Is the sex offender registry a witch hunt?

This answer may contain sensitive images. Click on an image to unblur it.Here’s what the sex offender registry ISN’T:It is NOT a law intended to keep people — particularly children and disabled people — safe from imaginary “sexual” predators hiding behind tree bushesIt is NOT intended to register only the most violent sexual offenders who are likely to re-offendIt is NOT something that is used by law enforcement in order to ensure that people are kept safeAbove: When “Sex Offenders” Resort To Washing CarsHowever, let me list you some of the things that the sex offender registry has been known to do:The sex offender registry HAS gotten the lives of hundreds of thousands of people destroyed, often times for something as simple as peeing in a bush or sidewalk because they could not find a washroomThe sex offender registry HAS ruined the lives of those living in the household of a “sex offender” by subjecting them to harassment from outsiders, or even driving them into homelessness because the sex offender registry prevents them from living in an urban or suburban neighbourhoodThe sex offender registry HAS gotten many people unemployed for life, often times because they may have hugged or kissed someone against their will when they were in elementary school, alongside all the other ramifications and restrictions that come with being on the sex offender registryAbove: Children Added To The “Sex Offender” RegistryThere is a misconception among proponents of the sex offender registry — particularly in the USA, where its use is more widespread than in the other dozen or so countries that use it — that the sex offender registry is about “protecting” the youth.By the end of this article, I hope that readers will be able to see the evidence I have laid out and come to the realisation that the sex offender registry is nothing more than a money-grabbing hoax that was introduced with the intention for quacks and politicians to make billions of dollars in profit in the name of “defending” the children; reminiscent of the way that the War on Drugs, the War on Crime and even the old Prohibition laws were supposedly about making society safer.Sex Crimes: Here Are 15 States With the Most Registered Sex OffendersCurrently, there are an estimated one million Americans who are on the sex offender registry. The only reason that number is not higher is for three primary reasons:Many of those on the registry eventually die — often times by homicide or suicide — and thus reducing the overall numberMany registered offenders are still in prison and are thus not counted among those found on the registryMany would-be registered offenders have either never been reported or have yet to be convictedAbove: MY! WHAT BIG TEETH YOU HAVE!First, let’s get this out of the way: most people who are on the registry have NOT been convicted of rape. In fact, most of those who are registered — at least at first — are not even adults. They are children.Fourteen years old at that; many of them much younger. The two main reasons why children are more likely to be registered is because children are more likely to do something that an adult would say is “inappropriate” and because lawyers and police officers in general like to go after younger children, because children are more likely to get intimidated by the judicial system and not know how to adequately defend themselves.Another reason is because children who have sex with another child that is a couple of years younger than them will find themselves registered before they are even old enough to attend high school.Ironically, many states will also register the younger child because even though the law will claim that the older person committed statutory rape, many states believe that the “premeditation” still warrants trying the younger juvenile as an adult as well and having them registered for life.Raised on the Registry | The Irreparable Harm of Placing Children on Sex Offender Registries in the USAdults who take naked pictures of themselves and post it online are also not breaking the law in nearly all jurisdictions of the United States and are therefore not subjected to the sex offender registry.Children who do the same thing, however, have indeed been added to the registry because they took a picture of themselves and then either got charged with child pornography for having a naked picture of themselves, or for child pornographic distribution when they show their photographs to their friends. Many children who were as young as ten have found themselves on the registry for decades or even life for having taken a photograph of themselves. One teenager from Pennsylvania was given a lifetime registration when she was convicted of child pornography and child pornographic distribution when she took a picture of herself and showed the photograph to her friends. These rulings are almost never overturned, as the courts have a long history of having a low standard for what constitutes cruel and unusual punishment.Quite ironically, one of the arguments that the American Supreme Court has used in justifying why the sex offender registry is constitutional is because the Supreme Court does NOT recognise the registry as a punishment. As far as the Supreme Court is concerned, it is all about “prevention.”SUPREME COURT RATIONALFrom their alleged perspective, having every “potential” predator listed on a public database will magically reduce, if not outright, eliminate the possibility of more children or those left in vulnerable positions from being raped or subjected to physical/mental abuse. They don’t believe that this is a punishment, because as far as they are concerned, they are doing this in the name of “public safety” even if it might come at the expense of those added to the registry as well as everyone else that may be associated with them.In addition, the Supreme Court argues that registering every potentially violent predator — regardless of whether or not they have even been convicted of a violent crime by the standards of a normal-thinking individual — will make parents and guardians alike more aware of how “dangerous” their communities actually are so that they will keep a better eye on their children.WHY THE SUPREME COURT IS FULL OF ITSELFFirst of all, the laws are so vague and broadly imposed that we may as well be registering the entire population, as it is not as if there is any way of knowing who out there is a “potential” predator, and who it is that might actually carry out their “predatorial” instincts. The Supreme Court cannot prove public safety, as there is no evidence that the sex offender registry has reduced the number of legitimate sexual offences. If anything, studies indicate that the exact opposite may be the case. Not to mention the fact that children of parents on the registry are shown to be more likely to be the subject of ridicule, bullying and exclusion from their school peers, and that they — along with their parents — are more likely to become the victims of violence or vandalism perpetrated by one or more wannabe vigilantes who saw their mom or dad’s picture on the registry.Lastly, there is no evidence that the registry is being primarily used as anything more than as a means to blackmail, harass or abuse those on the registry. If the registry was really intended for what its purpose was, and if the registry was working as supposedly intended: the number of victims of sexual offences would drop down to freaking ZERO!How many kids are on the sex offender registry?SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY IS USED TO TARGET CHILDREN AND THE POOREven though I cannot prove it beyond certainty at this point, I have compiled enough evidence to suggest that not only was the sex offender registry never about protecting children, but that it has actually been used as a tool to CRIMINALISE and destroy the lives of children and poor working adults alike. As stated earlier, the average age that people are being added to the registry is actually fourteen. Two keywords here: average and fourteen.Personally, I find the word average to be the more daunting of the two, because while fourteen is young enough, average implies that there are hundreds of thousands of people on the registry who got registered at a far earlier age than that. And let’s be honest here: the thousands of children who were registered when they were in their single digits were not going around raping and attacking other children or adults with blunt objects and acting remorseless about it even into old age.Above: Sex Offenders In The MakingIn fact, the types of offences that are most likely to get elementary children added to the registry include:Involuntary kissingInvoluntary huggingPeeing in a public areaMake crude jokes deemed “sexual” around other childrenTouching another child that is deemed by an adult to be “sexual”Pulling down another child’s pants as a form of bullyingBy the time children become teenagers, the most likely reasons they might find themselves put on a lifetime registry include:Taking a naked photograph of themselvesDistributing a naked picture of themselves or another underage teenagerHaving oral sex with an underage student (female and male alike)Sexting with someone underage or if the sexter was underageTaking a naked picture of someone under eighteenHaving consensual sex with an underage teenager, even if the teenager lied about being underageAsking another teenager or adult out for “sexual” purposesAbove: Homer Simpson, The “Sex Offender”The last example may sound confusing, but people actually do get added to the registry if they end up being one of those awkward people who is straight out blunt about what they want to do and the person being asked or a witness decides to report it.Above: Florida “Sex Offender” VillageAll the other examples mentioned above for children and teenagers alike is also very much true and quite common. For instance, in the state of Colorado alone, there are at least five people who were added to the sex offender registry as children because they were found guilty of having hugged a student or adult without their permission. In some cases, these children were “repeat offenders” who did it again even after being confronted by the police, but it is still nonetheless just another way for the state to be able to impose its power on the population while destroying the lives of millions of people in the process.REPERCUSSIONS FOR BEING ON THE SEX OFFENDER REGISTRYThe repercussions for being on the sex offender registry vary from state to state, as well as the reasons why someone was added.Until recently, states such as Pennsylvania and California did not distinguish between a paroled serial rapist or someone who peed in a public place.Above: Homer Simpson Runs For Sex Offender LeaderAll people subjected to the registry were automatically kept there for life and given the same ubiquitous restrictions which included but were not necessarily limited to:Having your image, address, place of employment and phone number added onlineBeing told you could not live within 2,000 feet of a school, bus stop, shopping mall, theatre, park, church etc. (in other words, going homeless)Restriction in jobs that involved working with children or where children were likely to be present; or where “vulnerable” adults might beAdditionally, jobs with a zero tolerance policy for felonies were also out of the question for those on the registryChildren of a registered offender could be subjected to seizure by the state at any given moment, regardless of the reason or age of the “offender” at the time they were addedHALLOWEEN’S OUT!In several other states, such as Missouri, Colorado, Texas, North Carolina, Ohio, California, New York, Tennessee and Illinois, those on the registry were also effectively prohibited from celebrating Christmas, Easter and Halloween with their own families. These states will not only prohibit those on the registry from being out on those nights, they will even have the police themselves come walking up to their property and put big signs that tell children and adults passing that a “violent sexual” predator lives there and that they are not allowed to be on the property until the sign is removed the next day.In California and Florida, those on the registry are also expected to have their lights shut off on Halloween night and to remain indoors at all times or risk spending up to three years in prison for breaking the conditions of their registry.Halloween Sex Offender Laws - FindLawAbove: 1912 Child PornographyIn Missouri, a man was convicted in 2011 of “second degree sexual felony” when he was twenty years of age.His crime? He brought a fifteen year old girl on a date and as soon as he physically touched her with his hand, she objected and ran away and her father later reported it to the police. That was enough for him to be added to the sex offender registry for the rest of his life, where his job opportunities are limited, and where he is no longer permitted to be outside on Halloween, and was even forbidden from seeing one of his siblings graduate from high school because underage people would be present. In addition, had he not accepted a plea bargain, he would have been imprisoned for a minimum of seven years in addition to being added for a lifetime to the sex offender registry alongside all its repressive features.Sex offender faces a lifetime on the registryHOMELESS ON THE REGISTRYIn California, another anonymous woman was added to the registry for life when she was sixteen years old for supposedly flashing her breasts at an incoming police officer. As a result, she and her daughter are now forced to live in a homeless shelter, despite having a job, because California’s residency restrictions mean that there are literally no apartments or houses that are within her affordability range that does not fall within the red zone.Hundreds of those on the registry have been forced to settle beneath the Julia Tuttle Causeway because Miami, Florida restricted the areas a sex offender could live to such a vast degree that there was literally no place — not even a homeless shelter — where they could settle. As a result, these men (and women) are forced to live together as a means for survival and form their own colonies that has only recently been cracked down upon by politicians, such as Ron Book, trying to cover up their dirty prints.Julia Tuttle Causeway sex offender colony - WikipediaTHOMAS PAULIIn 2009, Thomas Pauli of Grand Rapids, Michigan was sentenced to fifteen years in prison for relations with a thirteen year old when he was thirty-two. He was eventually paroled before completing his sentence, though he was put on a lifetime registration. One of the restrictions being that he was forbidden under state law from accessing a homeless shelter. If a homeless shelter would have accepted him, they would likely have had the police themselves barging in on them, and the entire shelter could have been closed and the employees fined and even arrested, and far more homeless people may have frozen to death that night, as they wouldn’t have had a shelter to sleep in.Pauli went to two different shelters that night and was told that the law of Michigan prohibits sex offenders from accessing homeless shelters. At 10 AM the next day, a man found Pauli behind a building, where he was found to have frozen to death overnight because no shelter was willing to risk being hounded by the police — even to save him from imminent death.Above: That’s What You Get For Being Registered!Death of homeless sex offender in Grand Rapids poses questionsMichigan is one of many states that will sooner let a person on the registry freeze to death than allow them into a homeless shelter, and the case of Thomas Pauli was no exception.A few years back, lawsuits were even filed against Governor Jennifer Granholm and her top advisors because of her vigorous promotion and defence of the laws that have even seen some sex offenders literally thrown onto the curb after being surgically treated because they are not allowed to reside within a hospital nor a homeless shelter to recuperate.Lawsuit filed on behalf of homeless sex offenders seeking shelter in Grand RapidsJANET ALLISON CASEJanet Allison was another woman who was living in Georgia with her then 15 year old daughter in 2000, when her daughter came home one day to inform her that she had been impregnated by her boyfriend. She permitted the boyfriend to move into her four bedroom residence, only to be later arrested and added for life onto the sex offender registry, because the police and courts declared her to be a “party to child molestation” for having allowed her boyfriend to move in with them.Above: Sex Offenders Of The 1970sLater on, she was forced to give up her home, due to losing her employment, in addition to the costs associated with being on the registry, as well as the 2006 law which mandated that no sex offender would be permitted to live OR work within 1,000 feet of a school, bus stop, museum, shopping mall, theatre, church, library, swimming pool, park, stadium or anywhere where children are likely to “gather.”Above: They Say Zombies Come Out At Night!Ultimately, her only option — given the conditions — was to be reduced to living in a small trailer in the countryside, as that was now the best form of living she could afford, due to Georgia’s sex offender and residency restriction laws which had come into effect on July 1, 2006; the same month that George W. Bush would sign the Adam Walsh Act into law, which came into effect on July 27, 2006.A 2010 state court ruling later found that applying the residency restriction law to offenders convicted before 2003 to be unconstitutional, which means that Janet is no longer subjected to Georgia’s notoriously punitive registry. Nonetheless, the damage is likely irreparable, as reversing a law — even for someone convicted before the law came into effect — is not going to get them their years of lost wages or residency back.State of Georgia v. Allison - WikipediaAbove: George W. Bush Signing Away Yet More Civil LibertiesTHE HYPOCRISY OF THE ADAM WALSH ACTAdam’s own father was a sex offender, based on the very laws that his father — John Walsh, seen raising his thumb beside the former president and also the host of America’s Most Wanted — helped enforce into nationwide law. Some of the amendments require that children be subjected to the sex offender registry in greater numbers than previously by making lifetime registration mandatory for all children over thirteen years of age convicted of a sexual act while also making it discretionary for children under thirteen. Some of the laws John Walsh helped enforce into law were the result of many of the cases listed above and below.Should John Walsh be on the Sex Offender List? What is more amusing, however, is not what John Walsh promoted or why he did it.The truly funny thing is that John Walsh is himself a statutory rapist in the first degree and therefore should have been registered, according to his own law that he named after his dead son.Sign the PetitionJohn was twenty-three when he admitted to having a sexual relationship with his wife, Rene Walsh. She was only sixteen years of age at the time, and John — amid the criticisms witnessed by his double-standard hypocrisy — would brush off the age difference by insisting that she was “smart and mature” for her age, and that therefore it was justifiable to have a relationship with her at that age.By 2010, there were as many as five times as many registered sex offenders across the United States as there had been in 2006 when the Adam Walsh Act was first introduced. This was due to the number of additional offences that would constitute a “sex crime” being included, as well as the increasing length of time people would need to be on it, with those in the Tier 1 and 2 level being subjected to a lifetime registry, while those in Tier 3 would only be permitted to come off after several decades had elapsed. But, I suppose because John Walsh is a celebrity, and that the sex offender registry laws were always intended to oppress children and the poor, that it is therefore okay for John Walsh to commit “sex crimes” against his wife.Above: Celebrities Need Not Register!John Walsh (television host) - WikipediaWHEN MONEY DOES NOT BUY YOU PRIVILEGESZach Anderson of Michigan was nineteen when he met a girl online that he thought was eighteen. It later turned out that she was fourteen, and as a result, he was forced to register for 25 years to life on the sex offender registry in the states of Indiana, Michigan, or any other state he may have later resided in, despite not knowing her age at the time.20-Year-Old Avoids 25 Years on Sex Offender RegistryHe was forced to move out of his parents’ home because Michigan — as previously shown above — has some of the country’s most stringent residency restrictions on sex offenders and his parents fell within that restriction zone.Only after years of long court battles and thousands of dollars spent along with intensive media coverage did Michigan acquiesce by taking him off the registry. Indiana put up a far bigger fuss, but they eventually relented as well.Above: Don’t Worry — You And A Million Other People In The United States Are In The Same Boat!Spotlight still shining on underage sex caseHowever, despite being taken off the registry, Zach was still forced to comply with the restrictions a sex offender is subjected to, which included:That he cannot even date a grown adult without permission from the courtsNo drinking alcoholNo purchasing of anything over $200, unless his probation officer agreesBeing prohibited from living in a home that has a computer or cell phoneMust be home before curfewAs well as being forced to abide by the residency restrictionsAbove: Quagmire’s Freedom Is Gone! The first judge — Dennis Wiley — sentenced him not because he thought he was guilty, but because the judge wanted to make an “example” out of people who believe in online dating.A second judge — Angela Pasula — refused to take him off the restrictions for at least six months after having his charges overturned because she wanted to be able to continue to control him for as long as possible in retaliation for the viral media that broke out over this case.Update on Zach Anderson: Judge shows no mercy at allAbove: Being An Asshat Is My Specialty!Anderson is far from unique, as there are always new cases breaking out involving teenagers who were told by their partner that they were a similar age as them, only to find out that they lied.Other men who were once teenagers and had sexual intercourse with their teenage partners also found themselves added for life onto the registry because they did not have the celebrity status that John Walsh possesses.Females are also far from exempt, as females are usually added onto the registry for life if they have oral sex with a male when one or both of them are deemed underage.Above: FAKE NEWS!Wendy Whitaker of Georgia was initially added for life onto the registry when she was seventeen for having consensual oral sex with a fifteen year old male in a school washroom.Georgia’s residency laws meant that her family lost their home and they were forced to live in a secluded area until a grassroots campaign saw her taken off the registry more than a decade after being added.Woman No Longer A 'Sex Offender'A similar case also happened in Georgia regarding a seventeen year old by the name of Genarlow Wilson, who had oral sex with a fifteen year old girl at a drunken New Year’s Party in 2003.Above: Next Year, The Registry Will Be Fuller Than This YearThe act was caught on tape by some of his friends, and as a result, Wilson and his friends were all later arrested and given varying charges.Wilson was charged with rape and aggravated child molestation while his friends were charged for being a party to child molestation, as well as possession and distribution of child pornography.Above: AAAAWWWW!!!! A Sex Offender! KILL HIM!The Story Behind the Iconic WWII Kissing PhotoWilson v. State - WikipediaHis friends pleaded guilty in order to avoid up to a lifetime behind bars, but were still nonetheless forced to register for life as sex offenders.Genarlow Wilson had all his charges — including the rape charge — dropped, with the exception of aggravated child molestation. The jury decided to find him guilty on that charge, only to angrily react during sentencing when they found out that the smaller charge he had been found guilty of would still mandate a ten year prison sentence, plus a lifetime on the sex offender registry. After four years, Wilson was freed by some of his supporters, though he still remains on the sex offender registry and was prohibited from returning home to his family because his then eight year old sister still lived there.Georgia Supreme Court Frees Man in Sex CaseOTHER NOTABLE CASESIn 2004, former substitute teacher Julie Amero was facing 40 years in prison and a lifetime on the sex offender registry because her school laptop had a virus that popped out ten images deemed sexually explicit. She would have received four years for each charge, culminating in her possibly spending the rest of her life in prison. Only after years of campaigning was she able to get the charges dropped on the condition that she forfeit her teaching license for life.Connecticut v. Amero - WikipediaIn 2009, a 34 year old Michelle Lyn Taylor of Nevada was sentenced to spend the rest of her life in prison as well as a lifetime on the registry if she were to ever get out after being found guilty of “forcing” a 13 year old to touch her breasts while she was drunk at a party.Beyond Insanity: 34-year-old Nevada woman sentenced to life in prison for allegedly “forcing” a 13-year-old male to touch her breast. In 2015, Jose Caballero and Elissa Alvarez were facing 15 years in a Florida prison and a lifetime spot on the sex offender registry for having sex under a blanket on the beach. Ultimately, the judge declined to impose the maximum sentence, but he still gave them a 30 month prison sentence and a lifetime sex offender registry requirement as part of his “commuted” sentence.https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2015/07/07/florida-man-sentenced-to-2-12-years-in-prison-for-having-sex-on-the-beach/?utm_term=.14158d66a01aIs it any wonder that the sex offender registry has become so oppressive and deadly that it is not only outright criminal, but even bordering on outright genocide? Some of the horrifying details of what can be found within the sex offender registry will be written below, and they may shock some viewers, but it must be stated nonetheless.“SEX OFFENDER TREATMENT”Those who go on the “sex offender treatment” programme — a mandatory requirement in nearly all jurisdictions, regardless of the “offence” committed — experience a wide range of hardships that include being forced to leave work during the day to meet up with their probation officer; being told — even as children — that they should not procreate; being forced to take a monthly polygraph test of $150 and pay it out of their own pocket; being forced to pay up to $325 per month to take a penile plethysmograph test where doctors study your penis and see what turns you on etc..Turning a profit on teenage sexAbove: Chemical Castration — The New Lobotomy Cure All!Such acts performed on even juvenile sex offenders would be seen as child abuse as well as a sex crime if it were done by anyone else. However, because they are registered, doctors, psychiatrists and the courts get to now treat those on the registry as products to be tested on for experimental purposes. This type of behaviour is not just unique to sex offenders but to a mammoth portion of the population. For instance, the Una Bomber Theodore Kaczynski was recruited and experimented on as a teenager for doctors and police to see if they could turn a “normal” individual into a violent psychopath. And they succeeded.15 Terrifying Facts About Ted Kaczynski, The UnabomberAn Extreme Psychological Study May Have Affected a Young Ted KaczynskiHarvard's Experiment on the Unabomber, Class of '62Harvard and the Making of the UnabomberAnthony Metts was an eighteen year old from Texas when he was arrested on charges that he had “raped” a fifteen year old girl in high school. The act was consensual, but since Texas did not recognise a difference between consensual sex with an underage girl and rape, he was facing a decade in prison. He was prosecuted by a woman named Robin Darr, who would later on have Anthony Metts imprisoned for a decade when she herself became a judge. His crime?Someone from his school recognised him and he was arrested, as he was prohibited from being allowed within a shopping mall or grocery store. Later on, while he was at a party, his electronic bracelet died, which meant that he would have been required to go back home. He decided to ignore that requirement and he stayed with his friends for a few more hours. That night, the police came to arrest him, and despite the fact that even the current prosecutor was only asking for three years, Robin ignored this and decided to slap Anthony with a decade in prison for doing nothing more than being a human.Above: What’s A Human?Above: Chris Griffin After “Sex Offender Treatment”CONCLUSIONI don’t think that I could ever get to the bottom of everything I wanted to say. I had to stop here because I knew that if I were to continue I would probably write a whole encyclopedia on this topic and still have more to write about. What can we take from this?First of all, the sex offender registry was not and was NEVER intended to be about public safety or child protection anymore than drug laws were.Even Patty Wetterling — mother of Jacob Wetterling, who was murdered and was given the namesake Jacob’s Law — has long since changed her stance and asked that the sex offender registry be abolished.Above: David Pakman Finally Turns Against The Sex Offender RegistryOn one occasion, she even received a letter from a sixteen year old who claimed he met a girl claiming to be fifteen at a bar. They had sex, and later on, he found out she was thirteen. Nonetheless, he was still forced to register for life on the registry, as were other people that Wetterling said wrote to her about how they were added for pulling down the pants of their sibling or another child when they too were underage.Patty Wetterling questions sex offender laws | City PagesIf even Patty can say this — despite being one of the original supporters of the sex offender registry — why is the rest of the population not as benign on this issue?Above: The Sex Offender Registry Is Bad … MMMKAY?There was also a case from 2008 in New Jersey about how two 14 year old boys had been convicted and forced to register for life because they were found to have bullied two 12 year old children. One of the things they did was to place their butts on their faces.By New Jersey law, this act was seen as a “violent” act against children under the age of 13, which meant that they had to be registered for life, despite not being much older themselves.Bogus ‘sex offender’ labels are ruining livesFindLaw's Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division case and opinions.Above: Speaking Of Which, Here Is Another Resident Of New Jersey! In fact, one of the two “perpetrators” had turned 14 on the day of the incident, and I happen to remember my 14th birthday quite well. I was born on December 26, 1990, and exactly fourteen years to the day later, most of south-east Asia was rocked by a massive tsunami that killed an estimated 250,000–500,000 people. On this day, I also had one of the few birthday parties in my life — being born on Boxing Day and all makes it kind of difficult — and I remember that I was busy playing laser tag, arcade games, eating cake and even being more interested in watching shows such as Mr Bean than an election debate.Above: The World As It Looked On My Fourteenth BirthdayEven though I myself never assaulted somebody — especially not in the matter the two boys above were accused of doing — I would nonetheless find it quite disturbing to think that from that day on, my name would be plastered all over the internet with words such as “sexual child predator” because of an incident that would have been regarded as mere bullying and physical assault if not for the fact that butts were somehow involved to make it more sexual.I have had my pants pulled down by bullies during my school days, and I remember that I used to hate it, especially if other people were nearby. However, does this mean I would have wanted people to be placed on some registry for life because of it?Fortunately, I live in Canada, where the sex offender registry is not quite as bad as it is in the United States, though I have a feeling that it is only a matter of when and not if Canadian citizens and politicians finally lose their marbles and turn Canada into America’s hat.Above: Not As Cool As A Mexican Umbrero, But It Will Suffice!Man who had sex with bicycle sentencedWant to know another little fact about sex offender laws?Even when a celebrity gets registered, they are NOT punished anywhere near the extent that a regular person is. In fact, they might receive no punishment at all for several reasons:They can afford to buy a luxury house in the countryside and thus not break any residency restrictionsThey have servants that provide their food, so they don’t need to go to the grocery store the way “regular” sex offenders wouldThey live in their own secluded area, which means that they are not even required to have their images plastered onlineThey most likely have such a huge fan base already that they can mitigate their supposed “sex crimes” whilst still getting the support of a large portion of the public; a luxury that “regular” sex offenders do not getAbove: HEY! HEY!Let’s say for the sake of argument that Bill Cosby is 100% guilty of multiple rapes and kidnappings, and he and Jared Fogle are able to leave prison before they die. What do you think will happen to them, legally speaking?Nothing.Want to know why?See the four points above. They BOTH have a lot of money and can easily buy a fairly prestigious residence to live out their remaining lives in some secluded area where they will still have a lifestyle most people could only dream about.Neither Bill Cosby nor Jared Fogle are going to be impacted by the registry.Above: Fogle’s Footlong Of The DayYou know who will be impacted, however? The average citizen who finds themselves on the registry.People who may have been seen naked in their kitchen window at 5 AM, or parents who were charged for taking a photograph of their baby suckling on its mother’s nipples, or a teenager streaking in front of his school, are going to be hit by the registry harder than a serial rapist who is also a celebrity ever will be.Man convicted of in-home indecent exposureThey cannot afford to just move to the countryside and get a nice home and employees to look after them. They cannot afford to become unemployed for the rest of their lives and become homeless as a result. They cannot afford to buy their own zip code that would exclude them from having to register their images online. They don’t have the fame that celebrities convicted of sex crimes do by being known for something other than being a “sex offender” and receiving the support that other sex offenders such as Kevin Spacey and Mike Tyson have.Speaking of Mike Tyson, let’s look at something he did a few years back.Mike Tyson was driving down the highway when he found an injured man on the road.Acting instinctively, Mike Tyson stopped his vehicle and ran through several lanes and rescued the man in front of hundreds of people.Above: So… Are We Cool, Now?Mike Tyson To The Rescue! Former Heavyweight Champ Saves Highway Accident VictimEven though Tyson is theoretically on a lifetime registry for having been convicted of rape, he nonetheless saved a man’s life, despite the black mark on his life.Imagine what would have happened to this man had Mike Tyson been someone with an ordinary income who got convicted and placed on the registry and then froze to death because he could not get into a homeless shelter. That man may not be alive today. If the courts sincerely want the registry to be purely a preventive as opposed to a punitive purpose, then I can only give them one single piece of advice:Abolish the sex offender registry… Because this law has clearly failed the public.FURTHER READING:David Frigault's answer to Why do criminals go back to crime?David Frigault's answer to What is your opinion of Lisa Riniker (the Wisconsin prosecutor who tried to label a six year old boy a sex offender for playing doctor with other children his age)?David Frigault's answer to What's the worst case scenario for a registered sex offender?Would you rather have gone to prison for seven years in 1900 or be in prison for the remainder of your life today? In Louisiana State Penitentiary, which is said to be a maximum security prison, and also the largest prison farm, do prisoners work in farming?David Frigault's answer to Why should a life sentence in prison be commuted to 50% time served in most UK cases?David Frigault's answer to Should prisons be miserable?David Frigault's answer to What is the single strongest argument in favor of the death penalty?David Frigault's answer to Did any US President ever oppose or question capital punishment when they were in office?David Frigault's answer to Why is capital punishment not as controversial in Japan as it is in the US?

I went to CocoDoc for a residential rental agreement. They offered a high quality agreement that was convenient to access. The rental transaction did not take place, so I did not subscribe to the monthly service, however I would not hesitate to use them next time. Highly recommended !
