I should preface by saying that the traits of successful CFOs/CEOs will vary by industry and by company size. For example, in the earliest days of a start-up, there probably isn't even a CFO and a great CEO will have innovative/disruptive vision and is comfortable pitching this vision to investors. I'm guessing you mean to ask what the company looks like when it has already achieved some measure of success.Successful CEOs will be visible leaders and typically driven by defining/inventing/improving their products and services. They tend to not be very detail oriented, rather focused on the larger picture. As such they are comfortable delegating details to their employees whom they had a large part in recruiting in the earliest days. They don't care what their facilities cost, that their health insurance premiums are coming up for renewal in August and they'll likely go up by 12%. They are typically very impatient and want everything done yesterday.Successful CFOs keep the lights on. They typically will not be very product focused, other than what impact producing a product might have on their borrowing/capital-raising. They probably won't be dynamic personalities, typically quite reserved and steady. This is the person you want meeting with traditional bankers. They are counting the beans, doing the books, paying the taxes... while the CEO is busy leading the masses growing and harvesting the beans.

They tend to disappear or make the news, specifically in the obituaries!He may delegate details but those who receive that huge authority know the limits of their authority or learn those limits with a 9mm round or a dose of some nasty chemical agent! Sven provided an excellent response.Quite frankly I'm not seeing enough in your question/comment to indicate that you have ADHD. But then again, I'm not qualified to make a diagnosis. That said, the symptoms you mention can very easily be ascribed to, as Sven suggested, too much caffeine or even another disorder. Or it could be ADHD.Of I were you, I'd seek out a doctor and get a diagnosis, only because that's what I did when I suspected I had ADHD and wanted to know for sure.On the basis of that diagnosis, I would then seek out support groups online and local in-person groups to get a sense for now others are dealing with the same issues. What works for one person might not work for another. You'll also find a lot of common ground and get some great ideas for managing your condition. Most importantly (or at least it was for me) you'll find you're not alone and realize you can turn your symptoms around in a way that they enhance your life, rather than detract.I've learned, for example that it's okay that I truly suck at handling minute details of a project or task, and that I'm much better at bigger picture thinking.
