I'm in Texas. I was a college student here, but I'm originally from New York. My NY ID expired, so I needed to get a new one in Texas. I had to wait until I went back to NY to get a new ID.If you are homeless, staying with friends/family, living in a shelter, couch surfing, etc… you have none of these and cannot get a Texas state ID.Some of the other acceptable forms of voter identification may be easier for certain individuals, but this is hardly a “minor hassle”.
