Decoding India, Modi and Growing Intolerance Against Peace and ProsperityIn 2014 I was traveling in Welsh part of UK, and it was morning time and when we switched on the TV - there was live coverage on BBC showing International Yoga Day. This event was going on in London, but the real architect of this global event was the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi. I was having coffee with American and Japanese friends in Cardiff. One of a friend said, ‘Sad, we are not in London. Otherwise, we could have also been part of it.' The first time I saw one Indian political leader who had found his admirers outside India. I left India in Dec 2011 and before that I was a full-time volunteer with India Against Corruption-Mumbai team at Andheri Chakala office, and was managing social media section, working with well-known social activists in India who later became famous national names in AAP. Since I left India, I have been to many countries in Africa, Europe, and Asia. I traveled because of my job and also doing backpacking and observing different social-political structures around the world, still doing this, and it’s a spiritual process.If I remember, first time British Media was showing something live from London that has been severely showcasing positive image of India. Otherwise, we only hear about India in Western media for rapes, earthquakes, bomb blasts, corruption, intolerance, etc. Not only the UK, on the same day my many friends from France, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, USA were also uploading Yoga pics as their profile pic on WhatsApp group. Since I used to teach meditation in Tanzania, few of my students from Tanzania who were working with European Embassies personally greeted me as well.But ironically, many in India were writing in against of Mr. Modi on the same day and against Yoga. Many critics were saying, for Mr. Modi it’s a photo opportunity. Many others wrote articles that Yoga has no scientific base and of no use, and some linked Yoga to Hinduism. Outside India everyone was writing well about Yoga, but within India Mr. Modi’s opponents were busy writing against him and Yoga. I have seen many Yoga schools in USA and Europe run by Westerners, and I am pretty sure people from the West are more rational when it comes to scientific proofs. The science we boast of today is mostly coming from the West. So, I won’t doubt their trust in having benefits on Yoga. But, Mr. Modi found many enemies during that time too within India; surprisingly.After India got independence in 1947, Congress ruled most of the time at central and state level. And whenever they were voted out, they tried their best to be in power indirectly by supporting other political parties, no matter how corrupt and communal those political parties were. They know very well the rules of this game and how by hook and crook to form a Gov. Their ideology is to be in Power and they are champions in deluding common man on the name of religion and caste. But in a democracy, they have every right to be in power because ultimately public vote a political party, so whom to blame? If public fail to understand the plot, it is their problem.Mr. Modi. has come a long way - born to a humble family to becoming the Prime Minister of world’s largest democracy, it is not a small feat. He must have an adamant vision and committed personality otherwise; it was not possible. His opponents have only one thing to say to him – Modi is communal – because of 2002 Godhra riots when he was a Chief Minister. But the fact is that he was a newly elected CM, and unfortunately, this incident happened. It might be possible that his decision came late or maybe failed to understand the ground situation and couldn’t handle it well and on time, and by that time damage was already done. But it doesn’t mean that he was responsible and was an architect for that massacre. Many independent judiciary boards have submitted reports aftermath; Congress was in power for more than ten years at the central level, and no one was able to prove that he was the mastermind behind that massacre. So, he must not be held for that brutal incident. But his opponents have found this one incident as a master card and keep playing and will keep playing in future.But in life, you have to be rational, and this world works by facts and numbers. If you start looking at the Congress regime, and the number of religious riots, social and political intolerance happened during their rule, then the list is very long. But here are few – 21 months Emergency (death of democracy) from 1975-1977, many times misuse of Article 356, 1984 Sikh riots, religious violence and militancy in Punjab from the mid-1980s till late 1990s, J&K militancy. Then ban on a book - Satanic Verses, Shah Bano case, Ram Mandir demolition, Mandal Commission Riots, Mumbai blasts followed by riots, many bomb blasts, terrorist attacks, Maoists movement, Naxal insurgency, North Indians assaulted in Maharashtra, etc. If you wish, you can add more. These all happened during Congress rule, if BJP is to be blamed for Godhra riots, lynching in UP, Babri Masjid, then Congress should be held accountable for all these. Congress can’t claim they are the holiest, and if so, then facts and figures will come on the table starting from 1947. India was not born on May 2014 when BJP came to power first time with the full majority; the Republic of India exists since many decades.Not only this – the amount of corruption committed during Congress regime will put any country on this earth to shame. From 2004-2014 only, more than $ 5 Trillion fraud happened in India – it means indirectly they killed hundreds of thousands of poor people (don’t forget poor farmers commit suicide every year). In the 21st century, Congress ruled from 2004-2014 for ten yrs. And even if you look only at their ten years record, it is terrible, and it’s hardly 17-18 months out of power, and they have come with this new Idea of, ‘Intolerance in India.' But we should rephrase this line, ‘Congress - Intolerance against Prosperity and Peace,’ and Congress is practicing this since many decades. India was never communal, India or Indus Valley (pronounced as Hindu) civilization was always tolerant, and that’s why so many religions came up in this region. We lived together, and the openness of Hinduism accepted people from every faith. This Communal-Secular divide came during British rule and later adopted by Congress and its affiliated smaller parties. Congress work with its many subsidiaries, no matter they have different names, but their ideology is same, and they work together, just like in a consumer market you see many brands competing against each other, but their parent company is same. So beneficiary is always Congress and they have been supported by many forces (inside outside India) who want to keep this country backward and away from global power.In the past months, many artists (writers, poets, filmmakers..) and scientists are returning their awards. But where were they when above mentioned incidents happened in India? Where were they when hundreds of thousands of Kashmiri Hindus threw out of Kashmir. I know many in my friend circle who moved to Delhi after anti-Hindu bashing. Where were these filmmakers and writers when Shiv Sena and MNS were beating North-Indians openly, throwing them out from a moving train, hands chopped in daylight (enough data is available on the internet). Where were their morality and conscience? The conscience shouldn’t be selective to one political party or religion. The soul of an equal human should not discriminate between Hindu or Muslim; we are all human beings. But since democracy gives you every right to take a political stand and favor one political party, you can do this. But whenever you do this, citizens of India have every right to question your credibility, and you will have to give logical answers. Also if you read the past of these celebrities, they were always in against of Modi and BJP, and they had published many articles in against of Mr. Modi before he became PM, so their growing intolerance is well understood.But again for the fairness of discussion, these intellectuals are rational people, and they must have seen some negative trends in the past few months that’s why they are returning awards. But to analyze any trend, you do a comparative analysis, and it can’t be accomplished unless you bring data from the past. Any illiterate person can say this, no reasoning could happen without comparison with the past, so please look at the history (at least go in the past 30-40 yrs.), and provide all such incidents. When and where it happened and who was in Gov. and who were these people? Every rational citizen of India would like to see numbers with facts and figures.On religious tolerance, I would like to share my experience with Muslim friends, and I am saying this through experience that India is a great nation and religiously one of the most open country I have ever come across. Visit Europe, and soon you will realize how open they are to Muslims. Since my skin color is brown I have been asked many times about my religious identity, the same way in India people ask your caste. And the moment they got to know I am non-Muslim they vented their anger against Muslims; so don’t live in an illusion that India is intolerant. In India, people from Muslim faith are doing excellent in art, literature, and the social-political world. The most famous people in the art are of the Islamic religion, and it’s the power of our Indian culture, the openness of believers in Hinduism that everyone has their voice and freedom. I have lived in Christian and Muslim-dominant countries, and they don’t have public holidays for the faith of religious minorities, but in India, we have public holidays on the name of each faith, that’s our inclusive culture and the real democracy. So, my humble request from Congress and its supported parties is not to spread hate among Indians as we have already many problems (poverty, corruption, pollution, unemployment..) to resolve – please don’t divide and rule this country.In Tanzania, I shared my flat close to nine months with one Muslim friend from Pakistan. His father was a Pakistani diplomat, and he comes from an affluent family of UP. His family left India for Pakistan in the 60s, but he told me that, that was the biggest mistake of his father. They never found acceptance in Pakistan and suffered and discriminated. So, don’t think that India is an intolerant country, it’s a great nation with great values and integrity.They way Islam can’t be linked to Terrorism because of few extremist groups around the world, in the same way, you can’t label Hinduism and India as ‘Intolerant’ because of few incidents – evils are present in each community.Personally neither I support BJP nor Congress. My support is only issue based. I am not in support of this new beef ban campaign and where some people are trying to teach morality to Indians. Personally, I am a vegetarian, and it’s my personal choice. But I will never try to enforce my thoughts on anyone. Once Swami Vivekananda said, ‘Indians should not hesitate from eating meat.' Personally, I have the same opinion. Eating meat helps to have aggression, and this helps when you have to save your nation against invasions. India needs S3 (Saints, Scientists, and Soldiers). To become a warrior you need aggression and physical strength, so let people decide what kind of meat they want to eat. Not everyone is looking for enlightenment and shouldn’t. This mother earth requires all type of individuals. Unless Indians are ready to become another Tibet, where everyone is very peace-loving, vegetarian and looking for enlightenment - the result is - Chinese invasion and its holy leader Tenzin Gyatso (14th Dalai Lama) is running everywhere to make Tibet free. Because they don’t have enough strength to make Tibet free. See Israel - a small country, and you dare to touch them. Strength is respected everywhere, and it will have respect in future as well.India has been invaded many times in the past, and its culture was destroyed. During Buddhist period, Indians were, so peace loving and meek that no strength and desire was left to fight against any invasion; they simply surrendered. During British Raj, there was never more than 100 thousand British presence in India governing 300-350 million Indians. By simple calculation - 3500 Indians were ruled by only 1 British, what a shame? In the entire human history of colonial invasion, you won’t see any such bad example. But Indians were never united, and the national spirit was completely missing; we were divided and impotent.Recently when I was reading a book in British Library in London, written in 1888 by a British scholar, John Strachey, where he writes, “The diversities of religion and race are as vast in India as in Europe, and political catastrophes have been as frequent and as violent. There are no countries in civilized Europe in which the people differ so as the man of Madras differs from the Sikh. People often complain that Indian authorities vary so significantly among themselves that you can never be sure that you have learned the truth..” That’s a reason British ruled India comfortably for more than 200-250 yrs. But after 1947, many political parties are practicing same policies in the name of caste and religion. The national spirit is still missing. We can’t keep blaming British always because of our failures; it’s already more than 69 years of independence.So let Indians eat whatever meat they want to eat and by raising such issues don’t get distracted from the original goal of development, don’t confuse and disintegrate voters, because these meat lovers will be splendid soldiers and a stronger India needs them.BJP or any of its affiliated parties should not propagate the ideology of India where people should be vegetarian only - not suitable for an active country. If you read Vedas, you will see that even Brahmins were eating meat. It’s not Gov. job to keep preaching what to eat, what not to watch on the internet or how to dress. The radicals shouldn’t try to take India backward. The modern Indians are looking for openness and let’s accept this fact that with time society needs evolution in culture, rules, and regulations. The strength of Hinduism is in openness and giving people freedom. Hinduism promotes constant growth, and it’s not a close institution like many other religions. It’s a beautiful philosophy and must not be poached by outdated radical thoughts. And don’t forget that radicals are present in every religion, and they are dangerous for any society.The goal of BJP should be to bring 300-400 million people out of extreme poverty and provide them a good education, healthcare, and better-living standard. The goal should be to make India the most vibrant, the richest and powerful country where every Indian (Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Zoroastrian, Zen) must be treated equally. And this goal should be of every political party.At the same time, BJP should put a curb on their outspoken leaders and should not encourage any fanatic groups. And if BJP leaders are politically smart they should not lose their vote share by speaking against religious minority or any caste - 2019 elections are not so far.Congress terribly failed to achieve United-India – they have ruled India for more than 50 yrs. And they can’t run away from this fact. And whenever they were out of power, they started playing the card of Communal-Secular, it’s an old colonial game (Divide and Rule).In recent Bihar elections, they supported a party that took Bihar to the stone age. I come from Bihar, and I know what Bihar became during Lalu Raj (Jungle Raj). But Congress is so greedy, power hungry and anti-BJP that it will go to any length to remain in authority – their ideology is only to be in authority. During Jungle Raj, more than 20 thousand murders happened only between 2000 - 2005. Extortions, daylight killings, rapes, murders were rampant everywhere. Many films have been made on this, books have been written, and the result is, ‘Bihari’ became an offensive word outside Bihar. I come from Bihar, so I know how people reacted the moment you said you are from Bihar. Lalu made caste system deep and kept whole Bihar deliberately rural so that he could exploit them quickly. Bihar became the most backward state and still 90% of Bihar is rural. Whenever during summer vacations I used to visit Bihar no one dared to step outside their house once the sun was set. Believe me - I have been to many African countries (East, West Central), and with my experience, I can say that till 2005 Bihar was in more terrible shape than any African country I have visited. African countries were safer and free than Bihar.Lalu took Bihar rock bottom, kept people illiterate, used people for his vested interest, put his wife in power when sentenced to jail. He promoted booth capturing openly, his in-laws were involved in criminal activities, destroyed his opponents and didn’t trust any other political friends and party, but still ruled Bihar for more than 15 yrs. And Congress supported him - and now Nitish Kumar is with him - It’s a fall of Nitish Kumar.Nitish Kumar undoubtedly tried to bring reforms in Bihar and better than Lalu. He brought crime in control and tried his best to improve the infrastructure. He provided jobs to many, and among my cousins; many became a teacher. But here is a problem, these teachers are incapable that I doubt they can write few pages in Hindi or English. My cousin sisters who passed exams by writing papers at home and submitting exam papers next day became school teachers. Today they earn Rs. 20,000/- every month and rarely visit the school, though they have given free bicycle. They are utterly incapable of teaching to anyone; they should be taught basics first before they get ready to teach others. But by giving Rs. 50,000/- bribe to the Sarpanch (Village Mukhiya) they became a teacher. I won’t blame Nitish for this because he can’t monitor every citizen in Bihar, but at least he should have tried to look into this matter in the past ten years, but he failed.I am sure many women must have voted for Nitish and why not? For them, Nitish Kumar is a Messiah who gave them free salary every month with one free bicycle. The result is that kids stopped going schools because they knew they find out more than their teachers. Many private teaching schools flourished in Bihar, but eventually the burden is only to the public, the corrupt remained corrupt and poor remained poor. Though, few who could afford to bribe found jobs and achieved monetary benefits.But Nitish Kumar was in coalition with BJP for more than a decade, later parted away from BJP, because personally he didn’t like Modi and saw whom he chose? - Lalu Yadav, Congress, etc. There are many interviews and live footage available on the internet where Nitish said many nasty words for Lalu before joining hands with him, but after last year’s national election he realized that he couldn't survive alone against BJP, so he joined hands with Lalu to remain in power - greed is apparent. His desire for power has made millions in Bihar to suffer.The other great modern leader who exposed himself is Arvind Kejriwal. His only aspiration is to become Prime Minister, but he is in haste, and so much in a hurry that revealed himself very quickly. Day and night are only criticizing Modi; it seems he has already resolved all problems of Delhi citizens. I remember when he became Delhi CM the first time I went to listen to his speech at Ram-Lila Maidan where he gave a lecture that now India will become ‘Soney Ki Chiriyaa (Golden Bird) within five yrs,' and sang a song. He was so much committed to his words that after 49 days he flew from Delhi like a Chiriya (Bird). I think he had made Delhi and India golden bird within 49 days. But Delhi citizens again gave him the opportunity and now his only job is to talk against Modi and BJP. By observing Kejriwal’s speeches, it seems he must have either become Chief of Delhi Police or Lt. Governor of Delhi instead of becoming CM of Delhi. Because all development power is in their hand, he wasted voters time by becoming CM because he can’t do anything. If tomorrow he becomes PM of India, all the time he will say that China, Pakistan, and the USA are not allowing to do development in India. He has mastery in finger pointing and expert in playing blame-game politics, but I appreciate him for his oratory skills and the way he distracts people for his personal ambition.To make his political clout stronger he is supporting Nitish, and Nitish is supporting Lalu, and Lalu and Congress are together - what a great team? Kejriwal’s stand is like - I don’t support ISIS, but I support ISIL. But ISIL works together with ISIS - they are brothers in sin. It is not so difficult to understand this entire calculation and political plot. They are gearing up together from now onwards for 2019 elections. There is an old saying in the marketing world, ‘If you can’t compete with your competitor, confuse the buyers’ – here Congress and its allies are playing the same game by confusing the voters. It’s an old and working strategy and works most of the time. Most of the time buyers (voters) get confused by different brands in the market but at the end parent company is same.The outcome of Bihar election shouldn’t be a jurisdiction on BJP at a national level, and if people think so, then Indians should put themselves in the same bracket where Biharis kept themselves by electing Lalu years after years. But fortunately and unfortunately democracy could be a boon or bane depending on the awareness of voters. I come from Bihar, and no educated Bihari want to go back to Bihar, they are all settled in Delhi, Mumbai and Southern states. The voters living in Bihar are not much aware and have been kept divided in the name of caste from decades.Don’t you think Lalu and his all supporters slapped on the face of every Indian by making his two sons (9th grade) Deputy CM and Health Minister? Don’t you think they have taken Indian voters for granted? Are you not surprised to see all so-called ‘Secular-Progressive-Honest’ leaders (Kejriwal, Mamta, Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Sheila Dixit, Sharad Yadav, Omar, Yechury, D. Raja, etc.) sharing the dais together and are part of this injustice? The life of 100 million Indians (Biharis) are going to be decided by these so called ‘Secular-Progressive-Honest’ people. Will you allow them to rule your life and life of 1,250 million Indians after 2019 elections? If not, please be watchful and aware.But with Bihar election results Mr. Modi and BJP should learn lessons that PM should not get involved with every state election (there are 29 states) so deeply and the strong second rung BJP leaders must be created in every state. Otherwise, no matter how much India was shining in 2004 under Atal Bihari Vajpayee time, but the fact is that BJP didn’t come to power during the 2004 general election. What happened then after we all know. If BJP leaders are astute, they should focus on their mistakes and start gearing up for 2019 elections and should avoid 2004 general election defeat.Indian citizens elected BJP in 2014 for development and growth and that should be the only mantra for this party if they are serious to come back after 2019. They should also keep a sound check on the promises made before elections and how much have achieved so far and how they are going to achieve going forward. PM should focus on national and international issues, and state leaders should focus on state issues. Mr. Modi is a Prime Minster and should not end up as Prime Campaigner. Otherwise, he will lose focus, energy, and will be distracted with too many issues, and as a human being, we all have limitations.After 2014 general election defeat, Congress had the great opportunity to go for introspection and bring reforms to the party. I thought Rahul Gandhi is a young and thoughtful leader who will bring some changes. But it is unfortunate that Congress is not ready to bring any changes in their ideology and not willing to be out of power completely for at least 10-15 yrs. (directly and indirectly). Rahul is repeating mistakes of his predecessors. He is not ready to stand alone with honesty and dignity so that he could contribute something meaningful to India and Indian democracy. Rahul Gandhi is in a position to bring reform to his party, but it seems Congress is so power obsessed that they can’t resist to stop themselves from joining hand with corrupt leaders like Lalu and playing communal card.They are too scared from Modi and his growing popularity in India and outside India that with the help of their friends in literature, journalism, films, business, science, etc. trying to attack Mr. Modi with their new campaign of ‘Intolerance in India’ and award returning ceremony. But every aware citizen in India should acknowledge that it’s a Congress intolerance against ‘Peace and Prosperity.' The people who are returning awards have their political ideology, and no matter how famous they are in their field, they are not the conscience keeper of society. If so, why are so selective and why they were silent in the past? They have obvious political agenda, and we should ignore them. Even if 20,000 artists in future return their awards, let them keep returning, they are not representing 1,250 million people, they are only representing their political ideology and nepotism or might be naive and ignorant to understand political game.The way Lalu and many political leaders divided India on the name of caste and kept people poor, Congress and its allies want to keep Indians split in the name of religion and want to keep them weak. It is easy to rule poor and divided people because the day they become aware, their days will be numbered. This word, ‘Communal and Secular’ is infused in society by Congress and its supporters. By large, India was and is a secular nation. India was always a peace loving nation and still it is – please don’t divide people in the name of religion and caste - don’t create panic among innocent and naïve citizens by using well placed divisive media.Why not are people tolerant to give BJP 10 years to bring positive changes in India? In the past 17-18 months, India is doing well on many fronts – London-based Financial times said that FDI inflows into India during January-June 2015 stood at $31 billion, more than China ($28 billion) and USA ($27 billion). The number of foreign tourists has increased in India. India has resolved its decade-long border dispute with Bangladesh, the demand, and support for getting the permanent seat in United Nations has grown manifold in the past few months. In the war struck countries (Yemen, Iraq, Syria..) our foreign ministry has rescued Indian citizens very well and brought them home safely. We have captured underworld gangster (Chota Rajan) who was hiding since past 25 yrs. World Business rating agencies have started rating India with good ratings, the image of India is growing stronger in USA, European Union and African continent and more investors are ready to invest in India than before. If more countries invest in India, more employment will be created, and India will prosper. Now I read more positive news about India in foreign media than ever before, then what is wrong with few India-based media houses? Are they in support of prosperity and peace or not? Does only one political party run them?In 2012 when I was working in Ghana (Accra) I met one Indian who was with Indian Overseas Department and he moaned that if India invests only $ 5 million in any African country, China invests $ 1 Billion; that’s a scale of investment of China in Africa. We both felt disappointed with the lack of Indian foreign policies in the African continent. But now our Prime Minister invited 54 countries state heads to visit India to boost the trade and partnership. Africa is the richest continent with natural resources, and I was privileged to learn this while working and living there for 20 months. It opened my eyes; I saw many American and European agencies investing hugely, but China since 2009 has become the biggest investor there, and no wonder China has replaced USA as the largest economy (~ US $ 19 Trillion).But ironically, I read articles where Indian journalists are criticizing Modi that why he is going to invest $ 10 billion in African continent? My simple answer is that they are morons - they have very limited vision and are very short sighted citizens. India shares long cultural and political history with Africa, and it would be great if India invites more African students, tourists and business partners in India. Africans must be treated with respect in India, and sadly that is still missing. How can you expect returns in business unless initially, you invest money? So spending money in different countries is to grow the business and generate revenues and jobs.We have a prime minister who is traveling abroad to bring investors in India and to make political, business platform stronger for current and future generation. The previous PMs should have done the same thing, but that was completely missing. What can you expect from Manmohan Singh, Deve Gowda, IK Gujral, etc. who were accidental PMs. I have lived in developed countries like the USA, Spain and UK and their PMs and Presidents keep traveling abroad, there is nothing unusual in this, that’s requirement of this profile. There are many national level ministers, ministries, Gov. Departments, 29 state Chief Ministers and then state level departments, what are they doing? Why not they are focusing on development and resolving the local issues. The PM represent the country at international level, and that’s a demand of this post, and Mr. Modi is doing a fantastic job, and the same degree of commitment is expected from future PMs. And if the citizens in India fail to understand this and his vision, it’s very unfortunate. Many state-level bodies have been elected democratically to do development if they can’t do their job they can’t blame PM for every local issue. Not a single corruption scandal has come out in the past 18 months at the central level; the foreign media and journalists are writing positively about India, then why an only particular group of people within India are not happy?The reason is they are becoming insecure from the success of their opposition and are very much living with the fear that what will happen if this gov. keeps doing good work for another ten yrs., maybe they will become obsolete. That’s a reason they are not allowing real bills to be passed in parliament; one example is GST bill. And now they have come up with this new campaign of ‘Intolerance’ because they have nothing more meaningful to talk about and their only work is to keep dividing citizens on the name of religion and caste and keep playing communal card.My request from Indians is that if Narendra Modi is not able to deliver in the next ten yrs., throw his gov. out of power after ten yrs., but at least give him some time to do reforms. India is so vast and diverse that five years won't be enough. He has not given a single statement against any community since he became PM. Instead, he is always talking about universal brotherhood, integrity, and unity. He is a good mix of political-spiritual leader and must be supported, and if wrong, must be pointed too. I will never support his ideologies if he goes in against of any religious community, but at the moment I see him a very liberal and progressive man. He is a leader of India and leader of all faiths who live in India, and he must not be bullied because he belongs to one party. Otherwise, it will be a loss of Indian citizens. If India flourishes all strata of society will be benefited just like when the sun shines everyone enjoys no matter from which faith they come, so please show some trust and don’t judge him through the lens of religion.I was at Wembley Stadium in London on 13th Nov. when Mr. Modi and David Cameron came to give their speech to 60-70 thousand strong Indian community. The entire ambiance was a lifetime experience, and there were people from all faith (Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Jain, Sikh, etc.). Mr. Modi’s speech and his message of unity were exemplary and everyone there was spell bounded. Never before in British History and in Independent India any Indian PM has been respected so much. David Cameron even said few lines in Hindi, ‘Acche Din Aaa gaye hai’ – he was very much right indeed – but I hope Indian voters understand this. Mr. Modi is a global statesman and should be supported by every Indian who thinks beyond the religion and caste and strive for a progressive and global India of the 21st century.After the end of PM speech, one British Security personnel told me that he never knew that India has so many diverse cultures, dance forms, and he is going to download a popular song, ‘Made in India.' Mr. Modi passed Indian message in a very subtle way, and he is excellent in that.Don’t forget that BJP was the party who appointed APJ Abdul Kalam as a President of India, but Congress replaced him with Pratibha Patil - only Congress and its supporters can do such things. Who in the right mind would like to replace a great man like APJ Abdul Kalam with Pratibha Patil?If you are in support of Peace and Prosperity, let Mr. Modi to be a Prime Minister of India for another ten years. Democracy always gives you this freedom to choose - but don’t miss this global statesman and a visionary that India has got after a long gap. Please don’t get distracted by his opponents who are illustrious and influential and well known to divide and rule in the name of caste and religion.In a democracy, the destiny of any nation is decided by its citizens, and they have complete freedom for the decisions they make, let’s see in which direction Indians will take this country.

Decoding India, Modi and Growing Intolerance Against Peace and ProsperityIn 2014 I was traveling in Welsh part of UK, and it was morning time and when we switched on the TV - there was live coverage on BBC showing International Yoga Day. This event was going on in London, but the real architect of this global event was the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi. I was having coffee with American and Japanese friends in Cardiff. One of a friend said, ‘Sad, we are not in London. Otherwise, we could have also been part of it.' The first time I saw one Indian political leader who had found his admirers outside India. I left India in Dec 2011 and before that I was a full-time volunteer with India Against Corruption-Mumbai team at Andheri Chakala office, and was managing social media section, working with well-known social activists in India who later became famous national names in AAP. Since I left India, I have been to many countries in Africa, Europe, and Asia. I traveled because of my job and also doing backpacking and observing different social-political structures around the world, still doing this, and it’s a spiritual process.If I remember, first time British Media was showing something live from London that has been severely showcasing positive image of India. Otherwise, we only hear about India in Western media for rapes, earthquakes, bomb blasts, corruption, intolerance, etc. Not only the UK, on the same day my many friends from France, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, USA were also uploading Yoga pics as their profile pic on WhatsApp group. Since I used to teach meditation in Tanzania, few of my students from Tanzania who were working with European Embassies personally greeted me as well.But ironically, many in India were writing in against of Mr. Modi on the same day and against Yoga. Many critics were saying, for Mr. Modi it’s a photo opportunity. Many others wrote articles that Yoga has no scientific base and of no use, and some linked Yoga to Hinduism. Outside India everyone was writing well about Yoga, but within India Mr. Modi’s opponents were busy writing against him and Yoga. I have seen many Yoga schools in USA and Europe run by Westerners, and I am pretty sure people from the West are more rational when it comes to scientific proofs. The science we boast of today is mostly coming from the West. So, I won’t doubt their trust in having benefits on Yoga. But, Mr. Modi found many enemies during that time too within India; surprisingly.After India got independence in 1947, Congress ruled most of the time at central and state level. And whenever they were voted out, they tried their best to be in power indirectly by supporting other political parties, no matter how corrupt and communal those political parties were. They know very well the rules of this game and how by hook and crook to form a Gov. Their ideology is to be in Power and they are champions in deluding common man on the name of religion and caste. But in a democracy, they have every right to be in power because ultimately public vote a political party, so whom to blame? If public fail to understand the plot, it is their problem.Mr. Modi. has come a long way - born to a humble family to becoming the Prime Minister of world’s largest democracy, it is not a small feat. He must have an adamant vision and committed personality otherwise; it was not possible. His opponents have only one thing to say to him – Modi is communal – because of 2002 Godhra riots when he was a Chief Minister. But the fact is that he was a newly elected CM, and unfortunately, this incident happened. It might be possible that his decision came late or maybe failed to understand the ground situation and couldn’t handle it well and on time, and by that time damage was already done. But it doesn’t mean that he was responsible and was an architect for that massacre. Many independent judiciary boards have submitted reports aftermath; Congress was in power for more than ten years at the central level, and no one was able to prove that he was the mastermind behind that massacre. So, he must not be held for that brutal incident. But his opponents have found this one incident as a master card and keep playing and will keep playing in future.But in life, you have to be rational, and this world works by facts and numbers. If you start looking at the Congress regime, and the number of religious riots, social and political intolerance happened during their rule, then the list is very long. But here are few – 21 months Emergency (death of democracy) from 1975-1977, many times misuse of Article 356, 1984 Sikh riots, religious violence and militancy in Punjab from the mid-1980s till late 1990s, J&K militancy. Then ban on a book - Satanic Verses, Shah Bano case, Ram Mandir demolition, Mandal Commission Riots, Mumbai blasts followed by riots, many bomb blasts, terrorist attacks, Maoists movement, Naxal insurgency, North Indians assaulted in Maharashtra, etc. If you wish, you can add more. These all happened during Congress rule, if BJP is to be blamed for Godhra riots, lynching in UP, Babri Masjid, then Congress should be held accountable for all these. Congress can’t claim they are the holiest, and if so, then facts and figures will come on the table starting from 1947. India was not born on May 2014 when BJP came to power first time with the full majority; the Republic of India exists since many decades.Not only this – the amount of corruption committed during Congress regime will put any country on this earth to shame. From 2004-2014 only, more than $ 5 Trillion fraud happened in India – it means indirectly they killed hundreds of thousands of poor people (don’t forget poor farmers commit suicide every year). In the 21st century, Congress ruled from 2004-2014 for ten yrs. And even if you look only at their ten years record, it is terrible, and it’s hardly 17-18 months out of power, and they have come with this new Idea of, ‘Intolerance in India.' But we should rephrase this line, ‘Congress - Intolerance against Prosperity and Peace,’ and Congress is practicing this since many decades. India was never communal, India or Indus Valley (pronounced as Hindu) civilization was always tolerant, and that’s why so many religions came up in this region. We lived together, and the openness of Hinduism accepted people from every faith. This Communal-Secular divide came during British rule and later adopted by Congress and its affiliated smaller parties. Congress work with its many subsidiaries, no matter they have different names, but their ideology is same, and they work together, just like in a consumer market you see many brands competing against each other, but their parent company is same. So beneficiary is always Congress and they have been supported by many forces (inside outside India) who want to keep this country backward and away from global power.In the past months, many artists (writers, poets, filmmakers..) and scientists are returning their awards. But where were they when above mentioned incidents happened in India? Where were they when hundreds of thousands of Kashmiri Hindus threw out of Kashmir. I know many in my friend circle who moved to Delhi after anti-Hindu bashing. Where were these filmmakers and writers when Shiv Sena and MNS were beating North-Indians openly, throwing them out from a moving train, hands chopped in daylight (enough data is available on the internet). Where were their morality and conscience? The conscience shouldn’t be selective to one political party or religion. The soul of an equal human should not discriminate between Hindu or Muslim; we are all human beings. But since democracy gives you every right to take a political stand and favor one political party, you can do this. But whenever you do this, citizens of India have every right to question your credibility, and you will have to give logical answers. Also if you read the past of these celebrities, they were always in against of Modi and BJP, and they had published many articles in against of Mr. Modi before he became PM, so their growing intolerance is well understood.But again for the fairness of discussion, these intellectuals are rational people, and they must have seen some negative trends in the past few months that’s why they are returning awards. But to analyze any trend, you do a comparative analysis, and it can’t be accomplished unless you bring data from the past. Any illiterate person can say this, no reasoning could happen without comparison with the past, so please look at the history (at least go in the past 30-40 yrs.), and provide all such incidents. When and where it happened and who was in Gov. and who were these people? Every rational citizen of India would like to see numbers with facts and figures.On religious tolerance, I would like to share my experience with Muslim friends, and I am saying this through experience that India is a great nation and religiously one of the most open country I have ever come across. Visit Europe, and soon you will realize how open they are to Muslims. Since my skin color is brown I have been asked many times about my religious identity, the same way in India people ask your caste. And the moment they got to know I am non-Muslim they vented their anger against Muslims; so don’t live in an illusion that India is intolerant. In India, people from Muslim faith are doing excellent in art, literature, and the social-political world. The most famous people in the art are of the Islamic religion, and it’s the power of our Indian culture, the openness of believers in Hinduism that everyone has their voice and freedom. I have lived in Christian and Muslim-dominant countries, and they don’t have public holidays for the faith of religious minorities, but in India, we have public holidays on the name of each faith, that’s our inclusive culture and the real democracy. So, my humble request from Congress and its supported parties is not to spread hate among Indians as we have already many problems (poverty, corruption, pollution, unemployment..) to resolve – please don’t divide and rule this country.In Tanzania, I shared my flat close to nine months with one Muslim friend from Pakistan. His father was a Pakistani diplomat, and he comes from an affluent family of UP. His family left India for Pakistan in the 60s, but he told me that, that was the biggest mistake of his father. They never found acceptance in Pakistan and suffered and discriminated. So, don’t think that India is an intolerant country, it’s a great nation with great values and integrity.They way Islam can’t be linked to Terrorism because of few extremist groups around the world, in the same way, you can’t label Hinduism and India as ‘Intolerant’ because of few incidents – evils are present in each community.Personally neither I support BJP nor Congress. My support is only issue based. I am not in support of this new beef ban campaign and where some people are trying to teach morality to Indians. Personally, I am a vegetarian, and it’s my personal choice. But I will never try to enforce my thoughts on anyone. Once Swami Vivekananda said, ‘Indians should not hesitate from eating meat.' Personally, I have the same opinion. Eating meat helps to have aggression, and this helps when you have to save your nation against invasions. India needs S3 (Saints, Scientists, and Soldiers). To become a warrior you need aggression and physical strength, so let people decide what kind of meat they want to eat. Not everyone is looking for enlightenment and shouldn’t. This mother earth requires all type of individuals. Unless Indians are ready to become another Tibet, where everyone is very peace-loving, vegetarian and looking for enlightenment - the result is - Chinese invasion and its holy leader Tenzin Gyatso (14th Dalai Lama) is running everywhere to make Tibet free. Because they don’t have enough strength to make Tibet free. See Israel - a small country, and you dare to touch them. Strength is respected everywhere, and it will have respect in future as well.India has been invaded many times in the past, and its culture was destroyed. During Buddhist period, Indians were, so peace loving and meek that no strength and desire was left to fight against any invasion; they simply surrendered. During British Raj, there was never more than 100 thousand British presence in India governing 300-350 million Indians. By simple calculation - 3500 Indians were ruled by only 1 British, what a shame? In the entire human history of colonial invasion, you won’t see any such bad example. But Indians were never united, and the national spirit was completely missing; we were divided and impotent.Recently when I was reading a book in British Library in London, written in 1888 by a British scholar, John Strachey, where he writes, “The diversities of religion and race are as vast in India as in Europe, and political catastrophes have been as frequent and as violent. There are no countries in civilized Europe in which the people differ so as the man of Madras differs from the Sikh. People often complain that Indian authorities vary so significantly among themselves that you can never be sure that you have learned the truth..” That’s a reason British ruled India comfortably for more than 200-250 yrs. But after 1947, many political parties are practicing same policies in the name of caste and religion. The national spirit is still missing. We can’t keep blaming British always because of our failures; it’s already more than 69 years of independence.So let Indians eat whatever meat they want to eat and by raising such issues don’t get distracted from the original goal of development, don’t confuse and disintegrate voters, because these meat lovers will be splendid soldiers and a stronger India needs them.BJP or any of its affiliated parties should not propagate the ideology of India where people should be vegetarian only - not suitable for an active country. If you read Vedas, you will see that even Brahmins were eating meat. It’s not Gov. job to keep preaching what to eat, what not to watch on the internet or how to dress. The radicals shouldn’t try to take India backward. The modern Indians are looking for openness and let’s accept this fact that with time society needs evolution in culture, rules, and regulations. The strength of Hinduism is in openness and giving people freedom. Hinduism promotes constant growth, and it’s not a close institution like many other religions. It’s a beautiful philosophy and must not be poached by outdated radical thoughts. And don’t forget that radicals are present in every religion, and they are dangerous for any society.The goal of BJP should be to bring 300-400 million people out of extreme poverty and provide them a good education, healthcare, and better-living standard. The goal should be to make India the most vibrant, the richest and powerful country where every Indian (Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Zoroastrian, Zen) must be treated equally. And this goal should be of every political party.At the same time, BJP should put a curb on their outspoken leaders and should not encourage any fanatic groups. And if BJP leaders are politically smart they should not lose their vote share by speaking against religious minority or any caste - 2019 elections are not so far.Congress terribly failed to achieve United-India – they have ruled India for more than 50 yrs. And they can’t run away from this fact. And whenever they were out of power, they started playing the card of Communal-Secular, it’s an old colonial game (Divide and Rule).In recent Bihar elections, they supported a party that took Bihar to the stone age. I come from Bihar, and I know what Bihar became during Lalu Raj (Jungle Raj). But Congress is so greedy, power hungry and anti-BJP that it will go to any length to remain in authority – their ideology is only to be in authority. During Jungle Raj, more than 20 thousand murders happened only between 2000 - 2005. Extortions, daylight killings, rapes, murders were rampant everywhere. Many films have been made on this, books have been written, and the result is, ‘Bihari’ became an offensive word outside Bihar. I come from Bihar, so I know how people reacted the moment you said you are from Bihar. Lalu made caste system deep and kept whole Bihar deliberately rural so that he could exploit them quickly. Bihar became the most backward state and still 90% of Bihar is rural. Whenever during summer vacations I used to visit Bihar no one dared to step outside their house once the sun was set. Believe me - I have been to many African countries (East, West Central), and with my experience, I can say that till 2005 Bihar was in more terrible shape than any African country I have visited. African countries were safer and free than Bihar.Lalu took Bihar rock bottom, kept people illiterate, used people for his vested interest, put his wife in power when sentenced to jail. He promoted booth capturing openly, his in-laws were involved in criminal activities, destroyed his opponents and didn’t trust any other political friends and party, but still ruled Bihar for more than 15 yrs. And Congress supported him - and now Nitish Kumar is with him - It’s a fall of Nitish Kumar.Nitish Kumar undoubtedly tried to bring reforms in Bihar and better than Lalu. He brought crime in control and tried his best to improve the infrastructure. He provided jobs to many, and among my cousins; many became a teacher. But here is a problem, these teachers are incapable that I doubt they can write few pages in Hindi or English. My cousin sisters who passed exams by writing papers at home and submitting exam papers next day became school teachers. Today they earn Rs. 20,000/- every month and rarely visit the school, though they have given free bicycle. They are utterly incapable of teaching to anyone; they should be taught basics first before they get ready to teach others. But by giving Rs. 50,000/- bribe to the Sarpanch (Village Mukhiya) they became a teacher. I won’t blame Nitish for this because he can’t monitor every citizen in Bihar, but at least he should have tried to look into this matter in the past ten years, but he failed.I am sure many women must have voted for Nitish and why not? For them, Nitish Kumar is a Messiah who gave them free salary every month with one free bicycle. The result is that kids stopped going schools because they knew they find out more than their teachers. Many private teaching schools flourished in Bihar, but eventually the burden is only to the public, the corrupt remained corrupt and poor remained poor. Though, few who could afford to bribe found jobs and achieved monetary benefits.But Nitish Kumar was in coalition with BJP for more than a decade, later parted away from BJP, because personally he didn’t like Modi and saw whom he chose? - Lalu Yadav, Congress, etc. There are many interviews and live footage available on the internet where Nitish said many nasty words for Lalu before joining hands with him, but after last year’s national election he realized that he couldn't survive alone against BJP, so he joined hands with Lalu to remain in power - greed is apparent. His desire for power has made millions in Bihar to suffer.The other great modern leader who exposed himself is Arvind Kejriwal. His only aspiration is to become Prime Minister, but he is in haste, and so much in a hurry that revealed himself very quickly. Day and night are only criticizing Modi; it seems he has already resolved all problems of Delhi citizens. I remember when he became Delhi CM the first time I went to listen to his speech at Ram-Lila Maidan where he gave a lecture that now India will become ‘Soney Ki Chiriyaa (Golden Bird) within five yrs,' and sang a song. He was so much committed to his words that after 49 days he flew from Delhi like a Chiriya (Bird). I think he had made Delhi and India golden bird within 49 days. But Delhi citizens again gave him the opportunity and now his only job is to talk against Modi and BJP. By observing Kejriwal’s speeches, it seems he must have either become Chief of Delhi Police or Lt. Governor of Delhi instead of becoming CM of Delhi. Because all development power is in their hand, he wasted voters time by becoming CM because he can’t do anything. If tomorrow he becomes PM of India, all the time he will say that China, Pakistan, and the USA are not allowing to do development in India. He has mastery in finger pointing and expert in playing blame-game politics, but I appreciate him for his oratory skills and the way he distracts people for his personal ambition.To make his political clout stronger he is supporting Nitish, and Nitish is supporting Lalu, and Lalu and Congress are together - what a great team? Kejriwal’s stand is like - I don’t support ISIS, but I support ISIL. But ISIL works together with ISIS - they are brothers in sin. It is not so difficult to understand this entire calculation and political plot. They are gearing up together from now onwards for 2019 elections. There is an old saying in the marketing world, ‘If you can’t compete with your competitor, confuse the buyers’ – here Congress and its allies are playing the same game by confusing the voters. It’s an old and working strategy and works most of the time. Most of the time buyers (voters) get confused by different brands in the market but at the end parent company is same.The outcome of Bihar election shouldn’t be a jurisdiction on BJP at a national level, and if people think so, then Indians should put themselves in the same bracket where Biharis kept themselves by electing Lalu years after years. But fortunately and unfortunately democracy could be a boon or bane depending on the awareness of voters. I come from Bihar, and no educated Bihari want to go back to Bihar, they are all settled in Delhi, Mumbai and Southern states. The voters living in Bihar are not much aware and have been kept divided in the name of caste from decades.Don’t you think Lalu and his all supporters slapped on the face of every Indian by making his two sons (9th grade) Deputy CM and Health Minister? Don’t you think they have taken Indian voters for granted? Are you not surprised to see all so-called ‘Secular-Progressive-Honest’ leaders (Kejriwal, Mamta, Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Sheila Dixit, Sharad Yadav, Omar, Yechury, D. Raja, etc.) sharing the dais together and are part of this injustice? The life of 100 million Indians (Biharis) are going to be decided by these so called ‘Secular-Progressive-Honest’ people. Will you allow them to rule your life and life of 1,250 million Indians after 2019 elections? If not, please be watchful and aware.But with Bihar election results Mr. Modi and BJP should learn lessons that PM should not get involved with every state election (there are 29 states) so deeply and the strong second rung BJP leaders must be created in every state. Otherwise, no matter how much India was shining in 2004 under Atal Bihari Vajpayee time, but the fact is that BJP didn’t come to power during the 2004 general election. What happened then after we all know. If BJP leaders are astute, they should focus on their mistakes and start gearing up for 2019 elections and should avoid 2004 general election defeat.Indian citizens elected BJP in 2014 for development and growth and that should be the only mantra for this party if they are serious to come back after 2019. They should also keep a sound check on the promises made before elections and how much have achieved so far and how they are going to achieve going forward. PM should focus on national and international issues, and state leaders should focus on state issues. Mr. Modi is a Prime Minster and should not end up as Prime Campaigner. Otherwise, he will lose focus, energy, and will be distracted with too many issues, and as a human being, we all have limitations.After 2014 general election defeat, Congress had the great opportunity to go for introspection and bring reforms to the party. I thought Rahul Gandhi is a young and thoughtful leader who will bring some changes. But it is unfortunate that Congress is not ready to bring any changes in their ideology and not willing to be out of power completely for at least 10-15 yrs. (directly and indirectly). Rahul is repeating mistakes of his predecessors. He is not ready to stand alone with honesty and dignity so that he could contribute something meaningful to India and Indian democracy. Rahul Gandhi is in a position to bring reform to his party, but it seems Congress is so power obsessed that they can’t resist to stop themselves from joining hand with corrupt leaders like Lalu and playing communal card.They are too scared from Modi and his growing popularity in India and outside India that with the help of their friends in literature, journalism, films, business, science, etc. trying to attack Mr. Modi with their new campaign of ‘Intolerance in India’ and award returning ceremony. But every aware citizen in India should acknowledge that it’s a Congress intolerance against ‘Peace and Prosperity.' The people who are returning awards have their political ideology, and no matter how famous they are in their field, they are not the conscience keeper of society. If so, why are so selective and why they were silent in the past? They have obvious political agenda, and we should ignore them. Even if 20,000 artists in future return their awards, let them keep returning, they are not representing 1,250 million people, they are only representing their political ideology and nepotism or might be naive and ignorant to understand political game.The way Lalu and many political leaders divided India on the name of caste and kept people poor, Congress and its allies want to keep Indians split in the name of religion and want to keep them weak. It is easy to rule poor and divided people because the day they become aware, their days will be numbered. This word, ‘Communal and Secular’ is infused in society by Congress and its supporters. By large, India was and is a secular nation. India was always a peace loving nation and still it is – please don’t divide people in the name of religion and caste - don’t create panic among innocent and naïve citizens by using well placed divisive media.Why not are people tolerant to give BJP 10 years to bring positive changes in India? In the past 17-18 months, India is doing well on many fronts – London-based Financial times said that FDI inflows into India during January-June 2015 stood at $31 billion, more than China ($28 billion) and USA ($27 billion). The number of foreign tourists has increased in India. India has resolved its decade-long border dispute with Bangladesh, the demand, and support for getting the permanent seat in United Nations has grown manifold in the past few months. In the war struck countries (Yemen, Iraq, Syria..) our foreign ministry has rescued Indian citizens very well and brought them home safely. We have captured underworld gangster (Chota Rajan) who was hiding since past 25 yrs. World Business rating agencies have started rating India with good ratings, the image of India is growing stronger in USA, European Union and African continent and more investors are ready to invest in India than before. If more countries invest in India, more employment will be created, and India will prosper. Now I read more positive news about India in foreign media than ever before, then what is wrong with few India-based media houses? Are they in support of prosperity and peace or not? Does only one political party run them?In 2012 when I was working in Ghana (Accra) I met one Indian who was with Indian Overseas Department and he moaned that if India invests only $ 5 million in any African country, China invests $ 1 Billion; that’s a scale of investment of China in Africa. We both felt disappointed with the lack of Indian foreign policies in the African continent. But now our Prime Minister invited 54 countries state heads to visit India to boost the trade and partnership. Africa is the richest continent with natural resources, and I was privileged to learn this while working and living there for 20 months. It opened my eyes; I saw many American and European agencies investing hugely, but China since 2009 has become the biggest investor there, and no wonder China has replaced USA as the largest economy (~ US $ 19 Trillion).But ironically, I read articles where Indian journalists are criticizing Modi that why he is going to invest $ 10 billion in African continent? My simple answer is that they are morons - they have very limited vision and are very short sighted citizens. India shares long cultural and political history with Africa, and it would be great if India invites more African students, tourists and business partners in India. Africans must be treated with respect in India, and sadly that is still missing. How can you expect returns in business unless initially, you invest money? So spending money in different countries is to grow the business and generate revenues and jobs.We have a prime minister who is traveling abroad to bring investors in India and to make political, business platform stronger for current and future generation. The previous PMs should have done the same thing, but that was completely missing. What can you expect from Manmohan Singh, Deve Gowda, IK Gujral, etc. who were accidental PMs. I have lived in developed countries like the USA, Spain and UK and their PMs and Presidents keep traveling abroad, there is nothing unusual in this, that’s requirement of this profile. There are many national level ministers, ministries, Gov. Departments, 29 state Chief Ministers and then state level departments, what are they doing? Why not they are focusing on development and resolving the local issues. The PM represent the country at international level, and that’s a demand of this post, and Mr. Modi is doing a fantastic job, and the same degree of commitment is expected from future PMs. And if the citizens in India fail to understand this and his vision, it’s very unfortunate. Many state-level bodies have been elected democratically to do development if they can’t do their job they can’t blame PM for every local issue. Not a single corruption scandal has come out in the past 18 months at the central level; the foreign media and journalists are writing positively about India, then why an only particular group of people within India are not happy?The reason is they are becoming insecure from the success of their opposition and are very much living with the fear that what will happen if this gov. keeps doing good work for another ten yrs., maybe they will become obsolete. That’s a reason they are not allowing real bills to be passed in parliament; one example is GST bill. And now they have come up with this new campaign of ‘Intolerance’ because they have nothing more meaningful to talk about and their only work is to keep dividing citizens on the name of religion and caste and keep playing communal card.My request from Indians is that if Narendra Modi is not able to deliver in the next ten yrs., throw his gov. out of power after ten yrs., but at least give him some time to do reforms. India is so vast and diverse that five years won't be enough. He has not given a single statement against any community since he became PM. Instead, he is always talking about universal brotherhood, integrity, and unity. He is a good mix of political-spiritual leader and must be supported, and if wrong, must be pointed too. I will never support his ideologies if he goes in against of any religious community, but at the moment I see him a very liberal and progressive man. He is a leader of India and leader of all faiths who live in India, and he must not be bullied because he belongs to one party. Otherwise, it will be a loss of Indian citizens. If India flourishes all strata of society will be benefited just like when the sun shines everyone enjoys no matter from which faith they come, so please show some trust and don’t judge him through the lens of religion.I was at Wembley Stadium in London on 13th Nov. when Mr. Modi and David Cameron came to give their speech to 60-70 thousand strong Indian community. The entire ambiance was a lifetime experience, and there were people from all faith (Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Jain, Sikh, etc.). Mr. Modi’s speech and his message of unity were exemplary and everyone there was spell bounded. Never before in British History and in Independent India any Indian PM has been respected so much. David Cameron even said few lines in Hindi, ‘Acche Din Aaa gaye hai’ – he was very much right indeed – but I hope Indian voters understand this. Mr. Modi is a global statesman and should be supported by every Indian who thinks beyond the religion and caste and strive for a progressive and global India of the 21st century.After the end of PM speech, one British Security personnel told me that he never knew that India has so many diverse cultures, dance forms, and he is going to download a popular song, ‘Made in India.' Mr. Modi passed Indian message in a very subtle way, and he is excellent in that.Don’t forget that BJP was the party who appointed APJ Abdul Kalam as a President of India, but Congress replaced him with Pratibha Patil - only Congress and its supporters can do such things. Who in the right mind would like to replace a great man like APJ Abdul Kalam with Pratibha Patil?If you are in support of Peace and Prosperity, let Mr. Modi to be a Prime Minister of India for another ten years. Democracy always gives you this freedom to choose - but don’t miss this global statesman and a visionary that India has got after a long gap. Please don’t get distracted by his opponents who are illustrious and influential and well known to divide and rule in the name of caste and religion.In a democracy, the destiny of any nation is decided by its citizens, and they have complete freedom for the decisions they make, let’s see in which direction Indians will take this country.

Decoding India, Modi and Growing Intolerance Against Peace and ProsperityIn 2014 I was traveling in Welsh part of UK, and it was morning time and when we switched on the TV - there was live coverage on BBC showing International Yoga Day. This event was going on in London, but the real architect of this global event was the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi. I was having coffee with American and Japanese friends in Cardiff. One of a friend said, ‘Sad, we are not in London. Otherwise, we could have also been part of it.' The first time I saw one Indian political leader who had found his admirers outside India. I left India in Dec 2011 and before that I was a full-time volunteer with India Against Corruption-Mumbai team at Andheri Chakala office, and was managing social media section, working with well-known social activists in India who later became famous national names in AAP. Since I left India, I have been to many countries in Africa, Europe, and Asia. I traveled because of my job and also doing backpacking and observing different social-political structures around the world, still doing this, and it’s a spiritual process.If I remember, first time British Media was showing something live from London that has been severely showcasing positive image of India. Otherwise, we only hear about India in Western media for rapes, earthquakes, bomb blasts, corruption, intolerance, etc. Not only the UK, on the same day my many friends from France, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, USA were also uploading Yoga pics as their profile pic on WhatsApp group. Since I used to teach meditation in Tanzania, few of my students from Tanzania who were working with European Embassies personally greeted me as well.But ironically, many in India were writing in against of Mr. Modi on the same day and against Yoga. Many critics were saying, for Mr. Modi it’s a photo opportunity. Many others wrote articles that Yoga has no scientific base and of no use, and some linked Yoga to Hinduism. Outside India everyone was writing well about Yoga, but within India Mr. Modi’s opponents were busy writing against him and Yoga. I have seen many Yoga schools in USA and Europe run by Westerners, and I am pretty sure people from the West are more rational when it comes to scientific proofs. The science we boast of today is mostly coming from the West. So, I won’t doubt their trust in having benefits on Yoga. But, Mr. Modi found many enemies during that time too within India; surprisingly.After India got independence in 1947, Congress ruled most of the time at central and state level. And whenever they were voted out, they tried their best to be in power indirectly by supporting other political parties, no matter how corrupt and communal those political parties were. They know very well the rules of this game and how by hook and crook to form a Gov. Their ideology is to be in Power and they are champions in deluding common man on the name of religion and caste. But in a democracy, they have every right to be in power because ultimately public vote a political party, so whom to blame? If public fail to understand the plot, it is their problem.Mr. Modi. has come a long way - born to a humble family to becoming the Prime Minister of world’s largest democracy, it is not a small feat. He must have an adamant vision and committed personality otherwise; it was not possible. His opponents have only one thing to say to him – Modi is communal – because of 2002 Godhra riots when he was a Chief Minister. But the fact is that he was a newly elected CM, and unfortunately, this incident happened. It might be possible that his decision came late or maybe failed to understand the ground situation and couldn’t handle it well and on time, and by that time damage was already done. But it doesn’t mean that he was responsible and was an architect for that massacre. Many independent judiciary boards have submitted reports aftermath; Congress was in power for more than ten years at the central level, and no one was able to prove that he was the mastermind behind that massacre. So, he must not be held for that brutal incident. But his opponents have found this one incident as a master card and keep playing and will keep playing in future.But in life, you have to be rational, and this world works by facts and numbers. If you start looking at the Congress regime, and the number of religious riots, social and political intolerance happened during their rule, then the list is very long. But here are few – 21 months Emergency (death of democracy) from 1975-1977, many times misuse of Article 356, 1984 Sikh riots, religious violence and militancy in Punjab from the mid-1980s till late 1990s, J&K militancy. Then ban on a book - Satanic Verses, Shah Bano case, Ram Mandir demolition, Mandal Commission Riots, Mumbai blasts followed by riots, many bomb blasts, terrorist attacks, Maoists movement, Naxal insurgency, North Indians assaulted in Maharashtra, etc. If you wish, you can add more. These all happened during Congress rule, if BJP is to be blamed for Godhra riots, lynching in UP, Babri Masjid, then Congress should be held accountable for all these. Congress can’t claim they are the holiest, and if so, then facts and figures will come on the table starting from 1947. India was not born on May 2014 when BJP came to power first time with the full majority; the Republic of India exists since many decades.Not only this – the amount of corruption committed during Congress regime will put any country on this earth to shame. From 2004-2014 only, more than $ 5 Trillion fraud happened in India – it means indirectly they killed hundreds of thousands of poor people (don’t forget poor farmers commit suicide every year). In the 21st century, Congress ruled from 2004-2014 for ten yrs. And even if you look only at their ten years record, it is terrible, and it’s hardly 17-18 months out of power, and they have come with this new Idea of, ‘Intolerance in India.' But we should rephrase this line, ‘Congress - Intolerance against Prosperity and Peace,’ and Congress is practicing this since many decades. India was never communal, India or Indus Valley (pronounced as Hindu) civilization was always tolerant, and that’s why so many religions came up in this region. We lived together, and the openness of Hinduism accepted people from every faith. This Communal-Secular divide came during British rule and later adopted by Congress and its affiliated smaller parties. Congress work with its many subsidiaries, no matter they have different names, but their ideology is same, and they work together, just like in a consumer market you see many brands competing against each other, but their parent company is same. So beneficiary is always Congress and they have been supported by many forces (inside outside India) who want to keep this country backward and away from global power.In the past months, many artists (writers, poets, filmmakers..) and scientists are returning their awards. But where were they when above mentioned incidents happened in India? Where were they when hundreds of thousands of Kashmiri Hindus threw out of Kashmir. I know many in my friend circle who moved to Delhi after anti-Hindu bashing. Where were these filmmakers and writers when Shiv Sena and MNS were beating North-Indians openly, throwing them out from a moving train, hands chopped in daylight (enough data is available on the internet). Where were their morality and conscience? The conscience shouldn’t be selective to one political party or religion. The soul of an equal human should not discriminate between Hindu or Muslim; we are all human beings. But since democracy gives you every right to take a political stand and favor one political party, you can do this. But whenever you do this, citizens of India have every right to question your credibility, and you will have to give logical answers. Also if you read the past of these celebrities, they were always in against of Modi and BJP, and they had published many articles in against of Mr. Modi before he became PM, so their growing intolerance is well understood.But again for the fairness of discussion, these intellectuals are rational people, and they must have seen some negative trends in the past few months that’s why they are returning awards. But to analyze any trend, you do a comparative analysis, and it can’t be accomplished unless you bring data from the past. Any illiterate person can say this, no reasoning could happen without comparison with the past, so please look at the history (at least go in the past 30-40 yrs.), and provide all such incidents. When and where it happened and who was in Gov. and who were these people? Every rational citizen of India would like to see numbers with facts and figures.On religious tolerance, I would like to share my experience with Muslim friends, and I am saying this through experience that India is a great nation and religiously one of the most open country I have ever come across. Visit Europe, and soon you will realize how open they are to Muslims. Since my skin color is brown I have been asked many times about my religious identity, the same way in India people ask your caste. And the moment they got to know I am non-Muslim they vented their anger against Muslims; so don’t live in an illusion that India is intolerant. In India, people from Muslim faith are doing excellent in art, literature, and the social-political world. The most famous people in the art are of the Islamic religion, and it’s the power of our Indian culture, the openness of believers in Hinduism that everyone has their voice and freedom. I have lived in Christian and Muslim-dominant countries, and they don’t have public holidays for the faith of religious minorities, but in India, we have public holidays on the name of each faith, that’s our inclusive culture and the real democracy. So, my humble request from Congress and its supported parties is not to spread hate among Indians as we have already many problems (poverty, corruption, pollution, unemployment..) to resolve – please don’t divide and rule this country.In Tanzania, I shared my flat close to nine months with one Muslim friend from Pakistan. His father was a Pakistani diplomat, and he comes from an affluent family of UP. His family left India for Pakistan in the 60s, but he told me that, that was the biggest mistake of his father. They never found acceptance in Pakistan and suffered and discriminated. So, don’t think that India is an intolerant country, it’s a great nation with great values and integrity.They way Islam can’t be linked to Terrorism because of few extremist groups around the world, in the same way, you can’t label Hinduism and India as ‘Intolerant’ because of few incidents – evils are present in each community.Personally neither I support BJP nor Congress. My support is only issue based. I am not in support of this new beef ban campaign and where some people are trying to teach morality to Indians. Personally, I am a vegetarian, and it’s my personal choice. But I will never try to enforce my thoughts on anyone. Once Swami Vivekananda said, ‘Indians should not hesitate from eating meat.' Personally, I have the same opinion. Eating meat helps to have aggression, and this helps when you have to save your nation against invasions. India needs S3 (Saints, Scientists, and Soldiers). To become a warrior you need aggression and physical strength, so let people decide what kind of meat they want to eat. Not everyone is looking for enlightenment and shouldn’t. This mother earth requires all type of individuals. Unless Indians are ready to become another Tibet, where everyone is very peace-loving, vegetarian and looking for enlightenment - the result is - Chinese invasion and its holy leader Tenzin Gyatso (14th Dalai Lama) is running everywhere to make Tibet free. Because they don’t have enough strength to make Tibet free. See Israel - a small country, and you dare to touch them. Strength is respected everywhere, and it will have respect in future as well.India has been invaded many times in the past, and its culture was destroyed. During Buddhist period, Indians were, so peace loving and meek that no strength and desire was left to fight against any invasion; they simply surrendered. During British Raj, there was never more than 100 thousand British presence in India governing 300-350 million Indians. By simple calculation - 3500 Indians were ruled by only 1 British, what a shame? In the entire human history of colonial invasion, you won’t see any such bad example. But Indians were never united, and the national spirit was completely missing; we were divided and impotent.Recently when I was reading a book in British Library in London, written in 1888 by a British scholar, John Strachey, where he writes, “The diversities of religion and race are as vast in India as in Europe, and political catastrophes have been as frequent and as violent. There are no countries in civilized Europe in which the people differ so as the man of Madras differs from the Sikh. People often complain that Indian authorities vary so significantly among themselves that you can never be sure that you have learned the truth..” That’s a reason British ruled India comfortably for more than 200-250 yrs. But after 1947, many political parties are practicing same policies in the name of caste and religion. The national spirit is still missing. We can’t keep blaming British always because of our failures; it’s already more than 69 years of independence.So let Indians eat whatever meat they want to eat and by raising such issues don’t get distracted from the original goal of development, don’t confuse and disintegrate voters, because these meat lovers will be splendid soldiers and a stronger India needs them.BJP or any of its affiliated parties should not propagate the ideology of India where people should be vegetarian only - not suitable for an active country. If you read Vedas, you will see that even Brahmins were eating meat. It’s not Gov. job to keep preaching what to eat, what not to watch on the internet or how to dress. The radicals shouldn’t try to take India backward. The modern Indians are looking for openness and let’s accept this fact that with time society needs evolution in culture, rules, and regulations. The strength of Hinduism is in openness and giving people freedom. Hinduism promotes constant growth, and it’s not a close institution like many other religions. It’s a beautiful philosophy and must not be poached by outdated radical thoughts. And don’t forget that radicals are present in every religion, and they are dangerous for any society.The goal of BJP should be to bring 300-400 million people out of extreme poverty and provide them a good education, healthcare, and better-living standard. The goal should be to make India the most vibrant, the richest and powerful country where every Indian (Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Zoroastrian, Zen) must be treated equally. And this goal should be of every political party.At the same time, BJP should put a curb on their outspoken leaders and should not encourage any fanatic groups. And if BJP leaders are politically smart they should not lose their vote share by speaking against religious minority or any caste - 2019 elections are not so far.Congress terribly failed to achieve United-India – they have ruled India for more than 50 yrs. And they can’t run away from this fact. And whenever they were out of power, they started playing the card of Communal-Secular, it’s an old colonial game (Divide and Rule).In recent Bihar elections, they supported a party that took Bihar to the stone age. I come from Bihar, and I know what Bihar became during Lalu Raj (Jungle Raj). But Congress is so greedy, power hungry and anti-BJP that it will go to any length to remain in authority – their ideology is only to be in authority. During Jungle Raj, more than 20 thousand murders happened only between 2000 - 2005. Extortions, daylight killings, rapes, murders were rampant everywhere. Many films have been made on this, books have been written, and the result is, ‘Bihari’ became an offensive word outside Bihar. I come from Bihar, so I know how people reacted the moment you said you are from Bihar. Lalu made caste system deep and kept whole Bihar deliberately rural so that he could exploit them quickly. Bihar became the most backward state and still 90% of Bihar is rural. Whenever during summer vacations I used to visit Bihar no one dared to step outside their house once the sun was set. Believe me - I have been to many African countries (East, West Central), and with my experience, I can say that till 2005 Bihar was in more terrible shape than any African country I have visited. African countries were safer and free than Bihar.Lalu took Bihar rock bottom, kept people illiterate, used people for his vested interest, put his wife in power when sentenced to jail. He promoted booth capturing openly, his in-laws were involved in criminal activities, destroyed his opponents and didn’t trust any other political friends and party, but still ruled Bihar for more than 15 yrs. And Congress supported him - and now Nitish Kumar is with him - It’s a fall of Nitish Kumar.Nitish Kumar undoubtedly tried to bring reforms in Bihar and better than Lalu. He brought crime in control and tried his best to improve the infrastructure. He provided jobs to many, and among my cousins; many became a teacher. But here is a problem, these teachers are incapable that I doubt they can write few pages in Hindi or English. My cousin sisters who passed exams by writing papers at home and submitting exam papers next day became school teachers. Today they earn Rs. 20,000/- every month and rarely visit the school, though they have given free bicycle. They are utterly incapable of teaching to anyone; they should be taught basics first before they get ready to teach others. But by giving Rs. 50,000/- bribe to the Sarpanch (Village Mukhiya) they became a teacher. I won’t blame Nitish for this because he can’t monitor every citizen in Bihar, but at least he should have tried to look into this matter in the past ten years, but he failed.I am sure many women must have voted for Nitish and why not? For them, Nitish Kumar is a Messiah who gave them free salary every month with one free bicycle. The result is that kids stopped going schools because they knew they find out more than their teachers. Many private teaching schools flourished in Bihar, but eventually the burden is only to the public, the corrupt remained corrupt and poor remained poor. Though, few who could afford to bribe found jobs and achieved monetary benefits.But Nitish Kumar was in coalition with BJP for more than a decade, later parted away from BJP, because personally he didn’t like Modi and saw whom he chose? - Lalu Yadav, Congress, etc. There are many interviews and live footage available on the internet where Nitish said many nasty words for Lalu before joining hands with him, but after last year’s national election he realized that he couldn't survive alone against BJP, so he joined hands with Lalu to remain in power - greed is apparent. His desire for power has made millions in Bihar to suffer.The other great modern leader who exposed himself is Arvind Kejriwal. His only aspiration is to become Prime Minister, but he is in haste, and so much in a hurry that revealed himself very quickly. Day and night are only criticizing Modi; it seems he has already resolved all problems of Delhi citizens. I remember when he became Delhi CM the first time I went to listen to his speech at Ram-Lila Maidan where he gave a lecture that now India will become ‘Soney Ki Chiriyaa (Golden Bird) within five yrs,' and sang a song. He was so much committed to his words that after 49 days he flew from Delhi like a Chiriya (Bird). I think he had made Delhi and India golden bird within 49 days. But Delhi citizens again gave him the opportunity and now his only job is to talk against Modi and BJP. By observing Kejriwal’s speeches, it seems he must have either become Chief of Delhi Police or Lt. Governor of Delhi instead of becoming CM of Delhi. Because all development power is in their hand, he wasted voters time by becoming CM because he can’t do anything. If tomorrow he becomes PM of India, all the time he will say that China, Pakistan, and the USA are not allowing to do development in India. He has mastery in finger pointing and expert in playing blame-game politics, but I appreciate him for his oratory skills and the way he distracts people for his personal ambition.To make his political clout stronger he is supporting Nitish, and Nitish is supporting Lalu, and Lalu and Congress are together - what a great team? Kejriwal’s stand is like - I don’t support ISIS, but I support ISIL. But ISIL works together with ISIS - they are brothers in sin. It is not so difficult to understand this entire calculation and political plot. They are gearing up together from now onwards for 2019 elections. There is an old saying in the marketing world, ‘If you can’t compete with your competitor, confuse the buyers’ – here Congress and its allies are playing the same game by confusing the voters. It’s an old and working strategy and works most of the time. Most of the time buyers (voters) get confused by different brands in the market but at the end parent company is same.The outcome of Bihar election shouldn’t be a jurisdiction on BJP at a national level, and if people think so, then Indians should put themselves in the same bracket where Biharis kept themselves by electing Lalu years after years. But fortunately and unfortunately democracy could be a boon or bane depending on the awareness of voters. I come from Bihar, and no educated Bihari want to go back to Bihar, they are all settled in Delhi, Mumbai and Southern states. The voters living in Bihar are not much aware and have been kept divided in the name of caste from decades.Don’t you think Lalu and his all supporters slapped on the face of every Indian by making his two sons (9th grade) Deputy CM and Health Minister? Don’t you think they have taken Indian voters for granted? Are you not surprised to see all so-called ‘Secular-Progressive-Honest’ leaders (Kejriwal, Mamta, Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Sheila Dixit, Sharad Yadav, Omar, Yechury, D. Raja, etc.) sharing the dais together and are part of this injustice? The life of 100 million Indians (Biharis) are going to be decided by these so called ‘Secular-Progressive-Honest’ people. Will you allow them to rule your life and life of 1,250 million Indians after 2019 elections? If not, please be watchful and aware.But with Bihar election results Mr. Modi and BJP should learn lessons that PM should not get involved with every state election (there are 29 states) so deeply and the strong second rung BJP leaders must be created in every state. Otherwise, no matter how much India was shining in 2004 under Atal Bihari Vajpayee time, but the fact is that BJP didn’t come to power during the 2004 general election. What happened then after we all know. If BJP leaders are astute, they should focus on their mistakes and start gearing up for 2019 elections and should avoid 2004 general election defeat.Indian citizens elected BJP in 2014 for development and growth and that should be the only mantra for this party if they are serious to come back after 2019. They should also keep a sound check on the promises made before elections and how much have achieved so far and how they are going to achieve going forward. PM should focus on national and international issues, and state leaders should focus on state issues. Mr. Modi is a Prime Minster and should not end up as Prime Campaigner. Otherwise, he will lose focus, energy, and will be distracted with too many issues, and as a human being, we all have limitations.After 2014 general election defeat, Congress had the great opportunity to go for introspection and bring reforms to the party. I thought Rahul Gandhi is a young and thoughtful leader who will bring some changes. But it is unfortunate that Congress is not ready to bring any changes in their ideology and not willing to be out of power completely for at least 10-15 yrs. (directly and indirectly). Rahul is repeating mistakes of his predecessors. He is not ready to stand alone with honesty and dignity so that he could contribute something meaningful to India and Indian democracy. Rahul Gandhi is in a position to bring reform to his party, but it seems Congress is so power obsessed that they can’t resist to stop themselves from joining hand with corrupt leaders like Lalu and playing communal card.They are too scared from Modi and his growing popularity in India and outside India that with the help of their friends in literature, journalism, films, business, science, etc. trying to attack Mr. Modi with their new campaign of ‘Intolerance in India’ and award returning ceremony. But every aware citizen in India should acknowledge that it’s a Congress intolerance against ‘Peace and Prosperity.' The people who are returning awards have their political ideology, and no matter how famous they are in their field, they are not the conscience keeper of society. If so, why are so selective and why they were silent in the past? They have obvious political agenda, and we should ignore them. Even if 20,000 artists in future return their awards, let them keep returning, they are not representing 1,250 million people, they are only representing their political ideology and nepotism or might be naive and ignorant to understand political game.The way Lalu and many political leaders divided India on the name of caste and kept people poor, Congress and its allies want to keep Indians split in the name of religion and want to keep them weak. It is easy to rule poor and divided people because the day they become aware, their days will be numbered. This word, ‘Communal and Secular’ is infused in society by Congress and its supporters. By large, India was and is a secular nation. India was always a peace loving nation and still it is – please don’t divide people in the name of religion and caste - don’t create panic among innocent and naïve citizens by using well placed divisive media.Why not are people tolerant to give BJP 10 years to bring positive changes in India? In the past 17-18 months, India is doing well on many fronts – London-based Financial times said that FDI inflows into India during January-June 2015 stood at $31 billion, more than China ($28 billion) and USA ($27 billion). The number of foreign tourists has increased in India. India has resolved its decade-long border dispute with Bangladesh, the demand, and support for getting the permanent seat in United Nations has grown manifold in the past few months. In the war struck countries (Yemen, Iraq, Syria..) our foreign ministry has rescued Indian citizens very well and brought them home safely. We have captured underworld gangster (Chota Rajan) who was hiding since past 25 yrs. World Business rating agencies have started rating India with good ratings, the image of India is growing stronger in USA, European Union and African continent and more investors are ready to invest in India than before. If more countries invest in India, more employment will be created, and India will prosper. Now I read more positive news about India in foreign media than ever before, then what is wrong with few India-based media houses? Are they in support of prosperity and peace or not? Does only one political party run them?In 2012 when I was working in Ghana (Accra) I met one Indian who was with Indian Overseas Department and he moaned that if India invests only $ 5 million in any African country, China invests $ 1 Billion; that’s a scale of investment of China in Africa. We both felt disappointed with the lack of Indian foreign policies in the African continent. But now our Prime Minister invited 54 countries state heads to visit India to boost the trade and partnership. Africa is the richest continent with natural resources, and I was privileged to learn this while working and living there for 20 months. It opened my eyes; I saw many American and European agencies investing hugely, but China since 2009 has become the biggest investor there, and no wonder China has replaced USA as the largest economy (~ US $ 19 Trillion).But ironically, I read articles where Indian journalists are criticizing Modi that why he is going to invest $ 10 billion in African continent? My simple answer is that they are morons - they have very limited vision and are very short sighted citizens. India shares long cultural and political history with Africa, and it would be great if India invites more African students, tourists and business partners in India. Africans must be treated with respect in India, and sadly that is still missing. How can you expect returns in business unless initially, you invest money? So spending money in different countries is to grow the business and generate revenues and jobs.We have a prime minister who is traveling abroad to bring investors in India and to make political, business platform stronger for current and future generation. The previous PMs should have done the same thing, but that was completely missing. What can you expect from Manmohan Singh, Deve Gowda, IK Gujral, etc. who were accidental PMs. I have lived in developed countries like the USA, Spain and UK and their PMs and Presidents keep traveling abroad, there is nothing unusual in this, that’s requirement of this profile. There are many national level ministers, ministries, Gov. Departments, 29 state Chief Ministers and then state level departments, what are they doing? Why not they are focusing on development and resolving the local issues. The PM represent the country at international level, and that’s a demand of this post, and Mr. Modi is doing a fantastic job, and the same degree of commitment is expected from future PMs. And if the citizens in India fail to understand this and his vision, it’s very unfortunate. Many state-level bodies have been elected democratically to do development if they can’t do their job they can’t blame PM for every local issue. Not a single corruption scandal has come out in the past 18 months at the central level; the foreign media and journalists are writing positively about India, then why an only particular group of people within India are not happy?The reason is they are becoming insecure from the success of their opposition and are very much living with the fear that what will happen if this gov. keeps doing good work for another ten yrs., maybe they will become obsolete. That’s a reason they are not allowing real bills to be passed in parliament; one example is GST bill. And now they have come up with this new campaign of ‘Intolerance’ because they have nothing more meaningful to talk about and their only work is to keep dividing citizens on the name of religion and caste and keep playing communal card.My request from Indians is that if Narendra Modi is not able to deliver in the next ten yrs., throw his gov. out of power after ten yrs., but at least give him some time to do reforms. India is so vast and diverse that five years won't be enough. He has not given a single statement against any community since he became PM. Instead, he is always talking about universal brotherhood, integrity, and unity. He is a good mix of political-spiritual leader and must be supported, and if wrong, must be pointed too. I will never support his ideologies if he goes in against of any religious community, but at the moment I see him a very liberal and progressive man. He is a leader of India and leader of all faiths who live in India, and he must not be bullied because he belongs to one party. Otherwise, it will be a loss of Indian citizens. If India flourishes all strata of society will be benefited just like when the sun shines everyone enjoys no matter from which faith they come, so please show some trust and don’t judge him through the lens of religion.I was at Wembley Stadium in London on 13th Nov. when Mr. Modi and David Cameron came to give their speech to 60-70 thousand strong Indian community. The entire ambiance was a lifetime experience, and there were people from all faith (Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Jain, Sikh, etc.). Mr. Modi’s speech and his message of unity were exemplary and everyone there was spell bounded. Never before in British History and in Independent India any Indian PM has been respected so much. David Cameron even said few lines in Hindi, ‘Acche Din Aaa gaye hai’ – he was very much right indeed – but I hope Indian voters understand this. Mr. Modi is a global statesman and should be supported by every Indian who thinks beyond the religion and caste and strive for a progressive and global India of the 21st century.After the end of PM speech, one British Security personnel told me that he never knew that India has so many diverse cultures, dance forms, and he is going to download a popular song, ‘Made in India.' Mr. Modi passed Indian message in a very subtle way, and he is excellent in that.Don’t forget that BJP was the party who appointed APJ Abdul Kalam as a President of India, but Congress replaced him with Pratibha Patil - only Congress and its supporters can do such things. Who in the right mind would like to replace a great man like APJ Abdul Kalam with Pratibha Patil?If you are in support of Peace and Prosperity, let Mr. Modi to be a Prime Minister of India for another ten years. Democracy always gives you this freedom to choose - but don’t miss this global statesman and a visionary that India has got after a long gap. Please don’t get distracted by his opponents who are illustrious and influential and well known to divide and rule in the name of caste and religion.In a democracy, the destiny of any nation is decided by its citizens, and they have complete freedom for the decisions they make, let’s see in which direction Indians will take this country.
