Attendance Allowance: Fill & Download for Free

Very recently I had a flight from Japan to Europe. Less than 20% of the seats were filled. (Only realised after a while) I was amazed by the fact that a lot of people didn’t even start at their own seats. The plane had some rows in the middle that had 4 seats connected, and many may-be-frequent users of this flight knew there would be very few passengers directly went to those empty rows.So I started looking for such a row to sleep. A flight attendant noticed, and ran across the plane to help me look for a totally empty 4-seat row. However, she couldn’t find one and even apologised, so I ended up at a place with 3 empty seats to sleep on.I did worry about looking bad or even prohibited from sleeping across seats, but actually the attendant was totally okay and even supported that.

I have seen flight attendants eat on flights many times, so I’m going with yes.They don’t eat in front of the passengers; they eat in the galleys. Many times they eat a bite or two and then get interrupted by their duties, before they can take another bite. Sometimes they eat standing up because they know they are about to be interrupted.But yes, they can and do eat.

Recently I flew alone with my one-year-old son. We had a 24-hour (each way) flight from Los Angeles to New Delhi, through Dubai, on Emirates Airlines. I was nervous about traveling alone with him. He didn’t fit in the bassinet, and I didn’t pay for a seat for him, so I was expecting to have to hold him in my lap the whole time and was worried about him getting restless.But luckily for me, there were several empty seats on the plane, and the flight attendant allowed me to sit in the empty row (my child and I got a whole row of three seats to ourselves). I also used the bassinet to store some stuff. So we had lots of room to stretch out and sleep. We also kept ourselves occupied by watching several in-flight movies.The service of the Emirates flight attendants was very high quality. They even gave us several jars of baby food and a care package with a reusable baby spoon, bib, bottle, wipes, and baby lotion. In the airport in Dubai, they also provided a stroller to take my baby to the other gate.So I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. Flying alone with my baby for such a long flight went much better than I could have imagined. Thank you, Emirates!Thanks for reading!
