When have you experienced music in such a way that it was more than just sound?

The Wild Center, in Tupper Lake, New York, has the Iforest, which is an absolutely sublime combination of music and forest. They have installed speakers judiciously along a path through the forest and you hear music as you walk through the woods. You experience what they call an “immersive sound and art installation.” It’s much more than the sum of its parts, and I highly recommend it. The Wild Center is a museum in the hamlet of Tupper Lake, in the Adirondack mountains, about thirty miles west of Lake Placid. Here’s the web site: iForest | Wild Center.

How do you catch a serial killer who kills randomly without a pattern?

This answer may contain sensitive images. Click on an image to unblur it.This question reminds me of Israel Keyes. He was born in 1978 and had been home schooled. He also was a former soldier and served in the army till 2001.After quitting his service, he grew fond of watching serial killers and their documentaries. Through them he learnt various modus operandi of various serial killers like Ted Bundy, and he took inspiration from the same trying to perfect his own murderous methods to avoid detection. He later admitted to have killed more than eleven people, mostly outside the USA to leave no tracks. He never murdered close to his own place or even in the same area, twice. He would travel several miles over the country and collect his murder weapons. His kits consisted of plastic bags, shovels and cleaning chemicals. He would also choose his victims at random in order to avoid any predictable patterns and would rob banks to fund his murder sprees. He was finally caught in Texas, on March 3rd, 2012, he did confess to his crimes. However, he committed suicide in the same year in December.Details of his victims as taken from Israel Keyes - Wikipedia :-Keyes admitted to investigators that he killed four people in Washington, claims which are the subject of an active investigation by the state police and FBI. Keyes did not have a felony criminal record in Washington, although he had been cited in Thurston County for driving without a valid license and, in an earlier incident, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence. Authorities are reviewing unsolved murder and missing persons cases to determine which cases, if any, may link to Keyes.Keyes confessed to at least one murder in New York State. Authorities have not determined the identity, age, or sex of the victim, or when and where the murder may have occurred, but regard the confession as credible.Keyes had ties to New York; he owned ten acres and a run down cabin in the town of Constable. Keyes also confessed to committing bank robberies in New York and Texas. The FBI later confirmed that Keyes robbed the Community Bank branch in Tupper Lake, New York, in April 2009, leaving no casualties. He also told authorities that he burglarized a Texas home and set it on fire.In April 2009, Keyes claimed to have killed a woman in New Jersey and buried her near Tupper Lake in upstate New York.Keyes was also linked to the deaths of Bill and Lorraine Currier of Essex, Vermont. Keyes reportedly broke into the Curriers' home on the night of June 8 and tied them up before driving them to an abandoned farmhouse, where he shot Bill before sexually assaulting and strangling Lorraine. However, their bodies have not been found. Two years prior to the Curriers' deaths, Keyes hid a "murder kit" near their home, a kit which he later used to kill them. After the murders, he moved most of the items to a new hiding place in Parishville, New York, where they remained until after his arrest.Keyes' last known murder was the kidnapping and killing of 18-year-old Samantha Koenig, a coffee booth employee working in Anchorage, Alaska. Authorities said that Keyes kidnapped her from her place of employment on February 1, 2012, stole her debit card and other property, and then murdered her the following day. Police stated that Keyes sexually assaulted Koenig before he murdered her. After Koenig's death, Keyes left on a cruise out of New Orleans, leaving Koenig's body in a shed. When he returned home, he took a photograph of her body with a four-day-old issue of the Anchorage Daily News, maintaining the illusion that she was still alive in his ransom demand. After demanding $30,000 in ransom, Keyes dismembered Koenig and disposed of her body in Matanuska Lake north of Anchorage. An FBI report said Keyes burglarized 20 to 30 homes across the United States and robbed several banks between 2001 and 2012 to fund his hobby of killing people. He may be linked to as many as 11 deaths in the U.S., and there might be even more victims outside the country. However, he was finally caught as;After the murder of Koenig, Keyes' demanded ransom was paid and police were able to track withdrawals from the account as Keyes moved throughout the southwestern U.S. During that time, in a controversial move, the police refused to release surveillance video of Koenig's abduction.Keyes was arrested by the Texas Highway Patrol in the parking lot of the Cotton Patch Café in Lufkin, Texas, on the morning of March 13, 2012,after he had again used Koenig's debit card, which he had previously used in New Mexico and Arizona. Keyes was subsequently extradited to Alaska, where he confessed to Koenig's murder. He was represented by Alaska federal defender Rich Curtner. Keyes was indicted in the case, and his trial was scheduled to begin in March 2013.
