Science Fair Project Template & Science Fair Judge'S Worksheet: Fill & Download for Free

I’ve been a high school intern at Georgia Tech for three semesters now in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. After taking inspiration from other high schoolers at the Intel Science and Engineering Fair sophomore year of high school, I decided that I would get an internship for myself. My intent was to find a mentor to help me with a science fair project to present the following year, and I used this article as a guide: Science Buddies: How to Find a MentorI probably emailed fifteen professors at Georgia Tech using the same email template (modifying a couple of sentences for each to fit the specifics of each lab) until I stumbled across one that I was particularly interested in joining. For that one, I wrote a long, engaging, highly proofread email that showed my drive to become a member of the lab and conduct research related to my passion. The PI of the lab responded, I interviewed, and before I knew it, I was sitting in a conference room at GT for our first lab meeting.I started my internship first semester of junior year, and got a pass from my high school to allow me to leave school early to go to Tech. My advice is, email multiple professors (until you are successful!), don’t get discouraged if you don’t get the responses you were looking for (many didn’t respond to me at all), and above all, make it clear that you are passionate and will do your best if you get the opportunity to intern. Like I said, I only emailed 15 professors, but I was prepared to email far more if that’s what it took. Keep trying until you make it.Best of luck!

Are you talking about a template / structure (1) or an out-of-the-box experience like the famous volcano or the solar system (2)?My daughter recently finished her 8th-grade project. It should follow more or less these guidelines:2) Out-of-the-box projectsI volunteered to setup the science projects for the jury. There were more than 200 of them. Not a single volcano or solar system. From what I could tell, there wasn't a single pre-cooked project.The teachers I talked to were unanimou: the best project for a student is the one they really care about (within the restrictions). For instance, the kids talked a lot about a project related to “lactose-free milk”.At the end of the day, the student needs to deliver the work, which takes quite some time. If the parents have to keep pushing them, it's exhausting (trust me).On top of that, the students need to able to defend their projects in front of a jury. My daughter’s project was related to electricity and involved electronics, soldering, LEDs, etc. She was called and had to explain the circuit board and how she soldered the parts.Hope this helps.
