I had this problem as a customer.I bought a vehicle from a dealer in my state, but 4 hours away from where I lived.however, my county (and only my county at the time) required emissions inspections, and there was no (easy) way for the dealer to get the inspection done, so they gave me the title application, a company check for the fees, (because the loan included registration fees and document costs) and I went home, got the inspection done, and took everything to the title office, paid them with the check, got everything back in an packet, put it in my safe, the end.a month later, I got a letter from the bank saying they had not received the title yet, and warned me they may repo the truck if they don’t receive it.I went to look at my copy, which should have been a duplicate copy with the lien holder recorded, but discovered that it was an original without a lien holder.well fuck.looked at the application form copy I had. It was correct. The title people made the mistake.I sent a certified letter to the bank with copies of the application showing we didn’t intentionally do it, or it was not my fault or the dealer, and sent them the primary title I had.they paid the state to reinssue the title appropriately, and sent me my copy, and thanked me for my assistance.so here’s the deal.you have a contract on the car. The contract requires a proper title with the lien holder listed. You are in breach of that contract, no matter who made the mistake. Therefore, to avoid the consequences (which may be a repossession or worse), the mistake needs to be fixed. You may need to fix it, or the bank may fix it for you once they see the proper, or the dealer who made the mistake needs to fix it (especially if they aren’t getting paid until they render the proper title to the bank). But SOMEONE needs to fix the mistake, otherwise it’s YOU getting screwed.

A few years ago, I financed a vehicle. About two months later, I received a title without the lien holder listed. I didnt think anything of it, placed in a draw, continued to make consistent payments, and always listed the Bank as a lien holder on my car insurance. Almost three years later, I received a letter from the bank. It states, "per your contract, you agreed to list us as a lienholder on your title, please proceed with providing information below". The document requests a Power of Attorney, Odometer Statement, Proof of Insurance, Registration, and copy of title (if still in possession). This appears to be a mistake made by the dealership or DMV. For some reason, I'm not comfortable with signing a Power of Attorney for my vehicle and sending to the bank. My question is, if I decide not to respond, what action can the bank take? I've made consistent payments, never late, and will be finish paying next year. Can they repossess the vehicle or file a judgment?

In that case, your spouse is also eligible to get the visa with the same validity as your work permit and she can also legally work in Germany, if she wants to.Procedure:The job holder has to do the following in the exact same order as soon as after landing in Germany.Step 1. I would suggest an apartment with 35 meter square or higher will be just fine for a couple. Also please include your wive’s name in the rental contract to avoid any problems later.Step 2. Do the address registration (Anmeldung) - You have to get an appointment at the “burgerampt” (Spelling is in German, but it is almost same) and go there with the below listed documents/formsAddress registration form (You can get it online)your passport & visa (visa will be stamped in passport for most countries)rental contractform from landlord (You can ask for this form as well along with the rental contract)Marriage certificateBirth certificate of kids (only if you have kidsYou will get this document immediately from the official. The paper you receive from there is going to serve as your address proof as long as you stay at that address.This is to be done again when you change your address in Germany ay time. If you have done it once, you do not need all above documents. You previous address registration document, new rental contract, passport and form from landlord will do from the second time onwards.You will later receive your Tax number by mail after doing address registration. This is an automatic process and do not require any other application. The tax number is unique for a person and it will be valid as long as you live in Germany.IMPORTANT: The address registration paper is a very important document. Do not treat it as just a piece of another paper. Keep this safe and secure. This is going to be your proof of address in Germany.Step 3. Get the statutory health insurance - Germany want every civilian to have their health insurance. It is mandatory to have this health insurance document before going to apply for the long term work permit. You can get either TK or AOK health insurance which are really popular in Germany. You can send a mail to any of these and they will send you the form and required documents. If I am correct, the following documents/forms are required to apply for the health insurance.Application formAddress registration document copyjob contract (Not sure whether this is required)A form with your photo pasted (Most probably this has to be sent by post)Couple of passport size recent photosThis might take 1 - 2 days. You can request a letter from the insurance company by Email for doing the residence permit application. If you get this in English, do ask them to send it in German.Step 4. Applying for residence permit at immigration office (Auslanderbehorde) - The first visa you get from the German consulate will only have a validity of 3 months/6 months (depending on the country). You have to get the residence permit to stay in Germany for more than that period. When you get the address registration document and insurance welcome letter with some insurance number, you are all set to go for the residence permit. You have to get an appointment at the “Auslanderbehorde” (Spelling is very close) to submit your application. It is really difficult to get an appointment in Auslanderbehorde of some cities. if the appointment is not available within 30 days, my advice is to schedule the appointment immediately after you land in Germany (Yes, Before starting all previous procedures). This will take roughly 3 to 4 weeks. So, Please do this as immediately as possible(within the first month of arriving in Germany, if you have only 3 months visa).IMPORTANT: If you are not able to get previous documents in time, please cancel the appointment well before (I mean before 1 - 2 days at-least) so that you are not wasting the appointment time.Procedure for WifeShe can start the visa application with the German consulate along with your application or before you get the residence permit in Germany. But, many of my friends and acquaintances told me that things are a lot more faster when the life partner has the residence permit and address already in Germany. In some case, both husband and wife got the visa at the same time from German consulate after applying together, even though only 1 of them is getting employed. It all depends on your luck.Once your wife lands in Germany, She has to do the exact same things mentioned from step 2 to 4. But, she do not have to produce job contract if she is coming here on family reunion.You can link her to your insurance without any additional cost as long as she is not working in Germany.
