Activity Log-Lab Report: Fill & Download for Free

A typical course would have class 3–5 hours a week, meaning you’ll spend about 16 hours in class when you don’t have a lab, and perhaps 20 when you do.Time spent outside of class can vary widely, but over my 4 years at MIT I was logging 40–60 hours depending on the time of semester. The longest problem sets I ever had took us 30–40 hours each. And lab reports and exam studying will take as much time as you give them.So total time spent on academic pursuits could be anywhere between 56 and 80 hours, although 80 is really the breaking point for most people. Expect around 65.Overall, it’s doable. But you will need a very strong work ethic and a reliable method of stress relief (friends, activities, going out in Boston/Cambridge).Work hard, play hard.

There are a few things that I would like to share with those who expect to enroll in this university soon and I hope this helps.(1) Orientation week. In University of Malaya, orientation week is also known as Minggu Haluansiswa. This is the introductory week. As on the first day, you will have to check in into your room depends on which college that you have been assigned to and just for your information, UM have 12 residential colleges and as a first year student, you will be placed in one of these colleges and it is compulsory for the first year to stay in the college for 2 semesters. And for the rest of the week, the days will filled up with various kind of activities which includes bonding with your friends from the other faculties or seniors ( the college facilitators), being introduces to some places in the uni and faculties , and more. It is indeed a tiring week but don't worry do enjoy !(2) Do study hard and please please please do not get too obsessed with your college activities to the extend you totally ignore your studies. Joining one or two activities won't be a problem just for the sake of the experiences working in an organization but don't get too carried away with it. Studies is still the main priority so do think before you decided to join all the activities offered. If you think you can balance both even by joining a lot of activities , go ahead and do it. I'm not trying to forbid you from joining the activities but make sure to do what you are able to commit so that you won't regret later on.(3) As for the final examination, do go through all the past years papers. You can retrieve all the past years examination papers in the UM library portal. Log in by using your library ID no which is written at the back of your matriculation/ student card.(4) Be part of the buddyline system. I'm not so sure about the other faculties but in my faculty which is engineering, we did practice this and in this system, each first year student will be assigned under their respective 2nd year senior. Do join the junior senior meeting to get to know some of your seniors , like maybe start exchanging numbers so that you can reach them to get some help regarding the notes, lab reports, and etc. You can also use this chance to discuss with your senior about the lecturer's teaching style so that you can prepare yourself and get to know about your lecturers more.(5) Do not skip the week 14 lecture. I repeat again, do not skip and please attend the last lecture of the semester. This is because most of the lecturers will give out some tips about the questions that might appear during the final examination and you do not want to be the one who miss it.(6) Do try your best to get a good score for tests and assignments as it make up about 40% of your marks. The final examination only make up for the rest 60%. Even if you score full mark for your final but unable to get good marks for the 40% assessment it will still be a loss as it won't make it easy for you to score an A.(7) Last but not least , do enjoy the time you have throughout the university years. Cherish every moment with your friends and lecturers. All the best to all of you !
