We need to set you up with a Development Retainer Agreement. Those start with a pre-payment of $5,000 for us to sign your NDA and then begin work on your project.”We had done website projects in excess of $100,000 so this was relatively speaking a somewhat trivial amount.“$5,000, THAT’S RIDICULOUS, HOW CAN YOU ASK FOR THAT WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT THE PROJECT IS? (He was actually yelling at this point)“Because you just explained that you want us to develop the actual Intellectual Property to make your concept possible without at least explaining what the concept is.”So then I asked, “Have you consulted an attorney about how to protect your idea?”“No, of course not, I don’t even know if its possible, that’s why I’m calling YOU.
