China civilization in historiography is also a little odd compared with old civilizations such as Egypt and Sumer. They do not have many gods and folklores regard the genesis of Chinese people. Huangdi and Yandi are too human compared with Indian and Egyptian gods. This lacking is due to the later synthesis of many states’ history and civilizations into one Chinese civilization.Archeological study also showed that the premise of Xia dynasty existence is very weak by Western standards. This couples with exciting discoveries in areas tradionally regarded as periphery of Chinese civilization made Chinese historians rethink of the formation of Chinese civilization.
