What motivates someone to become a physician assistant?

Yet all eight PAs that I shadowed in preparation for my application to school worked primarily on their own, and I also appreciate autonomy.Beyond PA school there are nearly unlimited opportunities to further my education through fellowships in various kind of specialities like Emergency Medicine and Cardiovascular Surgery. Why don't Filipinos achieve better scores at standardized English test (e.g. TOEFL and IELTS)?

Compared to other nationalities, not as many Filipinos take the expensive IELTS or TOEFL exams because one part of the population speaks and uses English so well that they don't need to get tested, and another segment doesn't need to take it at all because it's not part of their job requirement. A relatively large group of Filipinos take a variety of English proficiency tests whose results are never released to the public by the employers. Let me describe all that with some scenarios.The most highly educated Filipinos have graduated with passing grades in Philippine universities and colleges that are internationally recognized as producing quality graduates for decades. Note that all higher education in the Philippines are conducted using English as the language of instruction. The graduates just need to submit their transcripts of school records (with excellent grades), write an essay or two, and undergo an interview to show that they are already fluent in the English language. They just submit their professional credentials and there are no questions asked about their fluency in the English language because they sound almost like an American.The graduates who apply for various jobs are asked to take IQ, English grammar, psychological, personality, and/or technical examinations, all of which are in the English language. Because there are too many applicants per job position, only those who pass them with high scores are accepted. Applicants for call center jobs undergo stricter English examinations including screening interviews on the phone (there's no point in testing them further at the office if they can't pass a phone interview using pure English) and computerized speech examinations. Those who don't pass just practice some more until they can pass at another employer. In all cases, their results are never released by the employer to the public.Job applicants for nursing, seamanship, teaching, and other jobs based overseas also need to submit their training credentials and undergo final interviews by foreign bosses using Skype or other Internet-based video or phone conferencing systems. Some of these may require the applicants to have passed standard English proficiency tests but not as many Filipinos would comply if the IELTS or TOEFL tests are beyond their means to pay, even if they could pass it. Since it's so easy to get non-branded standard tests from the Internet, the employers may opt for that type of testing instead.Locally employed staff may not need to take English language proficiency exams if they will be talking to local customers or clients in the vernacular. Those who can speak English relatively well may have a better chance of being hired and assigned to front-desk or receptionist posts.In cases 1, 2, and 3 above, the employer may prefer to use standard English proficiency exams in which there is no expensive license fee (they can also get these for free from many sources).The applicants themselves would not willingly pay for the IELTS and TOEFL exams unless they are attempting to enter US colleges or universities as students or are required by an employer that doesn't want to conduct its own English examinations.
