Any sports team is always held accountable for its performances. And the fans have a big say. It’s not a democratic process, nor should it be. But failures invite criticism (from fans and pundits) and that places pressure on the players to perform better. The Board, meanwhile, also wants success and the only way to achieve that is by winning and doing better.
