PDF Editor FAQ

What is the creepiest thing you have seen a kid draw that actually makes sense?

What's a rule your employer implemented that backfired terribly?

Our Customer Service Call Center decided to “cut time off their calls” by scheduling truck rolls to the customers’ homes so the technicians could address the needs of our customers more effectively. Anytime you shave seconds off a call, that's good. Right?Except the Call Center boss never told her boss, the General Manager or anyone else, including her peer, the VP of Field Services (who oversees the truck rolls.) Oops!Within a month, the Field Service team finds themselves in the hole in the following ways:not enough trucks or staff to cover the number of truck rolls being scheduled;delayed customer response times causing MANY angry customers and a decline in service quality; andin a separate issue, the CFO and the I.T. departments are unable to figure out why we are averaging $50,000 a month in increased expenses. What is going on and where?Nobody could put their finger on any of this for three full months. Daily anxiety was very high for way too long. But three months was just enough time for the CS Center to get proof of their exciting cost saving results!Meanwhile, 15 miles away, the business analysts and I.T. Department are living in fear and mystery over increasing losses (now $150,000). On a daily basis, the GM and his bosses in corporate are demanding to be told what the heck is happening and why? Finally, the Call Center VP has her data. She has “saved” $$$ reducing her team's telephone time by “seconds per call”. Perhaps this will help brighten the days of those trying to figure out the other problems? She has saved money, while they are at a loss to understand the increasing expenses.A meeting was called to get all hands on deck. When they started to compare notes and piece things together, no one was excited for her. It was a rude awakening to all.In the corporate world, this kind of isolated decision- making is called working in a silo. It's very common in the business world, unfortunately. And businesses fail to meet their goals quite frequently because working in silos is a silent way to undermine the success of your team. Has your mom ever planned to cook a special dinner on a night when no one had planned to be at home? Silo-ed behavior is worse than that. And it's expensive.(Meaning: Silos are grain elevators and are a stand-alone structure on a farm. Clearly, businesses are not the same as small teams on a farm. Departments in businesses are interconnected and their financial success depends on dynamic team work!)The Call Center VP was guilty as accused of failing to weigh in with the team regarding her plan,. She revealed a flaw in her lack of financial business savvy. Instead of creating income, she blindly created reoccurring expenses setting the company goals back by hundreds of thousands of dollars...by almost half of the fiscal year by the time they recovered. The team was trying to solve the problem in pockets of subject matter expertise. They cancelled their weekly planning meeting which might have forced the issue sooner. But to her credit, she had never screwed up this badly. AND she had the coolest, wisest, most creative GM in town. So, she wasn't fired, demoted or penalized. She was “featured” at our next quarterly Leadership Retreat. I was their Org Development person, and I will be honest, what they asked her to do made me anxious! We were a company of 2400 employees spread out on six campuses throughout our large county. We held routine Quarterly Leadership Team Offsites for the professional development of our 200 supervisors, managers, directors and their bosses, the VP's (her peers). At the retreat, she was billed as a Keynote Speaker. Up she came to the big stage. I was glad it wasn't me.All 5′4″ of her…no podium to hug, nothing except her bare ass mistake-of-a-story to tell, to admit, to explain financially and to be recognized for screwing things up single-handedly. Off She went: she told the story of an irresponsible leader and weak team member. It was a gripping drama: all true. Her story crashed us to the ground with scary moments; elevated us with clever ideas; and blew our minds with naked truth. It was fun, devastating, mortifying and a huge relief all in the 15 minutes of her keynote.Do you laugh at her or do you cry with her? She did a great job.At the end, our GM walked out to stand in support of her...so proud of her as she apologized to everyone for her HUGE, expensive mistake. She got a laughing-cheering standing ovation. And here's what I learned:True leadership is messy. It's a years of stupid mistakes and great moments as life surprises and humbles you into effectiveness.Team work is the critical application of daily-challenges underscored by consistently inadequate communication, if you can even make yourself understood.P.S. (now it's even harder, as we are now separated by quarantine-silos.)Team work and transformational leadership require heart and collaboration. Both of these with people who can save our butts...if you will just let them do their jobs...and collaborate with them. Their support and engagement with us are key to reaching our many layers of goals. And finally: Things can go horribly wrong. The challenge is to make those things better and right again.

What should you never say to a Hungarian?

This is the number one thing to NOT say to a Hungarian:Random person: So… you’re from Hungary right?Me: YeahRandom person: *smirks* So that means you’re always hungry.Just because I’m from Hungary, doesn’t mean that I’m hungry!Another thing that pisses me off, is when people think that Hungary is located in Asia or South America. It’s in Europe.Another thing: If you meet a girl with the name Tímea, and she prefers to be called Timi (like me), please don’t make fun of her for having a “boyish” name!I hope you’re having a beyond plus ultra day!~Timi

Feedbacks from Our Clients

CocoDoc.com replied my review, my order no. is AG134367178. I purchased the individual Perpetual license (Pro) ,Paid in full on 10/6/20. But every time I use it, it shows the subscription permissions - "buy now" or "continue to try". Continue to try give me all the water marks basically make the license useless. Hope CocoDoc can fix the issue.
