PDF Editor FAQ

What are the tell-tale signs that a person is narcissistic? What if this person is a friend that became a lover and became a spouse, but as you seem back over the 15 years, you truly feel victimized about something you can’t quite put your finger on?

Your description is pretty sparse information to run with, but “victimized by something you can’t quite put your finger on” inspires me to say something here, as that’s a telling symptom. The list, in no particular order:Do you feel a little bit bad around this person, but can’t say exactly why? What motivates you to be with this person: Desire to be with them, or fear of losing them?Do they alternate distance and affection, keeping you around more by the implied threat of abandonment than through direct affection and consideration? When you meet them somewhere, do you feel a slight sense of dread?Do they project an absolute right to a superiority over others, especially you, as if they inherited it by birthright?Does your gut feeling about this person differ from what your brain tells you?Do they compliment you directly, or spin the compliment somehow to work in a flaw of yours?Do they ever apologize calmly and without qualification, assuming total responsibility for their actions? Can they handle not being the center of attention? Can they enjoy others’ successes, and feel sympathy for others’ failures?Do they process emotions well? Can they directly discuss their feelings in ways which make sense given the context, or do they hide behind silence?Do they seem calmer when your self-confidence is low? Most of these constitute a checklist for emotional abuse in general. I think it is healthy and necessary to understand narcissism, but the abuse is the more important topic. It’s easier to track whether you’re being abused than it is to tear your hair out comprehending someone else’s inner workings.

What are colleges doing to ensure hygiene & safety during the current pandemic?

The reality of settling back to the new normal is unnerving for everyone, especially if you are a student. Given the circumstances, it is natural to feel anxious and concerned about your health. With the COVID-19 cases rising across the country, academic institutions are ensuring that all the safety precautions are in place to welcome their students, faculty, and staff back on campus. One of the universities, which is ahead of the curve in implementing strict safety measures on campus, is the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES).The university has put several key measures in place with respect to the government’s guidelines to keep the community safe. UPES has ensured that every office, classroom, lab, and meeting room is sanitised on a regular basis. Utilities like water storage tanks, rooftop water tanks, and water coolers are continuously monitored and deep-cleaned. All washrooms, pantries, kitchens, infirmary, IT equipment are also sanitized regularly. When it comes to the outdoors, the university is using fogging to disinfect the grass areas, main gates, and boundary walls. UPES is also ensuring that soap solutions and hand sanitizers are placed at all junction points and offices and replenished periodically. All sanitization will be done before and after duty hours. To maintain ventilation of spaces and prevent the circulation or clogging of air, all doors/windows will be kept open during office hours. UPES has also discontinued its bio-metric swiping system for attendance and replaced it with the online attendance system (HONO).Although lifts will be cleaned and sanitized frequently, the university has advised avoiding crowding at any point in time. Hence, students and visitors would be asked to refrain from using the lift. Nevertheless, toothpicks will be left inside lift cabins in a small cup, in case of emergency. At no point will there be more than two people inside a lift cabin.Wearing a mask will be compulsory in all public areas. UPES has issued a directive to prevent gathering in any common area, including the cafeteria. Classrooms, library seating, cafeterias, and food courts are being rearranged to reduced capacity to maximise spaces between students up to recommended levels for social distancing. There is provision for an ambulance and medical facilities with doctors on campus. Medical assistance would be available 24*7, including full-time doctors and emergency services on the campus.Apart from the infrastructural assessments and reconfiguration of spaces for imposing stringent measures to keep people apart, the university will provide its students with psychological support to effectively address issues related to emotional well-being in these crisis-ridden times.UPES’ efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff received the coveted SafeGuard certification from Bureau Veritas, after a detailed Health, Safety and Hygiene Conformity Assessment. Bureau Veritas, a world leader in testing, inspection, and certification services, has developed detailed checklists with global health, safety, and hygiene specialists to ensure that the safety procedures meet local and international regulations, as well as recognised best practices. For UPES, the Bureau Veritas Safeguard Label is an important tool in restoring confidence and demonstrating its commitment to operate the campus to the highest global standards. You can be assured of the rigorous sanitisation protocols, including deep cleaning, protective masks, temperature checks, extensive hygiene training for all staff and strict social distancing across all areas of the campus. To know more about UPES, visit us at UPES University in Dehradun For Admission in MBA, LLB, B.tech, M.tech

How do you expose a narcissist to people who don't see them for what they are?

Any self aware person will notice or see that there is something wrong /off with the narcissistic person. The ones who can't see/ feel this, are people who possibly have never experienced a close encounter with these narc individuals, or haven't read about this personality disorder, but…once you open their eyes by showing them articles in the web, YouTube videos, so ant sort of educational material, so they can compare the checklist of things that a narcissistic person does/ feels, with the list of traits that a narcissist person normally has as a pattern…Specially when you provoke their rage by either ignoring them, or not feeding their ego, or by you, or someone NOT doing what they want, and depending of the circumstances, then the person can start clearly see/ identify this person double side. There are so many other complex ways to discover a narcissist but the list could be very long, so to my knowledge… overall unmasking a narcissist, implies either confronting them or asking the person to carefully observe their behaviors and run!!, whatever is safer to do on each case.... ;) now talking to someone about the matter without you being impartial and objective about the subject, could even backfire on you, or your good intentions, and make you seen more as someone who is bashing the narc’s reputation, instead of being a savior...What off course any narc will try to deny fiercely that whatever you said about them are lies, and they will respond by attacking you back, more if you directly attacked them first / or approached a person to enlighten them at the early stages of their mutual socialization/ relationship with the narc, it's even worst if they feel they could loose a very valuable supply like someone who is providing them money, power, etc.... they will also try to isolate the victim from you, so they victim has no support, worst case scenario, the victim also, might not even believe that the person you are describing could be the same person they think they know… because they have been gaslighted/ manipulated for some time, and the longer the period, more cognitive dissonance they got to fight with…It takes time, patience, persistence, and lots of brains, energy, to make the other person to open up their eyes, and see the narc by the same perspective that you do. I been through all that.. and it wasn't fun, it was very hard, and stressful to show everyone at work who this guy was..And still there are some people, specially the ones who didn't know me well, who thought I was the evil one, and he was a “sweet quiet guy” but that's another story.sometimes, unless is your family member, or someone very dear to you who is the victim and you are doing it to help them to get out of a dangerous situation. Then is worth the hassle, and war zone that you are about to enter, otherwise.. if it's for revenge, or to salvage your own image, reputation like.. ( in my case) .. I would say, let it go., and get as far as you can from this person, or it could cost you…your own mental, physical, emotional well being in the way…that without mentioning the time consuming and money you would invest on unmasking a narcissistic person, as they will fight back soonest as they find out, if you don't do it wisely/ discreetly, that you want their mask down.. Is like wanting their head being decapitated, so also be ready to run after this mask falls down, as their revenge is the ugliest, meanest thing/experience you would ever face in life, so is not really worthy.. let karma do its job. Narcissist are demons wearing angel ropes waiting to be unleashed… no kidding. ;) get away for them!!!
