PDF Editor FAQ

Do Polish Catholics have a favorable view of John Paul II?

Absolutely, and this extends to non-Catholics too. The are various reasons for this. One is already mentioned by Luboš, but there is one more, namely John Paul II had a very adorable personality of an archetypal good grandpa with a great sense of humour, who likes the nature (John Paul II was a keen hiker in his youth), enjoys sports (skiing, football, kayaking), etc.In short: he was extremely likeable. This story about going for cream puffs in high school only cemented that view and he is mostly remembered for that, not for his teaching, sadly:

What is the best Catholic college in Poland?

There are no typical colleges in Poland. I explained it here: Norbert Szczęch's answer to Is college free in Poland? The Polish equivalent of college as an institution of further education is a high school. There are hundreds of Catholic high schools in Poland[1]. They are known to provide excellent level of education. Their students are on top of every rankings. There aren't any Polish equivalents of college as an institution of higher education being a part of university. Upon graduating of high school you can go to the university or higher school and obtain a professional degree of licentiate or engineer. Then you can complete 2 years’ master’s studies. As an alternative you can complete 5-6 years’ continuous master’s studies. Catholic universities are as follows:The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin[2]The Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw[3]The Pontifical University of John Paul II in Cracow[4]Those institutions provide mass education for thousands of students (the KUL has ca 12 000 students, the UKSW the same, the UP ca 4 000). The level of education is rather mediocre and not so traditional. It’s however still way more traditional and Catholic than that of western catholic universities which are sometimes catholic only by name. There is also the newest, smallest, most patriotic, conservative and traditional Catholic academic institution in Poland. It is also the only one that actually goes by the name of college:The College of Social and Media Culture in Toruń[5]They have excellent infrastructure and conditions for students[6]. There is however the stigma attached to this college by the mainstream media.|Lucky|Footnotes[1] Katolickie szkoły wygrywają wszelkie rankingi[2] John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin - Wikipedia[3] https://uksw.edu.pl/en/[4] The Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow[5] Welcome | WSKSiM[6] Accommodation | WSKSiM

As a teacher, what’s the most entitled behavior you’ve seen from a student?

Not a student, but a parent on behalf of her student.I taught religion at a Catholic School. One of my students missed our senior service project because her parents had bought tickets to a basketball tournament in a nearby city. I had gotten pre-approval from my department chair and my principal for a written assignment to substitute for that all day service project. It involved reading a recent pastoral letter by Pope John Paul II and writing a research and reflection paper related to it. The paper was to be 8–10 pages long, and had a deadline 3 weeks away, following Christmas break. The day after I gave the assignment to her and two other students who had missed the service project (one with a broken leg and one who was 8 months pregnant), her mother appeared at my door during the school day demanding to speak to me. She berated me for my unreasonable assignment, for my unwillingness to excuse her child's absence from the project, and questioned my professional competence. I responded that the assignment was going to stand, as it had been pre-approved by my department chair and the principal, and that it would be up to her and her daughter to decide whether she would complete the assignment or fail my mandatory-for-graduation class. She broke down in tears and screamed at me about what an evil man I was and how she would get me for persecuting her and her daughter. About 30 minutes later, my principal appeared at my door and told me that I would have to reduce the assignment because the mother was the president of our school board and the family gave a great deal of money to the school. I did, quite miffed at the spinelessness of my principal, and gave a similar reduction in the assignment to the two students with legitimate medical excuses. And true to her word, the mother did manage to get me fired at the end of that school year. It may have been the best thing that ever happened to me professionally.

Feedbacks from Our Clients

I run a busy professional practice which requires the signing of documents related to data processing and consent forms etc. Prior to discovering CocoDoc, these documents were sent to service-users by mail or E mail. I can't believe how much easier this process has been made. In addition to getting the job done in an environmentally-friendly way, the website is user-friendly with lots of useful features. A great feature is notification of a form having been signed. Highly recommended!
