PDF Editor FAQ

How can I maximise my output on JEE day?

When you arrive at the examination hall, the important thing is to develop a good mental frame of mind for the exam.Sit down and relax for a few moments. Don't think about anything. Just get comfortable in your seat and position. Don't engage in conversation with anyone at the hall, even if you spot someone you know. Now close your eyes, and mentally run through the list of chapters in all three subjects. Just the names of the chapters. Do not, I repeat, do not think about specific formulae or topics within chapters. This will help you achieve clarity and equilibrium with the syllabus. If you have omitted some chapters during your preparation, do not list them. Name only those topics with which you are familiar. Here they are for ready reference :Physics : Vectors, 1D Kinematics, 2D Motion, Dynamics, Energy & Momentum, Rotation, Gravitation, Solids, Liquids, Thermal Properties of Matter, Thermodynamics, SHM, Waves, Electrostatics, DC Circuits, Capacitors, Electricity & Magnetism, Magnetic Properties of Matter, Electromagnetic Induction, AC Circuits, EM Waves, Ray Optics, Wave Optics, Modern Physics (includes Atoms, Nuclei, Wave Properties of Matter), Semiconductors, CommunicationsChemistry : Stoichiometry, Structure of Atoms, Periodic Table, Chemical Bonding, States of Matter, Thermochemistry & Chemical Thermodynamics, Chemical Equilibrium, Ionic Equilibrium, s-block, Hydrogen, p-block, Redox reactions, Introduction to Organic Chemistry, Hydrocarbons, Environmental Chemistry, Solid State, Solutions, Chemical Kinetics, Electrochemistry, Surface Chemistry, Metallurgy, p-block, d & f-block, coordination compounds, haloalkanes, alcohols, carbonyl compounds, amines, biomolecules, polymers, chemistry in everyday lifeMathematics : Set theory, relations and functions - 1, trigonometry, mathematical induction, complex numbers and quadratic equations, linear inequalities, permutations and combinations, binomial theorem, sequences and series, straight lines, mathematical reasoning, statistics, probability-1, limits and derivatives, relations and functions - 2, inverse trigonometry, continuity and differentiability, applications of derivatives, indefinite integration, definite integration, differential equations, vectors, 3D geometry, matrices and determinants, linear programming, probability - 2, conic sections - circles, parabola, ellipse, hyperbolaStay calm and relaxed until the paper begins. Close your eyes and relax. Or you could look at the nature outside, with birds chirping and all, as it is very soothing.Fill out your roll number and other information carefully, without making any mistake. Read the instructions and the marking scheme slowly and carefully.Always attempt your strong subjects first. This is because you can plan to finish them quickly and devote more time to your relatively weaker subject. Many people will advise you the opposite, but leaving lesser time at the end for your strong subjects is a bad idea. Time pressure can cause you to fumble even at easy questions, and I can state from personal experience that it hurts more to have left a question that could be solved easily than one that couldn't have been solved easily. Ideal time distribution should be Chemistry 35 mins, Physics 50 mins and Maths 80 mins. Leave 15 minutes at the end for reviewing some selected unsolved questions. At the start of the paper, everyone is nervous and will solve questions very slowly. Use this to your advantage and maintain a decent speed from the first minute itself. This will help you gain an edge. It doesn't matter if you're unable to solve the first question, the first two questions or even the first ten questions. Just try not to worry too much about it and have confidence in your preparation. Maintain your speed and soon the answers will start flowing.Always darken the bubble on the answer sheet as soon as you solve the question. At least, solve questions separately only upto 2 hours and then mark all bubbles upto it. Then start marking bubbles immediately as you solve the question. The reason is that if you leave bubble marking at the very end, you may mark the wrong bubbles in your nervousness. If this happens for a consecutive chain of questions, then you will have lost a large amount of marks needlessly. This will further lower your morale. After you submit the paper, do not discuss it with anyone. If it turns out that you made some mistakes, it may cause a dent in your confidence at this critical time, thus affecting your performance in the upcoming exams.Ultimately, the most important thing is to stay cool and calm, and treat it like any other exam. All the best!!

How was BITSAT 2017?

After reading other people answers here i thought i would try to write maximum questions for helping students and now i am writing for the same .Edit : Some people are questioning if the facts provided here are genuine or not and why would i do this to help others and increase competition. Firstly why would not someone want to help fellow students, just look at the comments!I gave my paper on 19 May 2017 ( 2nd slot ) . I tried to do all questions as fast as possible and i completed my paper in 2 hours . Then i wrote as many questions as i can for telling here .Physics :In SHM at position of maximum displacement what is minimum( options were velocity , K.E. , acceleration )Velocity of an object with respect to itself in mirrorWhich of the following has highest elasticity ? If you have any other doubts comment down below , hope my answer could help you in some way in your exams . Just go there and do question fastly , do not waste time!!Finally my score was 374 , I lost marks in english because i did not know any antonym synonym type questions i marked randomly in those . There were 2–3 questions in maths whose answers was also not matching with any choice . My marks in mains were 256 .Now i have to go to study for advanced wish me luck for it :) .Edit 1 : Chemistry is updated now . Regarding my memory power , no i did not remember every question i wrote them behind my admit card as i know they take rough pad ;) . My whole admit card was filled and no space was left so i could not go for english ( sorry for that )Edit 2 : I did not write maths but i will try to remember some questions .Integration of [math]logx[/math] ( ans [math]xlogx -x[/math] )Two points of triangle given , centroid given , find other pointA equation in complex number was given modulus was asked ,, I put i (square root -1 ) in it and it satisfiedTangent of a parabola was given like [math]y=2x +c[/math] , c was asked ( use information of slope )In probability questions on dices was asked one was out of four dice one is heads on both side , now we toss a coin four time it show always what i probability it was bad coin ?Another question of probability which came in my bonus was very easy , probability of less than 5 was asked given number is oddIn P&C a question was asked which had two bags 5 balls in each no. of ways to choose 6 balls if we have to choose atleast two from bothA good hyperbola question was asked . From centre asymptotes were made , then make any tangent on hyperbola let it cut them on P and Q , OP*OQ was asked where O is centre in terms of a and b ( options were [math]a^2 + b^2[/math] , [math]a^2-b^2[/math] etc )A determinant question was asked where answer was zero .A quadratic question was asked where roots was given and a relation between roots was asked in terms of a , b and c ( it was easy just sum and product formula )A simple linear differential equation question , divide by x and it becomes LDE just solve it .Another differential equation question , easier than previous one , just shift x and y and you get answer .A circle with centre at origin and radius 2 was given , find equation of chord of contact from [math](4,0)[/math]A trigonometry equation was given , just change [math]cos^2[/math] into [math]sin^2[/math] and it becomes a quadratic in sin , solution was asked in [math][0,2pi][/math]A very good question was asked in height and distance , i could not solve it but i eliminated two options . It was something like a point A was given and B was given elevation of both were 30 and 60 to a tower but A and B was not on a line B was some distance ahead and above of A .. Height of tower was asked . As i had eliminated two options i marked randomly rather than solving and wasting time on it .In bonus questions a function was given as [math]f(x^2) = x^5[/math] , find derviative at x=4A simple Limits question which could be solved by applying L hospital two times or series expansion[math]\int_{-2}^{2}[1-x^2][/math]A simple question on algebra . Basic concept of Modulus of a fuctionDifferentiation of [math](sin\theta +cos\theta )/(sin\theta -cos\theta )[/math]A problem involving concept of products of slope = -1 for perpendicular linesA question of 3D in which equation of a plane was asked and a point on it was given a line perpendicular to it was also givenA good question on area in which area between a parabola its tangent at a point and x axis was askedA question on AM>GM was also asked the question was to find minimum value of (a+b)/c + (b+c)/a + (c+a/b) , first it looked unsolvable to me but then it striked to me that whenever we can not find max min by differentiating or by traditional methods go for AM >GM .. after splitting terms we can easily reach answer .Value of sin15 degree was askedFinally feel free to ask any other doubts in comments i will try to update here as i can not comment and No , i did no solve any mock tests before bitsat . I have stopped studying after mains .Update : No questions from Metallurgy were there in my slot . I did not use any special pen , simple black ball point pen and admit card .

What are some golden tips you can give to a JEE 2018 aspirant?

Well here are some of the golden tips that even our Sirs at allen told us to follow.Study in the morning- setting up your bio-clock to study in the morning is the best thing you can do.No sleeping b/w 7am to 5pm- dont sleep b/w this period as it ruins your bio-clock for Advanced.Study in 3 hour slots- study in 3 hour slots to maximize your efforts in a 3 hour long exam.Don't run after books- if you are in a reputed Coaching institute just follow thier material. If you run out, instead of buying new books repeat the ones you have done. Repetition is necessary for perfection.Sleep enough- your sleep should be such that the amount does not ruin the period when you study. It can be anywhere from 4 hours to 8 hours.(i used to sleep 7 hours)Homework is soul- homework is the soul of this preparation (if you are in a coaching institutes)Review homework- after doing homework and it being discussed. It is important to review your doubts again and mark them. Homework without review is nothing.Proper diet and health- many think IIT is just a test of knowledge and IQ. It is much more, it checks your management skill, health as well. So its important to maintain good health to be at your optimum level. No shying- dont be shy to ask doubts. The first step to be an engineer is being “besharam”.Be organized as well as flexible- your time table of studying should be fixed. However in that period how much time is given to an individual subject is decided by you. Some important tips when you're at the end of your preparation (1 month before mains and the time b/w mains and Advanced)1.short notes- short notes is the soul of final preparation.you should make short notes only in this period. These should be revised everyday in the final days.2.equal time to each subject- many people are there who ignore chemistry from the start and give it less importance( i am also one of those). This is the ideal time to give chemistry as much time as maths and physics. In the final 3–5 days you should prefer chemistry over everything else.3. Review of mock papers- Mock papers attempted should be properly reviewed.4.exam temperament- this is the time when along with academics ,you should try to perfect your exam temperament by giving extra importance to mock tests. Mistakes should be reduced.(this plays the biggest role along with health and bio-clock on d-day whether you give up to your full potential or not). Learn to guess what the examiner is trying to ask in even wrong questions( helps a lot in mains)5. No new content - in this period it is very important to not do new questions or concepts(except mock tests). Your aim in this period should be to consolidate whatever has been taught i.e redoing sheets, reading theory and short notes. New content is a absolute NO!Hope this helps, will add more relevant points once i remember.Thank you
