The intake of students into IUCAA's Ph.D. Programme is through:IUCAA National Admission Test (INAT)This test and the subsequent interviews are generally conducted in the first week of December every year at IUCAA Pune.Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST)This test is usually conducted at IUCAA, Pune, and at other centres in India on the third Sunday of February every year. Yes, of course they have. The entire interview will be dissected by psychologist, lawyers, and criminologist, for human behavioural studies. I have none of their the expertise, but still examined and analysed Meghan and Harry’s voices, expressions and behaviour, because I have been observing human behaviour all my life.Let’s start with Meghan, who did most of the talking. Oprah’s questions focused on some sensitive issues, and Meghan did her best to act out the victim role when reflecting on events that occurred as little as 2 years ago. That's not long ago, so if these events caused her sufficient pain to become suicidal, she did not indicate deep scarring as a result. Just looking at their facial expressions told me they were genuine. People try to stay calm and inately hide their emotions during an interview, but they give themselves away every time. Women are far more likely to crack than men, and while they recollect an emotional experience, the mouth quivers, chin puckers and they grimace in an effort to restrain themselves from breaking down. Blowing their nose and frequent drinks of water is also noticed. Their narrative is stilted, suddenly changing octaves and they pause a lot, taking deep breaths, while closing their eyes frequently to envisage their memories or calm their emotions.The interviewer gets little eye contact fom them while they are expressing deep, personal emotions, as they usually look past him or her while attempting to focus their thoughts of unpleasant memories they have internalised for so long, but when they calm down towards the end of the interview, they will often look the interviewer straight in the eye. People also talk with their hands, and regulatly touch their brow and wave their hands when expressing their feelings. Meghan just positioned her her hand on her abdomen of massaged her back curvature, and the other gripped Harry’s hand. Seemed unnatural to me! They normally frown, scowl eyeball, wave their arms around touch their face, scalp, tug at their hair, etc…Watery eyes usually present after they have calmed themselves a little, or tears leak from under tightly-squeezed eye-lids, but is those strained grimaces as they battle to stay calm, is an indicator of the level of pain and hurt they have endured. A few tears is a common unexplainable female emotional phenomena related to the glare of a personal discussion, especially when supported by a spouse and empathetic, mentoring interviewer/ friend, whether the experiences are true or false. How many women found guilty of an offence cry when they are pulled up by authorities? Heaps!!Prince Harry’s body language was brooding, frozen and silent, as though he were just going along with whatever Meghan says. He is feeling trapped and his pride would never allow him to admit it to the world, so he remains in a state of denial and support of his spouse.As for Oprah, her facial expressions were laughable. How long did she practice looking gob-smacked in front of the mirror? I watch really professional interviewers on programs like 60 minutes, where they are shocked by horrific responses they get to questions from guests who have suffered deep trauma. Again, their facial muscles are taught and skin fraught with expression lines, as they try to deal with their own emotional responses. Women often have a pallor, while men can become flushed-looking, in response to their anger and defeat.This whole interview was a very poor attempt at conning the public into sympathising with and supporting a pair of spoilt brats. I would be most surprised if any professional body language expert, psychologist, detective or lawyer would swallow such absolute rot!

To get enrolled in the doctorate program at IUCAA, you have to either crack INAT or JEST followed by an interview.The doctoral program is of 5 years duration including 1-year grad-school. You can do the research in various fields of astronomy like Instrumentation, Observation, Gravitational Wave, etc.For first two years, you will get a stipend of 25k per month and 28k for subsequent years.
