How was it like to attend the Quora Mumbai Meet up held on 19th February, 2017?

Every addition to true knowledge is an addition to human power.- Horace Mann.Introduction:This was our third unofficial Mumbai Quora meetup held at 91 SpringBoard cafeteria, Ackruti Trade Centre, Andheri. Under the guidance and leadership of Hanif Shaikh and Justin William, our Mumbai Quora Unofficial Meetup organising Committee (MQUMOC or OC hereafter) members (Shrinivas S, Sandesh Deshpande, Dushyant Arora, Aabha Singh, Virendra Yadav, Nimisha Pawar, Adv Saif Mobhani , Dhwani Lodaya, Siddhant Dhiman, Ajay Parthasarathy, Aakash Khatri, and Shreshtha Sarkar) were working from the last two months to make this event happen. Right from adding the question on Quora for the meetup, to adding the members to our WhatsApp group, managing the group, visiting the venue, making several plans to make this day a memorable one, ordering the snacks, to the arriving early at the venue on the D day and setting up cameras, managing the crowd and keeping them engaged, entertained and ensuring that we learn something new and leave with great memories, a huge task was in front of us.19/02/2017The day finally arrived, the cameras were set, the crowd was excited, and everybody was right on time. The pre-decided topics of discussions were:Growth Hacking by Hanif Shaikh, Ajay Parthasarathy, and Aakash Khatri;Demonetization by Sanjay Dwivedi, Shrinivas S, and Palkesh Asawa (पल्केश असावा);Science in everyday life by Virendra Yadav, Aabha Singh, and Ravi Tiwari;Personal Finance Management By Gaurang Bhatt (ગૌરાંગ ભટ્ટ), Shrinivas S, and Palkesh Asawa (पल्केश असावा); andLife experience by Bhanupriya Jayaraj and Manohar Batra.Topic 1: Growth HackingGrowth hacking in Indian language is jugaad.-Hanif ShaikhGrowth hacking is basically a set of conventional and unconventional ways of marketing experiments that lead to growth of business.Hanif, Ajay, and Akash explained us how growth hacking is important and how simple ways of marketing can give us big returns. They shared their experiences on how growth hacking or ‘Strategic Marketing’ helped them to grow only with word-of-mouth publicity without investing money for marketing.Topic 2: DemonetizationAs far as demonetization is concerned, everybody will agree that the government is changing their goalpost. Initially it was corruption, and later on it became terrorism, and now it is cashless society, and from last month, if you read some news, you will realize that even the cashless society is abandoned now.- Mr. Sanjay DwivediPalkesh, Sanjay sir and Shrini shared their views on demonetization. While Mr Dwivedi focused more on how demonetization affected the common people, Shri presented his insights about how demonetization will affect the economy going forward.Palkesh explained us what demonetization is actually is and what are the positive lookouts and presented a detailed analysis of the subject in his own unique way.The session actually cleared many questions and misconceptions about the term demonetization and gave us a totally different view about it.Topic 3: Science in Everyday LifeScience is repeated, independent, and verifiable observations within certain degree of accuracy- Virendra YadavVirendra, Aabha, and Ravi gave a great talk on how one can understand science in everyday life and how we don’t have to be a scientist or a geek to understand science.Ravi Tiwari’s explanation about how Einstein, from simple observations and analysis, was able to derive an equation which was one of the greatest addition in the world of science and physics. This session was a perfect blend of minimalism and brilliance.Aabha gave an insight of Geology. I am sure everybody agrees that “Geology is real science” :P . To summarize, these guys explained us how simple things are if we understand science and how simple science is if we understand nature and our surroundings.Topic 4: Personal FinanceIt was a great session from Gaurang Bhatt, Shri, and Palkesh on Personal finance and finance management. Here we learned about how to start managing finance from initial stage and how small savings can give us big returns someday.Topic 5: LifeBhanupriya, the real hero of this meetup, is the strongest person that I have met in my life. She is a three times cancer survivor. Her speech was motivating and gave us a different perspective towards life. She encouraged the crowd about how not to lose hope even if you are going through the worst possible phase in life, because that too shall pass and a day will come where everything will be perfect again. You just have to be strong and hang in there. Our pain and problems are definitely nothing in front of hers. She is strong, she is a fighter. She defeated those problems. She said that even in worst conditions, if your loved ones are with you, nothing can ever go bad.Bhanupriya shared a lot of things with us in open session and I am sure she inspired us all in a very different way. All hail our one eyed pirate. On the other hand, Manohar Batra shared some of his weird and awkward life incidences and showed us how life can be funny if we just change our perspective. He showed us that life is beautiful and we should enjoy every moment of it, in his own humorous way. We had a good laugh and the panelist session ended on a lighter note.Open Session:After we were done with the panelists and their session, we decide to keep an open session.People were interacting with each other in the open session. They were personally going to each Quoran they follow, were taking selfies, and asking questions, suggestions, opinions etc....Groups of people with common interests were formed. Panelists were surrounded by Quorans to know more about the topics that were discussed earlier.Foosball, table tennis, and free coffee were cherry on top. After a lot of photo sessions and individual discussions, everybody left the venue by 8:30 pm, and later the OC cleaned the place. They distributed the remaining snacks to the people around and concluded the event.Thank you :)(Feel free to suggest edits)

Who is the best team player in cricket?

Meet Graeme Smith.South Africa were touring Australia in a hard fought series in 2009, and the victor would get the No.1 spot in Tests. After two sensational matches, South Africa were leading the series 2-0. They only had to draw the final test to become Number 1 in Tests.Australia played both innings well and gave South Africa a target of 376 in 4 sessions. South Africa responded sedately and made 62/1 at stumps on Day 4. A quick look at the scorecard and you would see something odd in the second innings.Morne Morkel had opened the second innings for South Africa. The reason being Graeme Smith was injured - badly. Two rearing bouncers from Mitchell Johnson had injured his right elbow, and broken his left hand. Graeme Smith had remarked that it was nearly impossible to brush his teeth since he couldn't hold his toothbrush steady. Read that again. He couldn't hold his toothbrush steady.Australia started well. Bollinger began the last day by prising out Neil Mckenzie. Nathan Hauritz came back to get Hashim Amla and the little-known Andrew McDonald sent Jacques Kallis back cheaply. South Africa were 4 down at lunch. AB De Villiers and J P Duminy braved Australia for close to 30 overs, but they were both dismissed within 10 overs of each other along with Mark Boucher. Australia needed 3 wickets to win with 26 overs in hand. Graeme Smith watched from the dressing room, one hand heavily strapped. The final session began with Paul Harris trapped in front by Siddle. Dale Steyn and Makhaya Ntini blocked for 17 overs, before Siddle struck again and removed Steyn. There were still 8.2 overs left, South Africa were 9 down, and Graeme Smith could barely hold a toothbrush straight. Australian captain Ricky Ponting looked at the umpires to confirm if the game was over. Then the announcement came over the stands : Graeme Smith was coming out to bat.(The commentary from 0:24 is the best)Let's soak this in. The man couldn't hold a toothbrush in one hand. And he was walking down to bat against Johnson, Siddle and Bollinger. He had to practically hold the bat with only three fingers and a thumb, with the left hand acting as a support. He had to bat 8.2 overs with Makhaya Ntini against the man who had broken his left hand, and nearly his right hand too. Johnson bowled, Smith defended, took his left hand off the bat at the last moment and grimaced. The crowd applauded. It was heart-wrenching. The pitch was cracking up, but Smith had guts. It was said that the Australians truly hate the cricketers who remind them of themselves. It was true in the case of Graeme Smith. But luck was not on his side. With a mere 10 balls left in the match, Mitchell Johnson pitched the ball on a crack and sneaked it through to hit Smith's stumps. Australia had won. They had been the better team over the 5 days of play. They were Number 1 in Tests. But Graeme Smith had done more. He had transcended from mortal to legend. If you're interested in reading some of my other answers in Cricket, check them out here : The Gentleman's Catalogue

Having partially evaluated the Mobile Go product the free evaluation period ran out in 5 days. This is not sufficient time to perform a full evaluation. Similar products have not worked with my Samsung Android phone. I was concerned that this may be the case with Mobile Go. CocoDoc's link to their help forum does not work. Attempts to set up a query to their help desk also does not work. A field in the help desk query set up process requires entry of the relevant product. No entries are accepted in this field. This is true of both Google Chrome and Opera browsers. I'm reluctant to risk buying this product given the lack of access to support.
