Interesting question. Lets see!In 2007, there were around 120 engineering colleges in Karnataka, around 250 colleges in Maharashtra, around 150 each in Andhra Pradesh & Tamil Nadu. In 2015, there are more than 300 engineering colleges in Karnataka, around 600+ colleges in Maharashtra, around 550 colleges each in Andhra Pradesh & Tamil Nadu. All these colleges offer B.E/B.Tech programs and have around more than 25 varities of engineering discipline.In the year 2007, total number of engineering graduates were around 8,00,000. I 2015, the number of graduating students as engineers are around 15,00,000.During the same time the companies like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Cognizant, IBM (all mass recruiting companies) had employee strength of 1,00,000 - 1,50,000 per company in 2007 and in 2015, the employee strength of these each company is still around 1,50,000 - 3,00,000. Not everyone get in to these companies. So where did the rest of engineers produced (approx 80Lacs) during this time go?Statistics says 80% of the engineering graduates are not employable. The main focus is not on research but on marks which do not help much to the fast moving companies in any way. Now, these white collar engineers will not like to do blue collar jobs as they feel its below their level to do such kind of jobs. Most of them did engineering so that they can write it on their biodata at the time of getting married.Engineers still searching for jobs for 2 years 3 years are very common. Ultimately most of them get in to family business, few go for higher studies, few quality ones end up getting good jobs and rare engineering graduate species turn entrepreneurs.

Sometimes.Education is mostly the side factor, it affects only if you want it to.Like highly educated guys, earn more, wants girl with similar education. For ex. There was one Mtech guy came as alliance for me. I have MSc education. His parents could make out difference and sent his biodata at my home. Later he cleared confusion that he need only M tech educated girl with same feild, same type of job.Some highly educated girls do not want their husband's education an inch lesser then them.Some guys again doesn't want a girl more educated then them.So of corse education plays role. But if you don't care about it and satisfied only with his/her literacy and working feild, then it will not interfere much.
