Trump is operating without the mechanisms of checks and balances inherent in our form of government, the Republican Congress allowed this direct attack on our core values. The Democrats have a sworn duty to refuse this blackmailing by the executive branch. Monies are appropriated for Federal expenditure through legislation, the need determined by committee and work groups, as well as public comment. Trump’s is standing before a nation that does not want the expenditure, and, holding hostage the health of our Federal government. Trump is one man, the House members represent millions of Americans. Who is the traitor and who is the noble citizen? Eventually the pain at home for the GOP in the Congress will become to great and they will force Trump to cave. The shut down needs to be written out of law. We also need to ditch the stereotype that paints the Federal Worker as lazy and ineffective. The bureaucracy of government must be where our finest, brightest, most noble citizens work, what other methods will support the global challenges that are ebbing closer with each drop of melted arctic ice. Dare I mention the plethora of global challenges we are late to address; ferderal workers got us to the moon, and welcome us to our National Parks, they deliver our mail and probably provide more than a thousand other service types.(Added to answer)I would proffer, “What business person would shut down there business to force investors to pay for a 5.6 BILLION DOLLAR INVESTMENT, without, studies on, scope of project, studies on the best material and design for the investment. Of course the investors and board members would want research on alternative forms of construction, and ROI. The board would mandate a SWAT analysis. Think about the process needed for a corporation to invest five almost six billion dollars, extensive, yup!So when Trump chooses to hold our nation hostage, for billions on unstudied, unapproved, non appropriated, approved without public dialogue, at a cost of 24 billion in GDP per day lost revenue; we might not want to reward the behavior! A corporate board would fire his ass without question. Just observe the recent Tesla, SEC filings and Board, actions.Asking the Democrats to compromise is not appropriate; it would be the equivalent of asking a bystander to cleanup someone else’s dogs toilet deposit. “Yeah, that guys dog took a crap, and yes, you stepped in it, you want me to, what, give you fifty bucks so you can get your shoes cleaned, who are you, you must be nuts?One last scenario; This is a genuinely serious observation.The Trump Republican spin of having the Dems cave, mimics a regular hostage situation. Trump, attempts to rob a bank, he meets resistance, he takes actions that will harm the country. He will not reopen the government until he gets what he wants. The costs already in the billions, millions of Americans impacted, harm is being done. Trumps actions show callus disregard for the health and welfare of the nation, this is a illegal shakdown, akin to taking out a gun in Times Square and arbitrarily killing someone! And, the Republican Senator majority supports the presidents actions?

Frankly speaking, I wasn’t able to join the signature ‘adaptive module classes’ because as per them “I was over cut off” in the subject decided as per the initial SWOT test. Initially I was uncomfortable with the situation but after a few regular classes of the English subject, I was sure that I don’t need any extra classes as for the adaptive ones. I was comfortable with numbers and graphs and the subject teachers made sure that that skill should only get transcended. I was even promoted to T-28 batch (one of the top batch of MBAguru) after a short while.Well, apart from my personal experience in the coaching, what made it the second best place to spend time (of course first being home) was the environment and connections they have created among us. Never before have I seen such professional business going with such individual priorities. I throughout my session felt being looked after, and believe me, it really gives you a support in this competitive life.Be it the doubts after classes or arranging back-ups, the faculties were always on the go. The 3 hour class-room sessions were always interesting, with teacher making sure that enough questions were attempted before we leave. Every teacher has an awesome command over his/her subject. For their qualifications, one can even refer to the coaching site. Also regular card checkups for homework made sure that the decorum was maintained. Abhilasha mam and Abhishek ranjan sir, although handle most of the management affairs of the session made sure that every student gets comfortable in the environment. The first answer in the series can be found here.They weren't exactly “secret,” but I will take some time to explain the rituals here, since I've referred to them a few times in my other answers.InitiationThis is the most important ritual or rite in all of ISKCON.When a new member is starting out, initiation seems so awesome. You have a guru (ooh! How mystical! Just like the Beatles!) and you get a cool new name. The name I received was Subhadra Bhakti devi dasi.The requirements for initiation involve a lot of commitment. You have to take a grueling class on the Bhagavad-Gita As It Is and pass the Bhakti Sastri test, and you must be intimately familiar with Srila Prabhupada’s other books.You have to be chanting 16 rounds per day, minimum. The mantra “Hare Krishna Hare Krishna / Krishna Krishna Hare Hare / Hare Rama Hare Rama / Rama Rama Hare Hare” is repeated once for each bead on your “chanting beads.” There are 108 beads and you have to do 16 rounds per day, so that's 1,728 repetitions of the mantra. Per day. At minimum.You have to attend all of the services (or as many as you are able to) regularly, including the one at 4:30am, and you have to be active in temple life.Once your guru thinks you meet all the requirements, you go through the initiation ritual. There is a lot of bowing involved, as well as a ritualistic sacred fire, which comes from Vedic tradition. You must pledge to submit to your guru and obey all of his commands. Your guru is the vessel through which you can receive Krishna’s mercy, so when I say you have to obey him, I mean you literally have to do whatever he tells you to do all of the time no matter what.Particularly advanced devotees also undergo a second initiation, called Brahman Initiation. This requires a devotee to be truly living their lives in accordance with the principles of austerity and the commands of their guru. They must be well-read in both the Srimad Bhagavatam and the Sri Isopanisad, as well as all the books mentioned above.Puja / AratiThis is a concept that my Indian friends will probably be very familiar with. It basically means worship of and offerings to the deities.So the main deities in the temple I belonged to were called “Kishore-Kishori,” which are alternate names for Krishna and Radha.The other deities were “Nitai-Gaura,” names for Nityananda and Chaitanya (two prominent swamis).And finally there were Jagannatha, Subhadra, and Baladeva.Source: ISKCON Chicago FacebookAs you can see, the deities have a very wide array of different fancy outfits that they change every day.Every morning at 7:30 (after chanting for three hours in the temple following the 4 am service), they would draw open the curtains, revealing the deities, and then an initiated devotee would wave a fan at them and ring a bell while everyone in the temple lined up on the far left side of the room and then full-on bowed (all the way to the ground) their way across the room.Devotees are also expected to engage in service to Krishna through use of the images installed in the temple, or smaller images installed at home. This practice brings the devotee to a higher level of engagement by treating Krishna as a beloved child or friend. Only twice-initiated devotees may care for the temple deities and touch them and stuff, and only initiated devotees can have smaller, personal deities in their home.But all devotees are encouraged to have shrines to Krishna and the swamis in their home. I had a framed picture of Kishore-Kishori, small figurines of Jagannatha, Subhadra, and Baladeva, a framed picture of my guru, a picture of Srila Prabhupada, a bell, water cups for each figurine and picture, an incense holder, and a lace altar cloth.Here are some guidelines from a Hare Krishna website for setting up a home altar:You'll likely find that japa and kirtana are more effective when done before an altar. Lord Krishna and His pure devotees are so kind that they allow us to worship them even through their pictures. It's something like mailing a letter: You can't mail a letter by placing it in just any box; you must use the mailbox authorized by the government. Similarly, we cannot imagine a picture of God and worship that, but we can worship the authorized picture of God, and Krishna accepts our worship through that picture.Setting up an altar at home means receiving the Lord and His pure devotees as your most honored guests. Where should you set up the altar? Well, how would you seat a guest? An ideal place would be clean, well lit, and free from drafts and household disturbances. You wouldn't seat a guest in your home and then ignore him; you'd provide a place for yourself to sit, too, where you could comfortably face him and enjoy his company. So don't make your altar inaccessible.Service involves waking the deity, feeding it, and putting it to sleep. Each step requires specific actions and a whole bunch of chanting. Awakening the deity, for example, includes ringing a bell, offering water and fresh flowers, and (if you have statues) clothing them.As far as deities and statues in the temple go, I was allowed more than a few times to do Tulsi arati (worship of a tiny tree). I also was allowed to worship and clothe Kirti’s deities (my female monk friend who lived in the temple). It was exactly like playing dress up with dolls, if everyone treated the dolls like God.FoodWell, first of all, South Indian food is freaking amazing. Just gotta get that out of the way. They infuse butter into everything. It's crazy.There are guidelines on what to eat because we were supposed to eat food that Krishna likes, because we “offered” it to him before we ate it. Krishna likes vegetables (no meat, no eggs) and a metric shit-ton of ghee (butter) and milk. “Offering” means you put a little food on a plate and offer it before the deities and pray over it and ring some bells… then you have to wait while Krishna “eats” it. I'm not joking. You have to pretend that the statue is pretend-eating the food. Then you mix that into your food (which is usually cold now) and then you can eat it.That's why I always ate at the temple. Because it's annoying to go through that process in your house three times a day.
