PDF Editor FAQ

What is your overall opinion on NYU?

NYU had been my dream school for as long as I could remember.I remember visiting New York as a young child and watching all of the NYU students at Washington square park. When I got my acceptance letter, I was ecstatic. Then, I was paranoid- what if it had been a mistake? Had they accidentally sent acceptances to everyone who applied? After I was reassured that it was not, in fact, a mistake, I was fully rejoicing. This was crushed when I received the news that I was not eligible for financial aid. You see, NYU costs $60,000 per year. Their financial aid is known for being very… minimal. My parents said that they would be able to afford the school by taking out loans. When I arrived in New York in August of 2014, I couldn't wait to take on the world.Fast forward to December of 2014, when I packed my bags and left my dorm at NYU for the last time, after completing one semester. I had been in the liberal studied program. The classes I took were substantially easier than high school classes and did not take attendance. Students were very independent and not interested in making friends, in my experience. The school was vast and impressive but deeply lonely. I was an undergraduate, unsure of what I wanted to study, and NYU did not help me figure that out. Realizing that my dream school was not what I thought sent me into a depression. I felt like I had failed, and the worst part was that my semester cost my parents $30,000 that became due immediately upon my withdrawal from the school.I can honestly say that I did not do enough research on whether NYU was truly right for me. I personally do not think paying $240,000 for an undergraduate degree is worth it. If you are studying bysiness (Stern) or arts, (Tisch) NYU may be a great fit for you.If you are undecided on your major or plan to pursue a subject that will require you to go to graduate school, I do not recommend NYU unless money is not an issue for you.

I'm applying to NYU Tisch--I have a 4.0 at Texas State University, an 1800 SAT score, and decent recommendation letters. What are my chances?

It largely depends on two more factors:1) To which department are you applying? (Dramatic Writing, Photography, etc. accept around 30 students a year. Film & TV is around 250. And with every department, undergrad is generally easier to get into than grad programs.)2) The quality of your artistic work with which you are applying. (It doesn't need to be revelatory by any means, but it needs to demonstrate that you at least have an average understanding of your proposed craft, and that you show potential of possessing a unique voice to offer to the medium.)Hope this helps. Good luck!

Are IB HL Chem, Math AI and History too hard (SL French, English Lit. and Physics) (skills: writing, speaking, memorization) (want to pursue a career in the sciences)?

Let me answer it this way. Both my sons were Full IB students. My oldest was interviewed at Purdue and his interviewer told him that he shouldn’t have applied because his grades were not good enough. 2 weeks after we arrived home from our trip visiting colleges, he received the “thick” admittance packet from Purdue. Obviously the interviewer did not know what a IB diploma was. My son tore up his acceptance letter and said he would never attend Purdue. He also interviewed at the University of Michigan. We met with the Asst Dean of Engineering and asked him what percentage of Michigan students who applied for engineering were admitted. It was 14%. then we asked him about out of state students since we were from out of state. It was about 5%. He got in and that is where he went.He graduated with a dual degree in mechanical engineering from the engineering department and industrial design from the fine arts department. Now U of M has a formal dual degree program that is patterned on the courses that my son took, he helped them design the class sequencing for the dual degree. It teaches the students how to create products that are well engineered but also ergonomic and stylish. My youngest son was also full IB. He wanted to go to NYU film school, He sent in his application and several weeks later we got a phone call that he should apply to be a Tisch Scholar. We told the person that he was not even admitted and the person told us that she could not say anything, but that they were going to send a form so he could apply. So he did.He was admitted and as a freshman, he got a free trip to Russia as part of the Tisch scholar program. His senior animation film project won first place at the 1999 student Academy Awards and he got a free trip to Hollywood for the presentation. So take all the IB courses you can.

Feedbacks from Our Clients

I switched from the Samsung Galaxy S20 to the iPhone 12 Pro Max and as part of the Android to iOS transition, I had only one option - Apple's Move to iOS app. The app sucked and kept crashing and didn't allow me to move my text messages and didn't even have WhatsApp as an option. Looking up online I saw CocoDoc and their bundle offer which had all phone data + WhatsApp. I bought it and used it to transfer all my data and to my knowledge got 100% data on my iPhone. At first I was skeptical given it's a paid software but I had heard of CocoDoc before so gave it a shot given their money back guarantee and boy am I glad that I did. 100% recommend. Note: it does require you to perform some steps on your phone so in a way it's about 95% automated but the steps are simple and it's worth it
