Make the questions specific, not general. i.e., “If you could offer me one tip to enhance my presentation today, what would it be?”, Rather than, “what did you think of today’s presentation?”Ask a friend: you need someone who will be honest with you, but also kind. Ask them for one tip, not ten. You can always ask them again next week or next month.Decide and focus: all this feedback will be of no value unless you act on it. Hi, thanks for the A2A. The interview process depends on your current position and experience.I can share my experience of interview which was held in an off campus drive in Bangalore. The interview process might have changed in an year. It is 4–5 hour long process and result is declared the same day usually. This interview process is for freshers :FIRST ROUND - A computer based test to test your quantitative and analytical skills. It consists of verbal, quant and logical reasoning.SECOND ROUND - This round is a case discussion round plus personal presentation round. A group of 10 people are given a case to have a group discussion and come to a conclusion. This tests your team work and managerial ethics as to what kind of decisions you take as a lead or a team member when given a company’s case.The next thing is to present the case on a white board. You can use the white board and your presenting skills to make a good impact and steal the show. This is an individual activity to test your confidence, presentation skills and analytical skills.THIRD ROUND - This is a personal interview round which is both HR and Technical. The questions asked to me were -Tell me something about yourself (drove the whole conversation with counter questions)What are your career goals and aspirations? (The best opportunity to share your aspirations and dreams and why you want to be in Deloitte)Technical round - I was asked what languages I am comfortable with. I named a few with SQL being one and I was asked detailed level questions on SQL. Situations were given and modified to form complex queries and extract data. It went well as I was confident about it.Advice - Even if you don’t know something, be frank and show them the curiosity that you want to know it and surely get back to them with the answer. If you have that will to learn things, it actually works!I was also asked a few moderate level puzzles. I did reach somewhere in the middle but could not reach out to an answer. But going in the right direction , and having good logical skills worked for me.We had a very healthy conversation regarding the new technologies The interviewer handed over my evaluation sheet to the HR and I overheard him saying ‘ She is too good’. I was on cloud nine :)FOURTH ROUND - This round is called the Versant round which is telephonic and tests your basic English and your understanding of different accents. You have to repeat what you understood. This is quite easy and the final round. Yippee! You have made it through!The interview process for experienced folks would include Core Technical rounds.Tech Round 1 - Basic Technical questions on your skill set and experience (by Senior level)Tech Round 2- Detailed Technical questions on your skill (by Manager)Round 3- Senior Manager round (It is to grill you, be confident!) and the Versant round.Hope it helps! IES/ESE Mains is a subjective exam that tests the aspirant not only for knowledge, but also tests you as to how efficiently you are able to express your knowledge in a form which is understood not only to you but to others as well. So, basically, it tests your presentation skills along with your knowledge. That is why IES aspirants with same or higher knowledge but poor way of presentation may end up scoring less marks.All the tips and tricks you will come across from anywhere can boost up your marks only if you are good at your subjects and hold the knowledge of their concepts really well.Mark those questions that you will attempt and will fetch you maximum marks.Try to attempt as much as possible even if you don’t know the exact correct solutions of some of the questions.Read questions properly and answer relevant stuff required.Giving a proper structure to the answer will definitely fetch you one or two extra mark here and there in some questions.A notable point wise answer will absolutely earn you more marks than a long piece of writing.Where ever possible emphasize your answer by drawing a diagram or a flow chart.Use simple and plain language instead of using complex terms.Give headings and underline important points in the answer.ESE Mains test series of MadeEasy helped me a lot in my answer writing practice because the evaluated answer sheets used to have detailed comments about my handwriting, how I need to underline important parts in the answers, what all questions should be answered, how to judiciously use my time to give required attention to all the questions etc.
