Well, she didn’t show up on my doorstep. The adoption agency contacted me to let me know that she wanted my contact info. They then made us jump through some hoops for a month or so, and finally released our contact info to each other.She was in her early 20’s when she found me. We live about five hours apart, so we made arrangements to meet up soon after. She’s 34 now, and if you met our family, you wouldn’t know that she wasn’t raised in our family. Yes, adults can adopt other adults. My mom’s husband adopted me when I was 35 because we got along so well and I had never had a true father figure. He wanted to legally adopt me so that I could legally inherit from him after his death. I don’t want his money. Having a real father was the best gift he ever gave me.
