With the consent of the person with legal custody (decision-making authority for the child), I would get releases for health records, school records, and police records, and records for any previous evaluations or mental health interventions.After doing all of that, I’d consider everything, and watch closely for signs of convergent validity and reliability of reports, together with my in-person evaluation of the child, possibly in a family context, and formulate recommendations, if any.
