interview: 2nd roundOnly girl and I were there. She again started asking the question about my qualification and job. I assumed an HR to be extrovert and kind of soothing, however, a lesson: never assume about the people. Everybody has a unique nature. Slowly conversation from the bitter start transitioned to the smooth sailing. We discussed future goals, career aspirations since she wanted to continue the job, family life since we were supposed to stay with family. We shared hobbies, liking and few area of interest. I informed with utmost happiness that I love watching Bollywood action movies, Mahabharata and a keen follower of the politics. Even, I disclosed my recently watched action movies and spent around 15 minutes on it. I validated that she was very much OK with the marriage and there was no family pressure for the matrimonial alliance. The positive vibes start flying, it was love in the air. 1 hour passed, within a few minutes. We came back accepted with yes and our lifetime interview was successfully cleared.Present time;It's nearly 7 years and we are still going strong. Still, we are working in different shifts. We are happily married with an addition of two kids. Guys, I have seen many answers and even lots of questions on the failure of the marriage, about failed arrange marriage. Please make a note, India is one of the top most countries in terms of the successful marriage. Whether an arrange or love marriage, please go for it.
