PDF Editor FAQ

What do I do if property management& corporate won't honor leasing agreement? I talked to site management and corporate about 2 parking permits per 2 adults as outlined in the contract. The claim is change in policy but seems this is discriminatory

Unless you are being treated differently it is not discriminatory. It is also irrelevant whether it is discriminatory. You need to review your lease and see what it states about such things. If the company provides itself with an out, then there you go. If it does not and you wish to push the matter, you can sue in court. Most likely small claims court. You would be suing for the value of the parking permit, most likely. It would do you well to bring the lease and any supportive documentation (such as written policies) to a lawyer and ask them to review it. A strongly worded letter from a lawyer might help. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t.

Why doesn't Bangalore demolish 100 acres in Central Bangalore and construct an airport there? We will lose parade ground and cubbon park, but it will be great for Bangalore. Alternately we can utilise the entire palace grounds? What say?

None of the other answers are accurate because they give their personal opinion rather than stating facts. So here is the real account.Short answer : As a city, we badly want the HAL airport, which is at the center of the city, to reopen for domestic operations. Certain obligations are holding us back.Back in 90s, it was decided to construct an airport to match Bangalore’s growing population. And like always, government did not want to invest in the project but wanted the project to happen without it’s financial participation. So, they invited private players to invest their money and build an airport. To make the scheme attractive, certain sacrifices were made. One of those sacrifices was the clause of exclusivity to the company owning and operating the proposed airport. As per the agreement, no airport was allowed to be constructed in the aerial distance of 150 kms of the proposed airport in Devanahalli.I reproduce the related clauses from Article 5 of agreement between the company owning the Devanahalli airport and government of India. (Link to a copy of the agreement is available at the bottom)5.2.1 International No new or existing airport shall be permitted by GoI to be developed as, or improved or upgraded into, an International Airport within an aerial distance of 150 kilometres of the Airport before the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Airport Opening Date.5.2.2 Domestic No new or existing airport (except for Mysore and Hassan airports) shall be permitted by GoI to be developed as, or improved or upgraded into, a Domestic Airport within an aerial distance of 150 kilometres of the Airport before the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Airport Opening DateThe agreement had far reaching impact.Bangalore’s earlier airport (HAL airport) was shutdown in 2008 when Devanahalli airport opened. This was done against wishes of HAL but government had to be perform as per its obligations in the agreement.150 kms is measured aerially as per the agreement. Therefor it covers a very large area. Since the agreement was executed by the Government of India, the exclusion zone includes areas of neighboring states that fall with in the 150 km zone.Since the government had promised the no airport would be opened with in the exclusion zone, I don’t think government can backtrack its obligation. Any attempt to do so will result in international arbitration and will dent image of the country . However, I feel there might an opportunity to reopen HAL airport which is in the center of the city by paying some monies to the Devanahalli airport to have this exclusivity clause waived off. I don’t think that the government would take that route because the investment might not translate in to electoral votes.Quite often promises are made by election bound politicians that HAL might reopen or some airport at a convenient location in a neighboring state might open. But, my opinion is that its possible only if Devanahalli airport issues an NOC which under ordinary circumstances is not possible.Think twice before you ink an agreement. Two or three sentences in a 100 page agreement can easily cause misery to millions.2032 is when this clause expires. I hope there is no other agreement with some other private airport that restricts reopening of HAL airport. The consolation prize is that exclusivity was not signed for 99 years.Approximate calculation of exclusion zone :Link to the original agreement between Bangalore airport and Government of India :https://www.civilaviation.gov.in/sites/default/files/moca_000743.pdfCubbon Park, High Court and the surrounding areas are jewels of Bangalore. Its might be immature to even imagine an airport in their place.

Although it was verbally promised, I have not gotten paid by the startup I've been working for in CA for the last 6 months. What are my options? Is there any legal recourse?

Start a paper trail. When did you start? Did you have an offer of employment? What was your payment to be? If you have any "welcome" emails, or any indirect proof of employment, such as a work email issued, send your first emails on that system to your personal email as proof of employment. Any parking permits, bus passes, or anything else that could be used to indicate a pattern of being in that area during working hours would help.Once you have all the proof anyone would need to prove you had a start date there, then start pushing the issue in writing. Email your boss and indicate that you've not been paid as per the agreement. Ask whether the payment terms have changed, or whether you can get payment, backdated to start date. By the way, what start date do you have on record, so I can be sure it matches mine? When you have sent a few emails that give an indication of the answer (implied you'll never be paid, given the tone of your question), decide what you want. Would you rather work for free, or get a portion of payment and lose your job? Rarely can a current employee sue their current employer and end up happily keeping their job.If they tell you you have to work for free and you'll never get paid, and you want to get revenge, go to the top boss and let him know you've been illegally working for free, and you'll be filing a federal civil rights case, along with the employment grievance if they don't back-pay you to the start date at the agreed rate, as well as a 3 month severance. They'll laugh at you, and kick you out. Then walk out, and file both cases. Slavery is illegal, unpaid intern is the same thing, but perfectly legal. Though it sounds like they wouldn't have done the paperwork to make any of what they are doing legal. A wage claim with DLSE (as per Dana H. Shultz 's answer), and look into a civil rights case with a lawyer that handles things like that. You can file local with CA Complaint Process , or contact the FBI to report a federal violation.
