They will beat the Heck out of your wheel bearings, ball joints, etc. due to the massive gain in unsprung weight. They will negatively impact the handling of a vehicle. You will suffer more punctures due to rubber band-thick tires, and they are very expensive, and VERY few tire shops stock them, and very few tire shops can even install them. They are also very difficult to balance, so travel at speeds over 55 MPH may be quite unpleasant. Lastly, the wheels bend rather easily. They are okay for a show truck or car, but for something you plan on driving, stick to 20's or smaller. Take it from a tire guy who's seen PLENTY of big-wheel headaches! Mark W.

Richard Marcinko tells a great story about SEAL Team 6.An Admiral at the Pentagon did not like the relaxed grooming standards enjoyed by SEALs. He told Marcinko he was coming down for a personal inspection.Marcinko directed his men to wear their dress uniforms with medals.Mike Thornton was the first man in line. He was wearing the Medal of Honor.At that time, Thornton was a Petty Officer. Years later, he retired as a Lieutenant.As soon as he entered, the O-8 saw Thornton. The Admiral saluted the Petty Officer.Flag Officers are smart. He knew immediately he had been set up. He called Marcinko aside and said: You are one clever SOB!The Admiral returned to the Pentagon. The patrol called in naval gunfire support and then engaged the enemy in a fierce firefight, accounting for many enemy casualties before moving back to the waterline to prevent encirclement.Upon learning that the Senior Advisor had been hit by enemy fire and was believed to be dead, Petty Officer Thornton returned through a hail of fire to the lieutenant's last position. He quickly disposed of 2 enemy soldiers about to overrun the position, and succeeded in removing the seriously wounded and unconscious Senior Naval Advisor to the water's edge.He then inflated the lieutenant's lifejacket and towed him seaward for approximately 2 hours until picked up by support craft. By his extraordinary courage and perseverance, Petty Officer Thornton was directly responsible for saving the life of his superior officer and enabling the safe extraction of all patrol members, thereby upholding the highest traditions of the U.S. Naval Service.Addenda1 of 5The man saved by Thornton was Navy SEAL Thomas Norris. Norris also received the Medal of Honor — for a completely different mission.He rescued Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Iceal Hambleton and First Lieutenant Mark Clark from deep behind enemy lines.Norris and his SEALs engaged in cat-and-mouse maneuvers with a much larger NVA force. These rescues were later made famous by a book and film.2 of 5Colonel Hambleton had Top Secret knowledge of ICBMs and the Single Integrated Operational Plan (SIOP). His previous assignment was DCO of the 390th Strategic Missile Wing in SAC.His EB-66 was shot down while escorting a flight of B-52s.After his rescue, Air Force procedures were changed. Officers with his level of nuclear expertise were no longer allowed to fly combat missions. The risks of shootdown and enemy torture were too great.3 of 5Air Force Lieutenant Mark Clark was the grandson of Army 4-star Mark W. Clark.Lieutenant Clark was an OV-10 Forward Air Controller aboard Nail 38.4 of 5Navy Lieutenant Tom Norris spent four years recovering in the hospital. He had multiple surgeries. Norris left the Navy and joined the FBI. He retired after 20 years.His favorite assignment was assault team leader on the FBI’s hostage rescue team.5 of 5Michael E. Thornton was raised on a farm in South Carolina. He began BUD/S training in 1969 at age 20.129 men started training and 16 graduated.Thornton (center) spent the next three years in Vietnam.
