Realized this Black Friday, here it goes r(long explanation ahead).If you ever stayed in US(or any link to US), you will mostly know about various doorbuster offers many shopping chains like walmart, macys, kohls, jcpenny gives at the time of Black Friday. They are basically highly discounted in store offers for which you have to wait in the queue, and once store opens you can get it on first come first serve basis.I was in jcpenny queue as they were giving $10-$500 coupons additional to doorbusters offers like $5 for Air Fryer, $8 for griddle/slow cooker, etc after huge mail in rebates ($20 for Air Fryer, $20 for cooker etc).e.g. Mail in rebates for an Air Fryer means first you have to buy it after paying full $25 and then send a form with product barcode to get your $20 back as a prepaid card.So basically you can get Air fryer + griddle for $5 +$8 — $10 coupon = $3. Pretty Awesome deal you will say right.Well unfortunately no and here is the catch.There is a small line in terms and conditions on rebate form which says mail in rebate is not applicable with any other coupon. Still doesn't sound that bad, well dirty tactics is how they apply the $10 coupon while billing.Let me explain with my example:I bought 5 items, total was $40 + $25 + $22 + $40 +$15 out of which first 4 had mail in rebate worth $74. While billing they cleverly distributed the $10 coupon among first 4 items and no discount on last item. So basically I got $10 discount but lost $74 and unfortunately most of the shoppers fell for these as no one will explain you that. After shopping people will do extra hard work + add few $ in filling and mailing the rebate forms.And they will just keep on waiting but will never get any money back.Fortunately one of my friend told me it might happen and then I read terms and conditions section & found out about this, confirmed from customer care, returned all such items and told all of my friends about this.From next time I(and everyone reading this answer) will know how to use those couponsWaiting for next Black Friday ;P
